This clip has a 123 to 1 like/dislike ratio. The reason is because we can see Dr. Peterson's genuine desire to break through the Nietzschean dilemma and rescue the father from the belly of the whale to deliver the ancient but very relevant wisdom of my Master Teacher to millions of thankful individuals who needed it affirmed.

    • @TristanMark1

Thomas Zizzo theres nothing wrong with him checking into rehab. He went to rehab because the medication he was taking gives strong withdrawal symptoms so going into rehab was the most strategic decision, he left nothing to chance. Him going into rehab doesn’t discredit any of his teachings. There is a stigma associated with going into rehab and the media probably used that to make people doubt his work

I share your opinion, but it reveals a weak spot in Peterson: he denies the importance of group identity. It is not wrong for your to be proud of your countryman. One cannot be fully human if one is not part of a group. You must have a family, community and nation to be a proper human being. That is where your responsibility comes from and is directed to. The individualism which Peterson often champions actually disrupts that. There is a balancing act that needs to be done, and Peterson oftentimes goes too far in the individualist direction, out of a fear of being labelled "alt-right", "racist", "nationalist", or "anti-Semitic". Group identity is crucial to healthy human development. A man must be a good father, citizen, worker, husband, friend, and spiritual seeker. These all require groups. When he calls himself a "traditionalist", he is on absolutely solid ground. And a traditionalist is not an "individualist", even though a good traditional man must be a strong individual.

I was a socialist... not the vile ones, but still... now I am libertarian and advocate 100% for freedom and got a relatively well paid job as a software developer (and quite good at it!). Without him I wouldn't have dared to seek for such a job without a degree... which, as of today, I consider less and less valuable (at least for my personal goals). Otherwise I would have worked for some near minimum wage level brainless but exhausting bureau job with barely any prospect to improve myself.
Today I understand the world, people and myself much better than ever before, and seek to improve myself. Also I am able to evaluate my worth plus that of my work/productivity.

charlie saville People being manipulated don't notice the manipulation. Otherwise they wouldn't be manipulated. People that are manipulated are very bad at understanding themselves, otherwise they'd never fall for it. People being manipulated are also gullible, which in itself is prone to dangerous decision making. The vast majority of religious people would swear under oath that their life is fulfilled because of their belief in a deity or the afterlife. Yet when you ask those who became atheists, they almost always say that they feel much better than when they were religious and secular societies reflect that. The happiest countries in the world are without exception secular democracies. The more secular, the happier they are.
The testimony of those being manipulated is a very bad indicator for what's true and even how they interpret their own feelings.

I can’t believe how much this man has already helped me in my life I stopped complaining about many things which were my own fault. I started going to school, cleaning my room, changing my diet, starting to do sports again, began with driving lessons, told my mother and father that I like them, helped my sister cleaning her room for her most likely future boyfriend. He helped me out of my worst part of my life my girlfriend broke up with me a month ago and I decided to change and I already achieved so much It’s unbelievable for me i will try to keep going no matter how hard i am hit. Because the worst thing is to stay where I am so I’ll keep working on my self.

I have seen countless intellectuals talking out its elaborate ideas from a cold, and distant point of view. Mr. Peterson, is the only thinker who say the things that people need to hear, the difficult and simple truths of life. And he speaks from his heart, from everyday experiences. The level of his discourse is profound but tremendously real. Those tears reveal a soul that knows the meaning of pain , suffering and love for the individual.

For myself I can say: My father almost died of a heart attack. I saved his life. Had to call 911 and give him
resuscitation measures while I was talking to the respondsman on 911 while I was in deepest fear of him dying. He is now over 60. Im 26. We never had before a tight bond. We never cried in front of us. Now it changed. We even give us some hugs here and then. That never happened before. Jordan surely helped me on that way and I never hated my father, but with Jordan and the nearly death of my father I truely discovered how much I love my father. All other family members left us behind. But we supported each other the best way we can since ever and before. Thank you, Jordan. So thank you Jordan. Thank you, father.

I'm crying with him. I'm on the journey to making my life better right now; started reading 12 Rules yesterday and am almost finished. I'm so ready to escape this dread and I know the future is brighter because I can feel the light already. I've barely started, but I already want to shake this man's hand as firm as I can and thank him from the bottom of my heart.

Dr. Peterson takes so many enormously complex concepts, and wraps them up in terms that are understandable and relatable to the layperson. He has given me hope in a world that was almost completely drowned out by fear. I cannot thank this man enough for his efforts and for his humility and wisdom.

Golden Wizard I know, a man who has helped hundreds of thousands of people by turning their lives around for the better cant be good at all can he. People going up to him in their thousands and contacting him in the tens of thousands saying that he has brought them back from the brink means he is not genuine. Helping people with their lives in a positive way is terrible. My god are their really people like you in the world Golden wizard. How can he decieve if he has truly helped people and they have said so. Or maybe all those people are pretending to feel better, pretending that their lives are turning for the better. Do you not see a genuine person when you hear one. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!

Golden Wizard Have you watched this man school the far left media. Its fantastic to watch. Time and time again, oh yea baby. No one has got the better of him. But i guess he's just deceiving them isnt he. My goodness he has managed to decieve the entire mainstream media by schooling million dollar paid tv journalists. SCHOOLS THEM ALL. Love to see you up against him. He'd crush you like a grape, and you know it.

How are their lives "better" though? What "tools" specifically has he given people? All I hear is a bunch of baseless hero-worshiping from idiots who are in for the real fun when they graduate high school. He's a Charlatan - a fortune teller. Sure, some imbeciles think fortune tellers are giving them vital information, but they are just being manipulated. Bkuz obviously.

‘People need so little encouragement...’ That hits so hard. I live in a country where you’re not allowed to be proud of your achievements. Everyone who tries hard gets taken down most of the time. I try my best in everything I do. But I’m sure I would have even tried harder if people were positive and cheered each other on just a little bit.

Imagine hundreds, thousands of men and women with the courage to speak, teach, and love truth as JP does, ajd in their own unique way! There is cause for optimism. There always has been. It's just not always been as evident as this good man has presented it. Thank you JP! Congratulations to all who have had a shifted paradigm compounded by hope!!!

A few people have made comments about Peterson being like Christ, then explaining that they don’t mean it in a sacrilegious way. I have thought the same thing, and I am an atheist. I was raised christian, so I am quite educated in the christian doctrine, and as religion goes, it’s a good religion full of for the most part, good people. When I listen to Jordan’s teachings and how they touch people it feels like what it must have been like for people during Christ’s time to hear his message of love and feel his love for them. Perhaps what Jordan is doing for people of this new age is similar, but he doesn’t preach of God, he “preaches” love and of creating a society in which we can thrive and better the world for each other. (Perhaps he is the new age atheists’ answer to being the kind of person that Jesus wanted us to be, but without the promise of heaven and threat of hell to motivate us. His version of that threat is that we create our own heaven or hell right here on earth during our own lifetime.) Whatever it is, it is a message we all need now, and he is a sincere and charismatic prophet with an important message to millions who need it. God bless him (metaphorically speaking 😉.)

Although atheism is the denial or belief that there is no higher power
Jordan Peterson may not subscribe to a specificic religious doctrine, but he believes in a higher power, I believe.

I want more Jordan Peterson's in this world, I would to debate him he seems like he actually has a genuine idea of what's going on in the world. Smart not only smart but using reason and common sense, something that seems to be in short supply if not completely missing these days. I am a liberal/democrat, voted for hillary(not ashamed btw actually proud), and I am a fan of Jordan Peterson. He is a step in the right direction in my views not just for the right or left wing but for humanity as a whole.

Like how does someone like that exist, pure intention, genuine, kind, caring, factual, careful, thousands of people go out of their way to praise, thank or see him, changing lives. Like... This man will go down as a genuine legend. No exaggeration. He will be a legend, and he will be the best part of history.

You see a lot of people parading around and pretending how much they care about others, Peterson doesn't bother with this; he simply actually cares and shows an interest in the progression of others, and when asked about it he shows the value that he sees in the lives of others.
