Thank you for this. But isn't the naming for Forward & Reverse interchanged? In otherwards, Left-side contactor is Reverse and Right side contactor is forward. Because the L1 and L3 have been interchanged on the Left-side contactor to enable reverse function. Isn't that so?
Forward/Reverse depends on how you see it, or how the machine movement is designed.

I think what he means by the use of reversing contactors.
You get a component called a contactor mechanical interlock, it comes in between the 2 contactors and prohibits both contactors being energised at once.

Add NC modules to the buttons and run each others power via that. SO if button 1 is pushed, power is not even fed to button 2, if button 2 is pressed, button 1 loses power. If both are pressed nothing happens.
