      So far so good! No problems to report, just lots of lifting. Maybe it’s time for a 1+ year update video...

    I just purchased this lift and getting ready to assemble. The kit came with a steel pipe that basically runs the length of the lift. I believe it's part of mechanical lock system. The instructions are horrible.. It's approximately 1" in diameter and a little over 12' in length. The pipe was loose (Not assembled or attached to the runway) Any thoughts.. Thanks

    • @ZeroToAwesome
      @ZeroToAwesome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that sounds like the bar that connects the front and rear locks. I believe it’s left loose because you can install the lock release lever on either runway.

      @@ZeroToAwesome Is there anyway you can shoot me a pic of that Mechanical lock bar ( The steel pipe measuring approx 12' long ) and how you attached it to the two small pipes at each end that disengages the locks. The instructions suck and the hardware provided for this appears to be missing.. Everything else went smoothly but I'm stuck and trying to get in touch with Greg Smith Equipment for help has proven difficult.. If you can help that would be awesome..Thanks

    love the 55-what was the decision making process behind the purchase of the lift? ie...why did he choose Atlas?

    • @ZeroToAwesome
      @ZeroToAwesome  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It pretty much came down to convenience. I knew I wanted to install it myself and arranging a fork lift to get the lift off a delivery truck was going to be a pain. Atlas has a distribution center 30 min from my house where they’d load it for me so that made it an easy decision. They also give a discount for local pickup

    How did you lift that top ramp (with the hydraulic shaft) off the frame when unboxing it? Reason I ask is because I’m currently trying to move my Atlas off the trailer and it’s heavy AF.

    • @ZeroToAwesome
      @ZeroToAwesome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We sacrificed our backs! It’s pretty heavy but my brother and I could lift it for short periods of time. We used a floor jack to get it into position

    • @panthers865
      @panthers865 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zero To Awesome haha yeah, figured some temporary pain was necessary. When lifting it off the trailer, did you simply lower it onto the bed and push it onto the moving dollies (similar to how you did the second)? I appreciate the help!

    • @ZeroToAwesome
      @ZeroToAwesome  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think we used a dolly in the trailer too, but yeah, did them both pretty much the same way. You could try building a little scaffold of some sort with a come along to lift the beast. A mini crane of sorts

    • @panthers865
      @panthers865 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Zero To Awesome reporting back: had some buddies come by and we lifted those suckers straight off the trailer, onto some dollies and then flipped them on the frame. I only have the cables and hydraulics left to do.

    Great video. Very helpful to those looking to install one of these.. Like me!! On that note, what is the height of your ceilings from the floor?

    • @ZeroToAwesome
      @ZeroToAwesome  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      10’ 4”. Most places say you only need to account for the width of the ramps between cars (4 inches here), but I like to lower the lift down onto the safety stops for storage so I’d say you need to count on an extra 2-3 inches to engage/release the locks.
