I giant wall of moss and ivy. "I don't have anything to grab onto". Tries wall left and right to it, even opposite to it. "Yeap, nothing". Woo boi, this is gonna be a wild ride~ ^ ^"
When you raise the sword to the light it points to where you have to go, so you gotta move the control stick to find where the light gathers in one place
You have no idea of how happy I'm that you're playing this. This game...is not like my favorite of all time or anything, but it has a special place in my heart cause it was one of the first games I've ever played in my life, back on the Ps2. It's an incredible experience.
Holy crap! I was secretly hoping you'd pick this game up next! And the fact that this is a blind experience for you makes this even better. The PS2 version is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. Also Agro is the best horse. Cherish her Welonz.
HELL FUCKIN YES! This is that kind of famous game that almost everyone in the world played or saw, cant really believe you are doing this blindly, this is like pure gold!
Fortunately there isn't a lot of stuff storywise to spoil. This is a game that tells the story through actions, music, and environments instead of dialogue and it's really something you have to experience for yourself in order to gain the fullest effect.
One of the most beautiful games I ever played on the PS2. I originally played a demo on one of those disc's you used to get in magazines before buying a copy at Blockbuster. That information probably already shows my age so I'll just say it. I'm 28. Point is its a phenomenal experience.
So excited for this playthrough, a couple non-spoiler-y tips if you want. When reflecting light off your sword, remember to aim it up and down as well as left and right until you get the beam, as long as you're in sun you can get the beam by being precise enough. Whenever you can, start a fight by reflecting light onto the colossus' weak points to save time later. There are things to find in the world that will help you in fights, look for anything tasty. The control scheme is pretty complex and includes lots of 'secret' techniques like standing on aggro while shooting the bow, but focus on mastering the climbing controls. They are are easily the most used.
Nice. One of my favorite games ever. There's tips I can give you, but I'll probably hold off on telling you stuff and let you just figure it out yourself since that's part of the fun too. I will mention the light beam sword thing though. The beam points directly to the next "Boss". It's less a GPS waypoint, and more of a compass. The beam gets stronger the closer you are at looking at the correct direction. So the farther away you're looking from the right spot, the light's going to be pointing all over the place. But as you get closer to the spot, you'll notice all the beams of light converging into a single beam the closer you get to looking in the right direction. Looking for weak points on Bosses works the same way. Also, to stab, you press square twice. Once to "Prime" the stab, the second to actually stab. The longer you prime, the more damage you do.
Was looking for a good shadow of the colossus play to watch and found your channel. Hello :) I think I’m gonna continue watching this series of yours and see. I might just sub.
5:06 You're part right. The language spoken in this game is a fictional language called Runik written by Team Ico's main developer Kei Kuwabara and it's a hybridized language of Romaji Japanese, Middle Latin, and small bits of ancient English. 16:13 Trust me. There was once a lot more than that. Be glad it was shortened to 16. 17:17 Not just died. Was sacrificed. Somebody killed her because of that curse. 18:42 To be clear, Agro is female. Just saying. 19:24 The light converges where your objective is. This can help you navigate around the island as well as highlight a Colossus' weak point. 20:26 The camera is actually perhaps one of the more frustrating parts of the game. Don't worry if it takes time to get used to. 22:30 Slowly it does. 25:10 That is your stamina. The longer you hold on and jump, the more it drains. 26:54 Behold: Valus The Minotaurus Colossus. Be awed at the power of a proud Warrior. Also I should mention that the name of the guy is Wander and the woman is named Mono. I don't think they mention it in the game and it doesn't have an impact on the story at all. Just interesting trivia.
I watched your adventures in Uncharted games, it's cool and enjoyable to watch! And I was hoping that you would play this fantastic and classic game and blind as well! I played on PS2 18 years ago, so I know the game and the story! But don't worry, I won't spoil you or anything about it! I'm happy that you are playing it for us viewers and fans, Materwelonz! I will watch your adventures of this game as well and good luck! :D
This is going to be amazing. But I do feel like normal, at least on the PS4, is way too easy. If you think you're up for it I think hard would be more enjoyable. Either way it's going to be awesome.
Yay here it is. There is some stuff for collecting if you like, Skinki Tails and Fruit from Trees. Not that thrilling but if you want. Pls keep the videos 30-40min long, i really struggle to find time for those 1h+ videos, even if they are from you. 😄
ohhh i was hoping you'd play this game. i played the original version too long ago and i was too young to appreciate it (i was too busy at school and playing 'edgy' games to do it). glad to see that the remake is pretty much the same as the original, as far as i remember, so i hope you have a good time with it!
I'm so excited, just started watching this! Question: any chance you will play ICO (also from Team Ico, who also made the last guardian) one day? I stopped counting how often I played it, it is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Well it's going to be fun seeing all the changes to this, if there are any. I still have my PS2 and my original copy and play it occasionally. Welcome to one of the most atmospheric games ever made but be willing to forgive some control issues. It's going to be great watching you discover this for the first time. As an aside, did you play The Last Guardian? It is a pre(se)quel... sort of, to this game and another, ICO (that this game is a direct prequel to). I think ICO got remastered for the PS3 at the same time as Shadow of the Colossus but it seems they skipped remaking it like this. It's worth playing, but maybe hold out a little and see if they announce a remaster. Oh, and finally, if you want a laugh go look up the original NA box art for ICO then look at what the rest of the world got. You might need a long visit to r/eyebleach afterward though. Edit: The Collosi only take a few hits to go down, even late in the game. The difficulty comes from getting to the locations that can be damaged and staying there long enough to actually destroy them.
I played ~the first hour of Last Guardian on an OG PS4. The choppy framerate + camera controls were giving me a really bad headache so I couldn't continue!
Glad to see more people getting into this wonderful journey and epic tale~ hope the experience will remain as spoiler free as possible for you. if I may ask: are you Danish by any chance? you sound exactly like a friend of mine, which is almost creepy :P anyways, consider me a new subscriber~
Started re-playing this game (for the second time) this week, remembered that you had done a playthrough of this that I never fully watched, so here I am. :) The camera controls are definitely the worst part of this game, especially how you don't have full control on where you want it to point. The music that plays whenever a colossi falls always makes me incredibly sad.
Oh. My. God. Watching you bumble about is going to be glorious. Speaking of remakes and what not by the way, did you consider maybe giving Dark Souls a try when the remake happens?
If you find it too easy, when you set the difficulty to hard there are more vital points fortylu to destroy. For example on the first colossus you have to destroy the one on the arm first and then you can kill the one on the head. Makes it more fun imo because you have to find a way to jump to the arm rather than just climb up to the head.
Oh wow, i was watching this game on jacksepticeyes channel, but he is an expert on this game and it was rather boring because he knew everything This is so much more entertaining! Thaaanks
I hope people will refrain from telling her anything about the story until the end. She should experience it herself.
I giant wall of moss and ivy. "I don't have anything to grab onto". Tries wall left and right to it, even opposite to it. "Yeap, nothing". Woo boi, this is gonna be a wild ride~ ^ ^"

YAY! Finally someone playing this game blindly!
Marz, NukeEle, 8 Bite are pretty awesome
And the boys over at IGN UK are doing it as well.
i love how everyone have gosebumps at the Shadows part
I was ACTUALLY thinking "damn, Welonz really should play this"
Enjoy it, you're in for a ride :)
Holy crap! I was secretly hoping you'd pick this game up next! And the fact that this is a blind experience for you makes this even better.
The PS2 version is in my top 5 favorite games of all time.
Also Agro is the best horse. Cherish her Welonz.
A blind playthrough I'm ready.
I see a lot of split opinions of this game among people that haven't played it before. Will look forward to seeing your reaction.
Erik Nilsson well it is a really old game
It's awesome that you are playing this for the first time in its remake form.
Time to play art
There is a reason this game was used as an exhibit for video game art in the Smithsonian Institute!
So beautiful! This is my favorite game of all time!
I am soooo happy she is playing this.
HELL FUCKIN YES! This is that kind of famous game that almost everyone in the world played or saw, cant really believe you are doing this blindly, this is like pure gold!
You have no idea how long i've waited for this! And i'm loving it!

This game has been on my list for awhile too, looking forward to watching you play through it!
You are going to LOVE this game! Thanks for sharing your first time experience with us.
Oh dear God, yes. Just..... Yes.
So happy to see you playing this Welonz! I remember asking you about this in the Q&A a while ago.
Fortunately there isn't a lot of stuff storywise to spoil. This is a game that tells the story through actions, music, and environments instead of dialogue and it's really something you have to experience for yourself in order to gain the fullest effect.
I wasn't expecting you to play this, but I'm glad you are.
OMG! This was one of my favorite PS2 games when i was younger, along with Okami and Persona 4! It makes me so happy to see you playing this :D
Shes gonna flip with the controls
Redx1234 Blivion more like with the camera angles.

I know nothing about this except its a new LP series by Welonz, so I'm gonna sit back and enjoy the ride!
Let's go Welonz!
