I really enjoy all your playthroughs.. but this was your masterpiece Welonz! Your attention to detail, your curiosity and the way you immersed into the world of Prey was highly entertaining and fascinating. Congratulations! *EDIT: this comment was supposed to be at the last Video of the Playthrough, but it might as well stay here.
You picking up on them trying to test for some alternate behavior from the mod was surprising and impressive, lots of people comment on the tests being strange, but you're the first I have seen that actually put 2 and 2 together.
Re: 12:30, yes using transglutaminase as "meat glue" is a real thing in modern cooking (or more specifically, what people call molecular gastronomy which is when you try to apply a lot of science to cooking). Its an enzyme that can create new chemical bonds between proteins thus causing them to become physically attached to each other.
Just a fun little fact. The password on Morgan's computer is likely a reference to Fermi's paradox which is the contradictive combination of the probability of intelligent life existing in the universe and the lack of evidence proving it's existence.
I've watched many playthroughs of Prey and this is by far the best! You showed me stuff in the 1st 15 minutes that not only did I miss but also every other player I've watched missed! Escellent and I am excited to watch all the way through
This was so many times point for point my exact reactions, just with less OCD checking every corner of every room, less being smart enough to learn chinese (seriously, respect), and for me there was a lot more screaming "AHHHHHHHHHH ARKANE STUDIOS YOU GLORIOUS GOLDEN GODS WHAT INSANE INTRIGUING NIGHTMARE HAVE YOU THRUST ME INTO?!" I played the opening hour demo and this game immediately enraptured me completely, I love it to death and consider it one of my all time favorite games. I never tire of seeing people's minds explode at the beginning and Can't wait to watch the rest of this LP
I just picked up Prey for the PS4. Your reaction at 46:54 was priceless! I'm subscribing to your channel ASAP! Can't wait to watch the rest of this playthrough!
Just finished ur soma play thru (which was great as usually and made me crie and is my fav playthru of the game with how in depth you went.) so I'm glad and never knew you played this.
I've been really enjoying others playthroughs of this game, wasn't expecting you to play it but glad you are!! I hope it doesn't get too scary for you! I like the unique insight you've brought to your commentary. Plus you get more interested in the story than the people I normally watch, so I really appreciate you reading as much as you do. I like that you went ahead and translated that poem for us and let us in on a little bit of Asian culture with the red notes. Thank you!! -Pistachio
Oh my gosh, you forgot to close the door to your appartment! Hope it won't get robbed. Excited to watch this letsplay. I've never played the game myself, but it looks super fun so far.
Spoiler Fun Fact: The "Grey" second where everything outside the chopper is just grey for a split second is a glitch that made it into the game, they saw the glitch and said "Hey... this kinda works with the theme of the game... and it'll make gamers wonder if we left it in on purpose with our story or if it was just an accident" So it's the looking glass malfunctioning for a second, unintended effect but works with the story.
You Melonz are the only youtuber i'd watch gameplay of Prey. Really surprised you actually decided to pick it up. I shall accompany you on your jurney dear brave one.
Wow, those were some great reflexes at the end! I wanted to see how players I know reacted to the first few hours of the game and most people's first encounter with *one of those* was far less gracious, haha!
Haven't played this game yet, but from what I've seen, Prey seems like the next step you'd take after playing games like Bioshock 1 and Until Dawn if you wanted to gradually start playing "scarier" games. It's like, single player hide and seek. Except the things that are hiding are spider looking things that want to kill you.
Another note: Their Sim Stage B reminders say they need to clear the rooftop of ojects.. but they don't, you can bring the light you get from the "plumber" to the helipad, drop it on there, take your flight and when you arrive on the "other side of the city" the light is still where it was.
21:46 That helicopter seems to be based on an IRL next-gen corporate helicopter - the Airbus H160. Similar silhouette, the same sleek design features, and it too looks like a flying limo. See for yourself - th-cam.com/video/6fEsUsO62_4/w-d-xo.html
All the time you wasted in the beginning just noting how out of place certain things were in the apartment helped me realize that all of those details were subtle, deliberate foreshadowing.
Even though I recommended it too, wasn't too sure you would actually play this one, this is going to be great :D The only advice I'd give is don't necessarily go for the main objective, there are multiple routes and ways to do things.
The "switching rails" questions are part of a classic ethics problem. They are meant to test the way you handle morality: In the first case you didn't even doubted about switching the rails in order to save 5 people (even if that means killing 1 person), that means you have an utilitarian view and you think the better option is the one that saves the most people. The "fat man" is another take on the problem: In this case, killing a man feels more personal and you feel like It's not the right thing to do, even if the outcome is the same as in the first case (saving 5 people at the expenses of killing one 1).
I spent my first few minutes in this game throwing objects around in my appartment xD. Haven't gotten as far as you in my gameplay, but I'm getting there! :D. And hey, how do you make your voice so clear? What microphone are you using? You're very comfertable listening to, good job :D
haha love the comment section now im surprise you're playing this. dont worry, its not suuuuper scary. Just a tad bit (wink) EDIT 10:14 the painting has an ohm and an alpha sign. looks nerdy to me 11:23 that red envelope is where we store the money that we intend to give to someone else. well at least in the chinese-filipino culture haha bad news for you, you can't have the lights permanently on
I get where you come from, I can't play or watch anything horror. That said I wouldn't even classify Prey as horror, sometimes it can make you jump but not really in a horror way IMO
The painting at 8:42 shows the Drake equation. It is for estimating the likelihood of humanity ever finding alien life.
I really enjoy all your playthroughs.. but this was your masterpiece Welonz!

@Dash Keegan scam
Has any player tried breaking the glass? Or placed a cup next to the elevator?
44:21 I love how you smashed the tv to check too

Are you a science professor my nigga? Haha

Wait wait wait a second, at 38:40, you have a working knowledge of Chinese? That's.... Beyond impressive. Also, great video as always.
Yet can't pronounce Conquistadors...
@@Cheepchipsable conquistador is not a Chinese word though…??
“How do I access my inventory normally?"
"Eye. Okay, cool."

This is one of my favorite games! The atmosphere, the gameplay, the enemies, the twists - love it!
Welonz, the message that you are in danger was not from Alex but from January.
oddly enough "what can go wrong" is the name of the song
Actually it's "Everything is going to be okay"
@@RaduTheAlex thank you for the correction
Gosh it's nice to find a playthrough where someone didn't have the opening spoiled. Amazing reaction 🙏
Just finished ur soma play thru (which was great as usually and made me crie and is my fav playthru of the game with how in depth you went.) so I'm glad and never knew you played this.
my very first play through i climbed onto the chopper and died due to the blades.. and you get an achievement for that LOL
Is it weird that I've just started watching this on March 15th 2020?
i started it now, hello from 4 years ago
You are the most engaging person doing playthroughs that I've come across. Thank you so very much!
hi Welonz, glad you're doing a play through of this :)
Nice ! Really wanted to see you play this game. From what i have seen, it's great !

41:14 that freaked me out more then it should have, when she just talked about faking a voice ahahah and then this electrical i don't know lol

Alarm clock: "It's the year 2032." Meanwhile you have a 2033 Edition copy of the Encyclopedia of Food Science and Cooking.
It's pretty normal to have book editions listed as being one year ahead of the current year.
46:25 - The message that you are in danger was also from January, not Alex.
And you missed to check the utility on the last computer.

lol i think it’s hilarious she spent so long talking about whether she likes the apartment 😂😂
This game is fantastic
Phantasmic!

I still have mild anxiety watching this, even though I've played through the whole game XD
DId you notice Now that you are doing dishonored, Antoinette Sokol... Anto Sokolov.... plus there is a line that granny rags says that a typhon says

Hmmm, was thinking this might be too scary for you. But glad to see you playing it. It really is a great game.
Inpressive about translanting Chinese T'ang poem. 王之渙 登鸛雀樓
So glad you're trying this and are coming into it blind! Don't worry, after a while, when you get used to the mimics, it stops being that scary.
Even though I recommended it too, wasn't too sure you would actually play this one, this is going to be great :D
The only advice I'd give is don't necessarily go for the main objective, there are multiple routes and ways to do things.
OH YESSS
This is going to be a fun ride!
yaaàas! i was hoping u would play this soon and here it is >w
The stains on the floor are the same no matter where the lift "goes". ;-)
11:57 Let's face it Chinese or not, once you've tried rice from a proper rice cooker, there's no going back. So convenient too!

Your scream was hilarious.
i kinda wanna hear melonz screaming like a chicken
I see that we are monsters of same tastes onii-san
The chances of melonz responding are about 1 on 99999999999
With the lovely mimics… that probability is high. Very high.
46:56 EPIC

Hehe, didn't notice the stain at the elevator door at my playthrough. Now it's obvious.
