Hi Damien, if you are still considering the TAC you might want to consider our new preferred way to do it is as a 2 Day Tongariro Alpine Crossing - it avoids the crowds and offers an even more unique lunar landscape, and you can pop up to the summit of Mt. Togariro too: th-cam.com/video/pY6U7ULeTEM/w-d-xo.html. Ciao.

Thanks Tim - just saw your comment, sorry for tardy response. I've just finished watching your fabulous Kaikoura train trip - what a magnificent train ride and phenomenal effort to get the highway and train back on track!!! WOW. Ciao.

Thank you for sharing, you obviously have a passion for the outdoors. I hiked Mt. Saint Helens four years ago and was surprised by how much the vegetation had recovered....Keep up the great work....Andrew

Hi Andrew. Sorry for my tardy response (misssed your comment somehow:( ). Mt St Helens sounds fascinating - can't believe it was so long ago that half the mountain departed!! I was looking back at the footage, just yesterday, and was mesmerised, again, by the raw power of nature! Can you detect a crater - has it sunk? Have recently done a video on the 2 Day Alternative Tongariro Crossing, but our Mt Ruapehu Crater Climb was even more spectacular! Thanks for watching. Happy Hiking.

People watching this in 2019 should be aware that the Volcanos you are wandering around on ,erupt when they feel like it,AKA White island. Please enjoy our beautiful dynamic living land, remember that this land isn't dead, is growing, twitchs several times a day.and stretches at will.Like any child. The small towns are wonderful places to bring up children.
The people like any other Folk, but are more compassionate than most.Im proud of my land at the end of the Earth in Taranaki.

Hi James, I quite agree and am equally proud of my land too - kiwis are generous hearted people. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones on White Island. Tongariro has warning systems which should never be ignored, but there again volcanos are not 'polite' and unpredictable. Take care, Ciao.

New Zealand’s magical Tongariro Alpine Crossing (TAC) is an exhilarating one day walk. Even more spectacular is the 2 Day Tongariro Alpine Crossing from Waihohonu, including Mt Tongariro - it's less crowded too! It is worth considering if you have the time. You get an overview of the National Park not afforded by the 1 day crossing. Happy Hiking.

Would you happen to know if this track is clear/marked (obvious where to go) at all times? I'm thinking of doing this hike myself and don't want to get lost :P Are there any unmarked sections except for climbing the summit of Ngauruhoe?

Hi I-Make-Stuff. The Track is clearly marked and there are plenty of hikers on the Track too. Consider doing the 2 Day Alternative Tongariro Crossing if you have time:) Thanks for watching. Happy Hiking:)
