Thank you for the video one thing I do that might help you on the next Oil Change is I punch a small hole in the bottom of the oil filter let it drain before removing. Like your videos
I know this comment isn't oil related, but, maybe someone could help. My 2015 F250 honks with 3 blast after remote start. Not every time, Any ideas? I replaced a bad door switch. Didn't help.
Thanks George! I always appreciate any tips, Ill keep that in mind. I've heard arguments for both ways. Id like to hear your theory; I didnt pre-fill my filter, whats going to happen?
The theory is that it prevents dry-start but I've never put much stock in that particular belief for the main reason that if you're working on an in-service engine the oil film that's present is going to provide the necessary lubrication to prevent any damage before the new oil gets there. Now, all bets are off if you drain the oil and let it sit for hours before restarting it. In that case I would definitely be priming the oil filter.
Great video! I’m surprised at how dirty the oil is on the 6.7. There must be a lot of egr that causes the high soot levels in the oil? It looks like old idi Diesel engine oil. I’m looking at getting an F-550 work truck so im doing a bit of research. How many miles on your oil?
Sorry, I dont remember what was on that last oil change. As far as the motor goes I just crossed over 230k. Its been a real workhorse. My only complaint is with the DEF system.
UnitedStatesofBuild I hear nothing but good things of the 6.7! The darn emissions systems have been the bane of diesel owners for sure. The new 6.7 for 2020 has some impressive specs with steel pistons and some durability upgrades over previous generations. I imagine if there isn’t any fuel related issues it will be a heck of an engine
Yeh, I keep hearing that the DEF stuff is going away then I hear its staying. Its killed a lot of roadside vegetation and been the cause of health problems for some people. Theres a large lawsuit in CA against the state. Who knows, I guess we will see where it goes.
UnitedStatesofBuild I’ve heard the same thing. Original I read that California was supposed to ban it by 2018 and that was 2016 I think when I first read that.
Well done video, voice over narration, no annoying background noises and no excessive information. Brilliant!
Thanks!
I agree!!

Clever, Ill have to keep that in mind! Thanks
Smart.. what do you punch the hole with ?
Helluva video, got a work truck that needs service next week
He didn’t prime his oil filter ladies an gentleman always prime your oil filter. You don’t wanna run your turbo dry. But other then that great video.
Thank u for taking the time to make this. Full of information and u explain everything thank u!!
always a good idea to mark your new filter with mileage & date of change. just in case.
Great video! Quick, informative and no study music.
nice video i fill the filter ,at hafl way ,on every oil change on my big engine ,with a turbo ,
Why not to fill up the new filter with fresh oil and the gasket will get oil film ?
Yeh, I know thats a popular technique. Ill have to try it out next time.
Did you replace your plug? Because my plug and a few others I’ve seen come with the yellow plug you turn that uses the 3/8 I believe.
Thx for the video. Where should the oil be on the stick when the engine is warm?
What tool are you using to remove the oil filter?
U really should prime the filter before installing, cavitation is real lol
Why not pre-fill filter.. I recommend it if you're filter is vertical... There's an up side ( immediate oil pressure) and no downside
Thinking the same
What if I put 15w-40 in it
How often for oil filters

If you want your vehicle to last fill up the oil filter with oil prior to installation. Auto mechanics 101

@@unitedstatesofbuild4915 I'm also interested??
I used to do that for fuel filter but haven't for oil filters before.

222,000 miles on that truck 1 yr 4 months from today, I think it has lasted quite well!
Didnt add oil to your filter??
Isn’t there 2 oil filters?
Gracias señor. Muy buen video
Why was the check engine light on?
Def heater
Is your truck deleted?
No, I wish it was...It has to be smogged every 2 years.
You can tell how how much soot my oil is see through after 7K

Isn’t there a filter on top of engine?
There is a fuel filter up on top
Yes, if its a 6.4
my 2015 f250 doesn’t even have that display on the dash wtf how does ur 2011 have that
Because you have a base model
yeah i figured that one out lol got a platinum now 😂
$18 per jug!?!? I just picked up some at autozone for $35 each
Why the fuck do the filters on all these 6.7s have oil all over them all the time? Is it leaking at the filter or above the filter housing?
Good question

WRONG. PRIME FILTER FIRST IS A MUST !!!!!!!!
Soooo same as a car?
