Totally loved it! What a beautiful collection of classic aircraft with the emphasis on taildraggers. I'm sure CFI's will be looking enviously at Concrete for checkrides. Any pilot who can make a good landing in that mechanical turbulence should be granted their license immediately.
Thank you for the video. I live within 1/2 mile of the west end of this runway, and all I was able to see was the bottom side of these airplanes. Great video.
@SimonButler yes is was a busy day, i got a sore neck from looking up. I spent part of the day watching the flights of Flightradar24. I enjoyed it, so when your video came up, I had to watch and subscribe.... enjoying your other videos now.
@@pipcop Thanks for the note, I was very young back then, dont know "N 140", I wish I could ask my dad. Chuck had many planes at Martha, T6, Beech 18, Tri pacer, Apache twin, and many more (13 total), we had a Saint Bernard dog!
@@sseim5654 he came Saturday, and I did not have the camcorder ready, I grabbed the DSLR and got some pictures. I regret not recording it, that Helio is from my home airport and I love watching him fly on windy days.
@SimonButler 🤣 sorry. The whole video is landings and then I saw the c150 and thought he used the whole runway to land and did a go around at the last second. My fault. Im sorry.
Great video from start to finish! Well done Simon! You captured some amazing aircraft, thanks for sharing. Best...Corrie
@@leftcoastcorrie Thank you! It was a really fun event to attend.
Very nice videography of interesting planes in a gorgeous location - Thank you.

@@bobwarner9952 that's awesome, I appreciate it. Tomorrow the video from Saturday is coming out. That was my last day there.
This is great! thanks for the great shots, lots of memory`s, Dad and I flew out of Martha Lake airport in the 60s 70s and early 80.
@@ChrisDrake-fn7nu That was before my time! That airport was unfortunately gone before I started flying.
Chris, were you and your dad part of the "Martha Lake Air force" in the 70's, do you remember "N140" ?

I usually ride my motorcycle down on the Saturday to check it out, but it was too damn hot that weekend. Looks like a nice time as usual.
@@CCitis it was seriously hot Saturday, especially before the wind picked up after noon.
@@SimonButler I know... I come down from Vancouver... wearing motorcycle gear... no go this year, sadly. Last year it was ok, and I enjoyed it!

The Luscombe in green and yellow was the most active participant at the event. He was up and down a good number of times...

Did you get the silver (unfinished) Helio Courier? Last year he all but hovered in place over the parking lot. A rare example...

Obviously a bit gusty and bumpy day. A good landing is the result of good approaches. Speed control and good crosswind techniques.
@@Mtnhiker56 indeed. The wind there is typically down the runway, but there's a lot of mechanical turbulence that makes approaches sporty.
The aircraft identified as a Piper Tri-Pacer is a Piper Pacer. It pre-dates the Tri-Pacer.
@@ray3maxwell look up the registration, and accident history. It's a Tri Pacer that wrecked, and was converted to a tail wheel.
2nd to last plane in the video needed to go around a long time ago. Why is it that it seems the planes were landing with a tail wind.
@@johnnywalker5635 the second to last plane in the video is the 152 that's taking off, I think.
