- Guys! If you're using FL Studio/any DAW and you can't install the Voice packs (you get an error where it won't allow you to drag and drop the XML file on the GUI - that's because you HAVEN'T copied and pasted the Voice folders in the Alter Ego folder. If you try and drag Voice XML files without doing this e.g.straight from your Downloads folder - it won't let you add the file to Alter Ego - hope that helps
I may be misunderstanding the issue, but if you just click the top left arrow symbol on the plugin window (FL's menu where you save/load presets etc.) and then select ''browse parameters'', you can right click and automate from there, without any performance required. You can even scroll down to the grayed out ones to control the mod wheel, breath control and other modulations that may not be on the synth's UI, this let's you use the mod wheel on the free Tyrell N6, for example.
And just a random tip if you have/get the Tyrell as well (It's AWESOME), you can select the TUC - Chemtrails preset, which has a hidden pan modulation matrix target! You can set it to poly/2-8 voices and use Stackvoice to modulate the pan, distributing the voices over the stereo field! This can be really cool when you use other stackvoice modulations, like syncing your osc 2 to 1 and then slightly detuning some of osc 2's voices further etc. I highly recommend loading the preset, double-clicking all parameters to reset them, setting the pan modulation's source to stackvoice, putting it on poly and saving that as a preset. The amount of voices varies, and you can only have 8 voices, in this case meaning you can only play up to 8x1 voice notes at a time, 2x4 and so on. The global detune now also affects voices individually, but also something you tweak each time.
Is this good for making expressive (non-monotone) AI voiceover UI sounds for sci-fi video games? I mean as long as I use creative effects and audio editing.

If vocals are replaced by computerized AI entirely one day then songwriting and production and whatnot would take a really interesting turn

It has modulation built in. You don't have to use a mod wheel.
modulation wheel lets you apply modulation to certain notes/words. built in modulation applys on every note/word im pretty sure.
