Girrrlll... Nine cubbies down the street on the corner. 😂 😂 You should'a seen me wrangling it into the boot of my car! But I did it, unloaded it when I got home, and now it resides happily in my craft room. The whole setup totally reminds me of you! 😘 Oh!! And Odie's right here and he wants one of those cat trees. Love you my friend. Prayers for you for some peace and relief from whatever's going on. Hugs Mini, 🤗 🤗🤗❤️
I don't have much kitchen storage, so I bought a black, 9 cubby storage unit and I put it under my stairs. With black bins it totally hides all kinds of small kitchen items. They are there if I need them, but well hidden when not in use. This has allowed me to be more organized within my kitchen cupboards. I keep a directory to remind me of what I have in each bin for quick retrieval.
Hi Norrine! I've missed a lot of your videos, cause I'm traveling all over. You know I LOVE cubbies! In these tips, I especially loved the bedroom ones (the only room I don't have them in ye) But each one was cuter and better than the one before, so now I have a dillemma! But thanks so much for all the great tips!
So good to see another video from you Norine! I have several IKEA Kallax units. I had to move about 6 months ago -- very unexpectedly and very quickly! I had one 3 X 4 unit, 2 - 2 X 4 units and several bookcases that were used to divide up the large room I had been renting in a home. I decided that since I had to find an apartment -- I couldn't find another room and board situation on short notice (the house I was living in was suddenly sold to the homeowners' and my astonishment). I am in an older building with 1 bedroom, a small kitchen and a huge living room. I decided that the living room was going to be my craft room/sewing room. I have the 3 X 4 unit on a full wall with an IKEA cart with my ironing board on top next, then a 2 X 4 unit and a large plastic bin (for paper patterns that are rolled up) in the corner. The second 2 X 4 unit is on the adjoining wall and then the two bookcases. This way (if I ever get things out of boxes) I will have all my fabrics in the Kallax units as well as 2 cubbies for sewing notions and "immediate" needs when I'm sewing and another one for craft tools. There is a table attached to two of the units so that I can sew on one table and then just swing right in my chair to use the iron, or turn 180 deg. to use my cutting surface. I know exactly how I want it to be set up -- its far from done! I have been really struggling with all the boxes (well labeled boxes) that were placed so I could get at them easily. I love to sew and want to sew but after 6 months I'm not there :( I have had a cousin come in several times to help -- we always get sidetracked. My sister came for a few days while I was moving and she and my cousin got my kitchen set up -- that was what I knew they could do as they "work" in their kitchens in much the same way I do -- except that their kitchens are much larger! That's OK. I knew I would be able to find things. The short part of the long story is that I can't seem to get past the plan in my head and just get one thing done,. The timer should work, I get distracted. Its a total disaster. As I have gone through a few boxes there is a large donation box building up and I have sent out many, many bags with stuff that isn't of use to anyone but I was holding onto "just in case". However, none of that has happened in the last 5 months. I all happened in the first month when I promised myself I would unpack 1 box a day and any others that I got done would be a bonus. I did do that for a month and then it fell apart. I'm frustrated with myself. I won't let anyone into my apartment -- it looks like a hoarder lives here. I don't have the funds to hire an organizer -- and I DO know how to do this, I just can't seem to get it done. Sorry for the long post. I feel quite helpless.
Sit with yourself and see if you can find out what the part of you that does not want to unpack is all about… Fear of something. Mourning the past? Something is holding you back. It might be something very small and if you listen to your resistance with compassion you may learn something important to your journey. ❤
You would probably be surprised how many of us understand how you feel. When I was married, I never had time or money to do hobbies. My marriage was crap, I found the courage to move children & myself out. I then focussed on getting the boys sorted & settled, then tried to find work, but there was very little around school hours. My boys moved out, I bit the dust, (nothing to give meaning to my life.) It is now 33+ years I've been on my own. My eldest son passed after an accident, other son is happily (Thank God) married with a 13 yo daughter & lives 16+ hours away from me, & has no need/use for me. I know he loves me, just won't talk to me. I now have what I have always craved - a home of my own (rented, but mine), enough crafts, sewing, courtyard, my own car - I don't like having people in my house as it's always messy, & I'm ashamed of it. I don't even like going out to shop. I live close to the ocean, & I still can't seem to get myself going!!!! I have no reason not to be happy.
My brain has been in the wilds for two years trying to decide the best possible arrangements for my ‘craft’ room and keep coming back to Kallax/Alex over and over to make the most of it. We have a very VERY small house; 2 br/2ba in 640sf. The second bedroom has a LOT going on because it has stackable laundry, full bath, twin bed with trundle for guests, my sewing/crafting area AND a back door in a 12x16 footprint. I’ve been back and forth with so many different thoughts but the versatility of these ideas is winning.
I have a large number of nine bin ones, that took the place of kitchen cabinets and dressers in a basement apartment! Now I have new ideas on using them! Blessed holidays!
Nice to see you again!! Awesome ideas!! I will looking into how I can used them in my house!! Thanks for sharing!! Just love your ring!! So beautiful!!
I've been binge watching you since last night! I found you when looking for a way to store fabrics & paper of all sizes & have been watching everything you do since!
I have one of those 6 cube units from Michael's and I've still not gotten to assemble it. Sadly at it's narrowest part is 24" but the space I wanted to have better storage in the closet I showed you pictures of, is barely 23 & 1/2" so nope it won't fit there either. Oh well. Yep added this to my favorites of your videos. See you next year. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
So happy to see you Norrine! I have missed watching your videos, I love my storage cubes- can't wait to get them out my storage to use again in this house. Thank you for sharing some ideas that I hadn't thought of.
Hello Norrine, it’s wonderful seeing you again. Over the years we’ve used a great plenty of these ideas! Some new awesome ideas 🤔 The doll house!!! Thank you for being here for us 🥰🙏🏻✝️ ❤️😀
I have a four bay cube storage which we put onto casters. The back was closed in with a piece of ply. I use it for some of my scrapbooking supplies both in the cubes and on top. As it is on casters it is easy to move for cleaning and finding items accidentally dropped behind.
Love these storage. I have a 9 cubie I use for Planners, books, etc. I never thought of using them for records - what a great ideal. I would love to make a craft table using them.
Great to see you back, and you look fantastic! Love all the ideas for the cubbies. Now I just need to find a place in my house where I can use them. Looking forward to the next video.
So good to see you..... Excited to see what's coming.. I have two towers that have glass sides..I set them on either side of my TV and stand.. Then I place the leaf from my table across the top... Works great
Last year we decorated the living room and I wanted to make a division as it is an 'L' shape, bought a kallax unit and hey presto. Looks good. Also in my hallway upstairs I have 2 kallax units one for towels, and records, the other slightly smaller with bedding, curtains and tablecloths. Perfect with the textile boxes
I love the idea of making a bed platform. I could use it in the spare bedroom & put excess or out of season craft supplies. I took 3 of the 4 unit cubbies, added legs and an old piece of very large shelving we already had and used it on top. It is my perfect craft island.
Thank you for another idea. I bought the most beautiful glass table years ago, that I don't want to part with, but it doesn't get used other than to store junk on. I also have 3 storage cubes that I don't want to part with. 2 can go in the garage, and I just decided 1 can be painted up, & used as the support for an extra workbench up against and partially over the table!! Of course now I have to do it!!!! Thank you!!!
I really enjoyed this. I was given several plastic milk crates many years ago. They've been bookcases, toy storage, basement organization, and now they hold planters on our balcony. Tina, Al's wife
Glad you’re back. I used 2 of the 8 cube kallax units to build my home office desk. I have them in an L shape configuration which gives me a ton of desk space plus storage beneath.
Hi Norrine. Good to see you. I have used and will be using again soon, the desk hutch idea, the room divider with a 20 hole cubby, sideways on the floor stacking smaller ones on top, on their sides as well to make a pyramid shelving unit along the middle of a wall, and my cat is currently using one as her personal play area, so I had to clean my things out of it and replace toys and mats, etc for her. Youe given me a few more ideas too.
Such a well timed video! I literally just moved last weekend and now have a small room just for crafting! I have 2 3x2 cube organizers and wasn't sure how to incorporate them in the new space. Thanks for the great ideas!
I had a new storage Idea Last night. You know These slim planters for the balcony or window sills? You can use those as compartments for groceries in the kitchen cabinet (with the semi-square Side facing the Front). You can also Put the least used or unopened stuff wayyy in the Back of it. You can pull the planter towards yourself to get to the stuff. They are sooo affordable!!
Great cube ideas, but couldn't stop admiring your back wall behind you, with "gutter" ribbon storage. And just saying your outfit is so cute! Keep up the great videos🙂
So glad to see you, love your videos. I have these in my craft room and made a desk with 4 two squares on the ends with the desk board on top . It’s great but I’m thinking of rearranging it somehow better, some of the photos you showed are giving me ideas.
Great ideas!❤ I’m really glad that you are going to be easy on yourself for the season! Everyone has so much on their plate this season, we want only the best for you, and we can wait. ❤❤❤
I've got these all over my house! One in the master closet for folded clothes, one under the bar in the kitchen/dining room for cook books and a big one in my craft room for yarn storage.
If you are using them for records make sure they are at least 12 inch by 12 inch. There are cubbies that have smaller dimensions and LPs won't fit. Also reinforce the back with plywood if they don't have a back or just have a thin back. There are a lot of how to videos on how to make them.
These are great ideas. I really want to use these to update and create extra storage in my bedroom closet. I am also looking for ways to update my living room closet. I think the cube storage will work perfectly. After seeing your ideas I can think of all kinds of ways to use them. As always you get my creative juices flowing. Thanks Norene.
So happy to see your happy face! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I love my Ikea cube units for my sewing room. Two 8 cubes on their sides, a custom cut top to cut on and where my sewing machine goes. Two 8 cube units on each side of the windows on end, then a tall CD holder each side, in the middle a four cube with a top that extends over it for a TV and baskets on each side. Another wall has a Ikea unit with many different size cubbies. I have 40 cubes plus the uni t with different size cubbies. I use containers from Costco to store my fabric, two will fit in each cubbie. I love my sewing room.
Missed your face!!!😄 This video was very cool. I'm obsessed with some of those cat towers, and that bed with all the cubes on the 2 adjacent walls like a giant pyramid is so amazing!!! Take care of yourself, don't try to go too big too soon and burn out...maybe you could share the 12 Shares of Christmas?...maybe see if some other TH-camrs would want to collaborate...you don't have to do everything by yourself!!!
I have a unit with 9 cubbies for my easy access supplies and tools. It has been really handy. The bookshelf I'd had in there before really didn't do much for me. It always looked jumbled.
@@TheCraftyOrganizer we used L brackets on the back. You can't see them. I have far enough down from the ceiling that I can reach them and use the top if I want.
Happy to see you Norrine! Love these kinds of storage! I have 2 of the Ikea bookcases with glass doors and I keep mostly yarn in them but also use it for my paper crafting storage! Thank you for sharing! 💜
Ooh, lucky! My mother and I have been wanting those for a few years now. However, the sticker shock of how much shipping costs from IKEA is ridiculous! Even though they've recently halved the cost, it's still a bit much.
I am no using the storage cubes featured in your video but I am using something similar. I bought a big bank of old lockers on facebook marketplace. I love the vintage & industrial look and labeled what's in each locker with a dymo labeler. Inside, I have plastic pullout bins to help me get to all the items in each locker.
I use them in my sewing room. I have 2 9 holes and 1 6 hole. The 6 hole is on top of one of the 9 hole. I have fabric bins in some and others hold fabric wrapped on comic boards. I can see lots of fabric this way and use it because I see it.
I have 1 on my desk as a hutch, 1 in my bedroom, where each bin holds 1 set of bedlinen, and 1 in my living room for yarn. I get mine from Kmart Australia at ridiculously low prices, but the cubbies are only 11in so they don't fit the 12in papers.
Girrrlll... Nine cubbies down the street on the corner. 😂 😂 You should'a seen me wrangling it into the boot of my car! But I did it, unloaded it when I got home, and now it resides happily in my craft room. The whole setup totally reminds me of you! 😘
Oh!! And Odie's right here and he wants one of those cat trees.
Love you my friend. Prayers for you for some peace and relief from whatever's going on. Hugs Mini, 🤗 🤗🤗❤️
Oh my gosh! That is too funny!! We really are so alike. lol
I don't have much kitchen storage, so I bought a black, 9 cubby storage unit and I put it under my stairs. With black bins it totally hides all kinds of small kitchen items. Nice to see you again, you were misssed. You look terrific!
Great ideas. I screenshot about six pictures that I could modify for my storage uses.
I haven't done it yet but i have always wanted to use them to make a entry bench to store shoes.
Yes!!!! Such a good idea!
Those doll houses are so adorable I wish I was 7 years old again! 😉💕
Good to see your smiling face and pleasant attitude. Love the cubby ideas.
Cubbies are my favorite type of furniture. Right now I'm using mine for a sewing station.
I used cubes for printer paper, my office spplies, all in a closet. Love your ideas, Noreen.

Many of us have felt this way at some point. Just do something every day.
Sit with yourself and see if you can find out what the part of you that does not want to unpack is all about… Fear of something. Mourning the past? Something is holding you back. It might be something very small and if you listen to your resistance with compassion you may learn something important to your journey. ❤
Completely empathise. Pick a small section and focus on that. Reward yourself when done!

Hi Norinne, is this getting through. I am not sure how to do this
Love your craft area! Can you share some pictures please???
Nice to see you again!! Awesome ideas!! I will looking into how I can used them in my house!! Thanks for sharing!! Just love your ring!! So beautiful!!
I learned from a crafty lady on TH-cam to use a collapsable bin as a spray box. So convenient❣️ P.S. I don’t use toxic sprays in the bin.🤗💕🦋
I've been binge watching you since last night! I found you when looking for a way to store fabrics & paper of all sizes & have been watching everything you do since!
Thank you for sharing! These are great ideas. Glad to see you again, too!
I buy mine from Walmart. They are very affordable for me and they look like ikea’s.
Beautiful creative ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Cubbies are so versatile- I never thought to use them to make a kitchen island- I love that idea!!!

I know they get a bad wrap for being 'cheap'... but I think they are amazing!
I think when they get moved around alot, it weakens them. I have had mine for over 4 years and never a problem.
Hi Norrine...lovely to see you. love your lipstick color
Thank you 👄💄
Noreen, so glad to see you. Those ideas were wonderful. I plan on a couple if them. I want to do the laundry and bedroom ones.
I use a storage unit in my craft room but I want to do so many other things with them. Love all these ideas. Thank you Noreen
You are so welcome!
Works great
That is amazing! I've not seen glass units!!!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer they're not like those.....t they're tall units with glass sides and shelves but the table leaf works great
Norrine your the best, thank you for all you do and have a very crafty peace filled Holliday 🎉🌠
Our bed is lifted so we have sooo many cubes. You can go under our bed, has a head board n footboard. All cubes.

Such inspirational ideas, love it!
So glad! Thank you for watching!
Wow, you had some great children’s under the bed bed ideas!
Thank you Norrine!!!! What a bunch of great ideas!!!!
THIS IS NOT NORRINE - OR THE CRAFTY ORGANIZER - IT'S SPAM!!!! DO NOT INTERACT.
Fantastic video!! Thank you for all the amazing ideas💕💕💕
I love the dollhouse one!
I love these! I use them in my classroom as storage and turned on their side as a bench for additional seating. My kiddos love it!
I used the rain gutters for paint storage that I saw you do thanks
I really enjoyed this. I was given several plastic milk crates many years ago. They've been bookcases, toy storage, basement organization, and now they hold
planters on our balcony. Tina, Al's wife
Hi Norrine, so happy to see you. Thanks for the great ideas using the storage bins. Love the idea for the cats.
Great ideas. Thank you
Glad you’re back. I used 2 of the 8 cube kallax units to build my home office desk. I have them in an L shape configuration which gives me a ton of desk space plus storage beneath.

You can pull the planter towards yourself to get to the stuff.

Great idea! I will have to try that out!
So good to see you!!
Good idea to reinforce the back with hardboard or plywood.
Also, like to use foot tall 3 drawer dressers in the cubbies. Great for detailed storage.
Hi! Hi I will check those units out. I love how verities they are. I am thinking about a make over in my room. Tfs
I wish you lived in my area
I have a craft room but it is one more mess!!!!
I have my storage and my bins but I just can’t get it organized

Great cube ideas, but couldn't stop admiring your back wall behind you, with "gutter" ribbon storage. And just saying your outfit is so cute! Keep up the great videos🙂
Thank you so much!!! :)

Yay!!!! So glad I could help!
i love the bed idea
I hope to get to see your amazing space next time I'm out your way. xoxox
Thank you, friend!!! Xoxox
@@TheCraftyOrganizer you are so very welcome! Oh, I just love you to pieces!
Love these ideas so much!
That was absolutely fantastic. I've never seen so many good ideas! Thank you.
Norine, Great ideas. Some I had never thought of before. I have a unit that I keep supplies & tools for card making.
Very good video!
Thank you!
great to see you
One of my daughters has cubby storage and several are cat hideaways. They love little spots like that
I have a unit with 9 cubbies for my easy access supplies and tools. It has been really handy. The bookshelf I'd had in there before really didn't do much for me. It always looked jumbled.
My cubes are wall mounted and yarn is stored in them. On the opposite wall I can I use the style cube with mixed media supplies in fabric cubes.
What method did you use to attach them to the wall?
@@TheCraftyOrganizer we used L brackets on the back. You can't see them. I have far enough down from the ceiling that I can reach them and use the top if I want.
I love all your ideas!
LOVE the desk idea, especially for crafting!!
Thanks so much 😊
Happy to see you Norrine! Love these kinds of storage! I have 2 of the Ikea bookcases with glass doors and I keep mostly yarn in them but also use it for my paper crafting storage! Thank you for sharing! 💜
Thank you, Diane!!!
Ooh, lucky! My mother and I have been wanting those for a few years now. However, the sticker shock of how much shipping costs from IKEA is ridiculous! Even though they've recently halved the cost, it's still a bit much.
Love all these creative ideas!!!
Yay! Thank you!
Very helpful! Thank you!
Great ideas Norrine. 🕉️🐞
A different size in Australia? That is amazing and I would never have known!!
@@TheCraftyOrganizer The IKEA ones are the same size all over the world, but yeah - the Kmart ones are smaller. :)
