    I like this lift because it is mobile and does not require drilling holes in the floor. I worked on a 2 post most of my adult life but that feature makes a HUGE positive that a 2 post can't touch. Price is right as well. Man I can't wait to build a garage now.

    I love the part at the beginning where you talk about why you used a box truck. Then as you were sitting in the truck there was a long roll back wrecker driving by that would have been a perfect vehicle to haul it on. Just tilt the bed and slide it into the garage... I used to be a master tech at one time and used inground lifts( I prefer inground). I will probably go with a 2 post for my shop eventually. The ground is just too far away when you go down and gravity is too strong when you need to get up.

    As i watched your assembly, i would put the tube bushings that you put between the jam nut and the welded rod coupling , underneath in the raceway and instead place it outside , between the frame and the tee piece to which the pull rods attach to. This give you a controlled distance (stand off) at both ends on the outside, with controlled minimal sliding play.

      I keep leaning towards a 2 post for myself. At work we use 2 posts to also lift bodies off frames which is stupidly easy. A four post lift you cant really do that with it. But I myself have been getting spoiled with the 4 post we have at work as well as its easier as all you do is simply drive on and you are done. No moving vehicle around to get the arms to align on the frame properly for a stable lift.

    FYI, you did not install the lock linkage correctly. At time 22.22, you have one of the two sleeve spacers sandwiched between 2 lock nuts. This is wrong. The 2 spacers are between the crossbeams and the linkage arms (they are spacers front and back). The linkages were also not attached to the arms correctly. Wildfire is working on updating the lift instructions and making more clear the linkage assembly section of the installation

    I know you want to move the lift around the shop, but I need to agree with these other posters saying to bolt it down. Imagine this. (You are standing in front of the lift, guiding a younger crew member onto it with, say, the Fairlane wagon. You wave your hands and say "That's good. Hit the breaks." 2 1/2 tons of Detroit steel and iron come to a halt. What does physics tell us? 5 thousands pounds of force is now pushing against the lift, wanting to keep momentum moving forward, causing the entire lift to either slide, or fold over.) I would suggest drilling holes in the floor and using anchor bolts. That way you can still unbolt it, lift it over the bolts, and then move it for storage.

    • @sethdae
      @sethdae 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A vehicle is loaded with the lift at it's lowest position. There is no risk of it folding over when loading. The risk comes from an external force (ie another vehicle bumping into an upright while another is loaded above). That is the reason for bolting down. Also, using bolts with anchors rather than studs in the floor avoids a trip hazard.

    Just got my Wildfire XLT. The product is good quality. They sent me the incorrect bridge jack and the lift was damaged in transit. Neither Wildfire or ABF (freight company) want to take ownership for the damages. My conclusion... if you live close enough to pick it up yourself in Minnesota, go for it. If you pay $500+ for shipping, you are on your own when it arrives damaged.

      My comment was when YOUR BIG GUY !! WAS PULLING THE LIFT OUT OF THE TRUCK WEARING SANDALS. It's not lift ,it's putting it together.. SAFETY FIRST !!! not trying to BREAK BALLS W/ YOU.

    Everyone should be wearring boots while unloading this stuff. The guy wearring flip flops is making me feel some type of way.
