I used this software on my two latest tracks. Works good. I understand some people are against producing vocals this way. I see it as a tool. No difference from using a virtual piano or sampled drums.
I remember how we did music back in the 60's. It is impressive to find out how much technology, now, one kid can utilize in his own little room. It's literally mind blowing.
One kid with no music skills who brags he can push a few buttons and the computer does it all for him. AI was meant to do boring jobs so we would have more time to be creative, instead its taking creativity away, if it disappeared tomorrow some “artists” would have a meltdown
@@Yobs2K not really music skills if the computer sorts everything out. Production skills maybe but not music, songwriting or instrument skills. A lot of the younger bedroom ones are good producers because they’ve learnt their equipment who’d be better teaming up with someone who can write songs instead of everything sounding similar
@@TayWoode production skills are part of the music skills too though. And it's not about "computer sorting everything out" if the only thing it does by itself is generating vocals from your melody. I mean, there a lot of producers who don't sing and either produce music for other artists or collaborate with singers to use their vocals. I wouldn't say they're bad at music. And using ai generated vocals may be bad in terms of quality or lacking of the human element, but I don't see how it makes a person a bad musician if the only skill it replaces is singing, not affecting producing, song writing or instrument skills
@@Yobs2K I agree production skills are a plus now people are making music alone and a lot are great engineers and producers, but I wasn’t on about vocals i was on about writing music, coming up with interesting melodies and chord progressions, not the standard ones expected which is what can happen when people don’t bother to experiment and just match with what the computer comes up with. Some people love to brag the computer does it all but then get very defensive when you point it out
I think this tool would be useful for a songwriter who can't sing and wants to bring a song to the band but I don't think that this should be used as a final song.
You are very skilled, I used to do this with Symphonic Choirs back in the days and Vocaloid but I must say that ai kills this department with creating vocals. With Suno I create a quick song with a celeb accapella, write a text, extract stems and replace it again with a higher quality ai voice.
TIP: 1:44, you don't even need to go to the menu, just click on the musical note and it will give you that menu, plus if you enable it, you can lock the piano roll when you draw to the notes.
The world doesn't need more artificiality. It needs more collaboration. There are lots of singers out there. Work with them or they will wither away and artifice will be all we have left.
Exactly, it’s why music is all the same now, kid in his bedroom presses a button on his computer bragging he has no musical knowledge and people call it mind blowing. AI was meant to do boring jobs so we would have more time to be creative, seems the opposite is happening, people becoming stagnant and lazy
I agree with you both but there is another side to using “artificial” music. Professional composers and song writers use more sophisticated computer applications to compose mockups to later be performed by live artists and musicians. All of the major composers for film and TV prepare their compositions in a mockup because paying artists to sit while they compose would be outrageously expensive and tedious for the musicians. And song writers use mockups to pitch to recording labels or bands. And then there’s the kid in his or her bedroom doing what you said. 😉🤟🏼💕 Gianni❤
@@gianni1646 Yeah I use MIDI vocals for mockup too, but the video doesn't say 'here's a cool plugin for mockup'. It seems to me like he is pitching it as if it's a really cool thing to have artificial vocals
I agree, but there is also another side. I'm a father of two, I like programming games for my kids (useful content, no ads....), no problem as I am a software engineer. But a game lives from music and graphics, code is just the glue to keep all together. But it is a hobby, I can't pay for artists. And to find all the people you need, saying, cool project, I have kids too I'm in for hobby is impossible when you have a full time job and a family. So these tools are a great help in my situation
First of all, thank you for a demonstration - it looks interesting to play with ... I just have one question, what's with the strange accent in "shadOWs" instead of "shAdows"? I thought that maybe it was an initial/default mistake that you'll correct later, but it seems you left it like that and it's really hard to listen to because it sounds weird, unusual, odd, wrong - at least to me and English is my second language so I bet it sounds even weirder to a native speaker?
that's awesome! I am looking for an option, to optimize the vocals (and sometimes also mispronunciations) of AI generated songs. What workaround would you suggest? Would it make sense, to get the vocal stem, transfer it into notes and then import it into ACE Studio? Could you make tutorial about this?
I tried this out a few months back and found it to be a bit gash if you ask me. Like the word Shadows in this track sounds like a Chinese lassie singing that particular word, which is what I found when I tried it out, the vocals sounded naff and Chinese, turns out the company is Chinese by the seems of it, not that I have anything against Chinese singers at all, it just wasn't the vibe I was after, I theory it's a great idea, in Practice it's not great and like others said great to take a tune to a real singer and ask them to sing it. There are a few far better AI voice systems out there which I've used and they are very good. You can copy all your lyrics, select all notes and paste the lyrics in one go and it lays them all down for you, also I'm pretty sure you can right click the audio click and select create harmony and it does it for you without doing anything. Just my opinion and does have a place in laying out an idea but would never use it as a track release.
This is too much work to get it done right. And it will still sound robotic. Singing it with your own voice, tuning it with Autotune/Melodyne and then using an AI service to change your voice to someone else's will be faster and will get much much better results.
It's a good program, but there are others that you can buy without a subscription. Now I'd like to say that in France you can't find singers if you're not a producer who pays the radio stations and even TV to get you known. It's also impossible to find a singer if you're a little out of touch with musical trends. So I'd rather use this kind of program than do nothing.
These singers got paid a fee to lend their voices (unless no real singer was used and some other way was used) so it's always weird to think that they are in a studio singing and getting paid and that recording session is helping to put THEM out of business! ironic.
Unfortunately this software is a credit card trap. 14-day trial but then it's subscription only. In other words you're stuck like an adobe application with a monthly charge or you lose access to your work. So unfortunate that they chose to do it this way rather than on outright purchase. I will wait for an open source version
