Mom Great Job. Mom's can do anything I thank God for my Mom like this women Her children are/were everything. For this I'm and these little kids are Blessed. To all the Mom's from the bottom of your kids hearts thank you and may God Bless You Daily. God Bless Everyone.
Thank you for the video :) It's cool that you planned it out so well before actually building. I'm trying to do the same thing for my room in my small apartment. Also, it's so sweet to see you DIYing for your kids.
I bought a 4ft x 8 ft of the mdf board. But make sure to check the dimensions of you brand of cubes. One side is slightly longer than the other even though its supposed to be square on mine. My cubes dimensions required my cuts to be 2 pieces at 24" x 46 total and 1 piece at 40" x 46". The extras pieces I used as a lip for the mattress. If you have a big enough vehicle you can skip the 3 piece cut and just keep it one piece.
You would have to use a 3x2 cube instead of the 2x2 cube I used in order to get that 54in width. Then the MDF board would need another piece to get it to 54in wide.
I can't remember the price of the cubes. I already had the black shelf. The 4 gray 2x2 cubes I got at target when they had the 40% off storage sale. Then the 4x8ft 3/4" mdf was around $50.
Target states 55lbs top load for each 4 cube. And there are 4 of those 4 cubes. Then the 8 cube is a side load(unsure weight limit since it was so old I couldn't find the exact product listing)
For someone who doesn't have an ikea near finding a video with all target supply was amazing.

One question could this project work with a full size bed?

What size board did you use for the platform?
I used an 8ft x 4ft MDF board.
