I opened up to Dr Jordan B. Peterson about how his work has affected my life at the end of our podcast episode. How much better is the world for having Jordan’s work in it? It must feel so nice to hear this about your father. I can't imagine. I was a 28-year-old, pot-smoking, obese, suicidal loser before I found your father. Damnit, the emotional connection I have with this man is wonderful and equally terrifying.
It is because of the reason that he cries. He doesn't cry for himself...he cries on behalf of whoever he is speaking to or speaking about.

I have an extremely ecouraging, truthful, and good father (my mother really went to the gutters for a few years and he took full responsibility for us in the midst of a horrible betrayal and other atrocities).
He told me MUCH of what Jordan Peterson says. In fact, the most common thought I've had across all of JPs videos is "Holy shit, Dad said that!". Which is kind of crazy because dad is a hardworking machinist, does not read or watch videos, and he had no father whatsoever in his life. So i have absolutely no clue how he figured these things out. But the fuckery of it is, that I didn't understand it when dad said it. I was a kid, and for some reasons the lessons didn't take. I suspect it's because Dad just didn't articulate himself in a way that really struck me.
So not only has he provided encouragement that I very much needed, but my appreciation of my father has grown wildly. I imagine this situation isn't rare at all, but who knows?

I am from the Navajo Tribe and this mans teaching has awakened me. I'm sober 14 months thanks to his teachings and telling the truth. Also completed my first year of college with flying colors. Thank you sir. He truly helped me put order to the chaos in my life. Forever grateful.

I am a Malaysian in my 20s. I started reading Jordan Peterson since my Uni year and has been slowly improving myself by literally tidying my room. I take time once in a while to fix anything that might pose as an inconvenient and my life has improved drastically since then. I see myself as someone growing and who is willing to take on responsibility instead of a nihilistic young boy.
I started a business 2 years ago, which I never imagine I would, and is currently being acquire with a value of 6million. I am also in a very healthy relationship where both of us practise all 24rules from Jordan Peterson together. I wouldn't believe I could achieve any of this few year back.
Thank you Jordan Peterson for letting me stand straight with my back. I wish that I could tell Jordan Peterson this one day in person.
My sons brought Jordan’s lectures to my attention several years ago. Can’t begin to express the gratitude I have for his influence on my young adult children and myself. We have delved deeper into bettering ourselves mentally and physically as a result. Thank you Jordan!!

You need to harden yourself up and kick yourself in the ass. The only thing that matters in life is the actions you take, good or bad. Stop worrying and just do it, whatever you want to do. Make the best decisions for yourself and don't mind what everybody else is doing. Nobody cares how you think, feel or even if you die so you might as well be positive and happy.
Also, if you don't get what you want, just keep moving forward and do something else. Trust me, I am so happy I have NOT achieved certain goals instead of achieving them. You see, in life, there are cons and pros no matter what you do, and there's no magical pill towards the "perfect" life. It's just life.
This whole conversation was like reconciling with a parent when the toll your childhood took on them finally dawns on you.
Jordan Peterson is the father figure that so many men haven't had the privilege of having in their lives. His vision, direction, and guidance is clear, logical, and instinctively the correct human approach to life and navigating it's windy course. Thanks JP!
So true. I have a father, he exists, but we couldn't be more disconnected at the relationship level. We've never had a beer together, never had a father/son chat, he's never given me advice, I don't know what his core values are (and if he has them, he doesn't convey them in any way). I was simply a "useless little shit" (his words) when I was a kid.
There's so many people like me that JP has saved from a dark place. I can only laugh when I see him being called a "grifter" online. This man has put more thought into the way out of suffering than anyone I've ever known.
As a young boy who grew up with no father. Jordan Peterson has been an immensely helpful father figure to me. I can't thank him enough for what he has done. I will be forever in his debt.

I like the guy. He’s constantly overwhelmed by love and hate. Truth is I think he’s just a good guy, a great thinker and a good inspiration. The word just is probably inappropriate. Too many people give him a god complex and I think the media trashing him is part of that- making us love him more. Truth is he’s a good person, very smart guy, wants to help. He sacrificed a LOT in his own life, brought a lot of misery on himself, at a time when VERY few were willing to stand up and has had a massively positive impact on people, especially young men. As a woman, I really appreciate the work of Jordan Peterson. As a person who studied philosophy I really love the perfect reasoning and the role model Jordan Peterson plays. In my humble opinion Philosophy is a way of living and somehow Jordan Peterson is a father image for a lot of us. 😌🙏

My absolute favorite part of Jordan Peterson are his stories on how much admiration he has when he's talking about someone he cares about. He speaks so highly of them.

Hand on heart, two years ago I was crying in the rain in the middle of the night dragging shards of a broken tea mug across my arms. I was completely broken, I had made so many bad choices and seemed incapable of stringing together any good ones. I somehow came across the JP lecture on the tragedy of Peter Pan. It hit me in a way that you only understand if you felt it; you freeze at the moment you are seen. The facade you show to the world is meaningless. I watched everything I could find from him over the next month and gradually started to get my life back together. More importantly, over this last year, I have helped others get their life together. It is not hyperbolic to say that this man saved my life. Thank you for trying to express this to him

@Shorts Milionários he never claimed to be anything new, quite the opposite, he writes about what we have known from the outset and that's his proposal, to recover the ancient knowledge we have been slowly forgetting. The difference is he is a clinical psychologist with decades of experience and a top tier researcher, not some pretentious person writing on the internet (ironically enough).
"Show me your friend and I will show you your character". We are his friends. And for so many men to come to him in a kind and polite manner shows Jordan Peterson's character.
I was also a miserable guy in my mid to late twenties. I consider myself lucky to know about Dr Peterson at the right time. I have watched hours of his interviews and read his book. And it changed my perspective on struggles, sufferings and how to approach things in life and how to receive things in life. Thank you Dr Peterson.
My goodness, I’m balling my eyes out at 3am, having my coffee watching this after my husband has gone off to start work (h’es a shift worker, so the whole family is). Dr Petersen has had a profoundly positive effect on both my husband and I, and the life path we are treading together, so thank you so much Chris for this open, honest and wonderful sharing of your emotion and your thanks on our behalves to the incredibly humble and lovely JP. A pebble at the top of an intellectual avalanche...perfect!

He helped me remember to be accountable for the shitty choices I’ve made in a span of those 2 to 3 yrs. I’m very grateful for this man and the words he speaks. I think Jordan Peterson is one of the fewest people I've seen speak who can articulate his thoughts so perfectly.
I have a very hard time expressing or explaining my thoughts and emotions and the way he does it is so effortlessly.
I’d carry pieces of Jordans suffering any day and at any time, and I write this because he taught me how to be a man and let go of the boy. I truly wish him health, meaning and happiness for many years to come. What a great man.

In his book,"12 Rules for life",the title of a chapter alone was deep even before I read what is written in that chapter.
Rule 4 "Compare yourself to who you were yesterday,not to who someone else is today".People like Jordan are hard to come by and if one finds him,he must respond as if he discovered a treasure.

This rule always hits me. I'm an aspiring bodybuilder, so it's hard not to compare myself to other people and get sad about it. But then I think of Jordan's words.

I’m at 44 year old woman and JP saved my life. When I cried so many tears for so many months, when I couldn’t stand the things my mind would say, I’d put on JP and he helped me understand things that I couldn’t on my own. I’m grateful beyond words.

I'm a 62 year old and I'm in tears. How wonderful to see so much respect from both of them!! Joran Peterson, if you ask me, is a Messiah.
He's literally one of those people that only come once in a generation. Jordan peterson is one of those rare breed that encompasses every aspect of what men should be. He uses his skill and knowledge to help others to a profound degree. All I can say to him is thank you.
In the midst of world wide chaos, it is so rewarding to listen to this conversation. Gotta love both of these men. Iron John lives on.....

I noticed how he gets tears in his eyes each time he talks about how he changed lives and you can see the love he has for others and how he really wishes we can all be better. Such moments always touch me, his heart is so big. And a big heart and tons of intelligence can do wonders. I am very grateful to have found out about him and his work. He is truly a blessing for us all.
No matter how much he gets accolades, he always punts it right back. Humility at its finest.

This is so so true! I'm a counsellor and have found Peterson's work immensely and continually helpful to me personally and to my work. We spoke about him in a session the other day in fact! x

Chris thanks for speaking up and giving us hope that there are people like you out here. Gives me hope. JP is an important figure and certain people attempt to belittle him but we can't be afraid to speak the truth and hold him up high and speak his words loudly.

Some people do belittle him which is a bit much but there are some very valid criticism such as him being a liar and a dishonest intellectual and to be frank sexist.

I am a South African young man who first knew Jordan Peterson 2 years ago. I started taking responsibility for my life and everyone around me started to notice my existence. All along I was invincible, now people repect me dearly. The way I speak and conduct myself amazes people and I just learned that from watching his youtube videos. I wish to meet him one day just to say "Thank you". May God bless him.

Took me two attempts to watch this cos it made me so emotional. Only been able to cry for a week since changing from an SSRI anti depressant. Such a relief to be able to let it out. Just hope it works. Channels like this really help. Thank you both. 👏👏
You ended exactly how I felt. I too would take on a share of his suffering. What a guy and it’s an example of how unfair this place is when a man who helps so many has to suffer so much.

I discovered Chris through his interview with Jordan Peterson. Now I can’t stop watching his videos. He is by far the best speaker on a podcast out there. I’m looking forward to his future videos.

He's not leading a Nazi movement, he's leading an intellectual movement on "cleaning your damn room" and standing up like you have a spine! He doesn't want to take over anyone's world, he wants them to take over their own.

This made me feel quite emotional watching you both converse. Nothing can beat the feeling of being able to pass on your heartfelt appreciation to someone you admire, because of what you have learnt from or through them and then to know they are touched and surprised back at what a positive impact they have had on your life. You are so composed and put together such great questions that are part insight, part curiosity and part feedback, very inspiring to watch.
I somehow regret that I can only say "thank you". I wish there is a way or a word to express my grattitude to this man. He saved my life and made my suffering bearable. Thank you very much Jordan Peterson.
There are very few special people left in the world. Jordan is one of them. The level of empathy in his heart is overflowing. We must protect this man at all costs!
All people are special, people just aren't living their lives anymore. Jordan will go down in history as one of the greats.
To spend a few minutes explaining to someone why you appreciate them and how they have improved and impacted your life is the best gift that you can give to someone. More people should say out loud how much they appreciate others around them that provide a service or value. Thank you for showing us an example. Stay awesome! Both of you.
History will remember Jordan very well. His influence has been profound and underestimated. A true leader and someone to be emulated. He isn’t without his critics but they too shall come to appreciate his greatness in time
