I got this ending on my first play through. I think you just have to find the one letter with Calvin’s name. But it doesn’t change the actual ending, because Alex still ends up in the loop.
That was my first playthrough too but it only means that the ghosts regain some kind of identity until they evantually will lose it again though endless loops and seeing Alex fail over and over again as well as Anna. In a dialog they said they watch Anna and Alex fail through all the time lines and even see (the world end?) over and over. Which also means that Alex could end up like the "ghosts" without face or name as well
Katie Tucker It doesn’t really matter which letter you find, as long as there’s a name from one of the “ghosts” in it. And yeah it doesn’t change the actual ending, but it kinda changes the way the ghosts look at you in this ending I guess-
@@LazyTenshi Probably they did, I found a letter with information about the crew and Henry Griffin, so I got to choose the option of saying Henry in this scene. Also it's not really a secret scene, you'll probably get it if you pick up like two random Maggie letters, even if you are lazy.
Yeah, this is literally the ending I got the first time I finished it, except with the name being Francis Salter. One of the crew members of the submarine.
i got this ending on my first playthrough too , i think after you finish the first game you still trapped in the loop :(, i tried to open the radio when on ferry and hear something like message before i arrived at edward's island
First time I got this ending they said "scrap it" a lot earlier than the second time. I really thought that if you do something right, there would be more to this ending, like a real ending, you know? I tried a few times but I got nothing, I searched the internet and found no mentions to this, so I gave up.
I missed one single letter. Idk, but there wasnt anything on adler's state, neither beacon beach. Also, I missed one anomaly. Didn't find anywhere. While exploring I was pondering... there's a door in Milton's outpost, in the upper part of the scenario, that we cannot access. Also there are some radio locked doors that we can only open in the final part of the game, and there's nothing really useful inside there (except the anomaly inside the one on discovery cliffs). I believe they're somehow unlocks a secret ending
@@rafaelvital8281 there was a secret ending about that hidden door. Except everyone was too lazy to do it, but I found a way to get the secret ending for the door. There are many steps.
@@starzzz3774 You should make a video about it! It's an excellent game and not so many information around those secret endings and easter eggs. Some remain a mistery, like this door... damn, it has been so long since I played oxenfree
It doesn't occur unless you find, I believe, the secret letters (or just that one letter with the name of the crew member), which I kinda considered a secret since you do have to go through an extra mile to find these things.
I just finished my first playthrough and got an ending very similar to this as well. I went out of my way to collect all the Adler letters, but I could only choose to say "Calvin". Perhaps that was the very first name I saw from the letters.
This is pretty weird. In here the name of the person is Calvin but I just finished the game for the second time 30 minutes ago and his name was Francis.Am I in a time loop or something?(but fr why is this happening)

Oh I know it makes Alex stuck in the loop (until you send out that distress signal), but atleast I found a way to somewhat appease the ghosts. :D

well calvin was apparently francis in my playthrough
I got this scene, but with someone named Francis
Really? :0 that is interesting. Did you find a letter with that name?

Interesting, maybe I was just too dumb to find this route. :P But good to know! Thanks!
I got that first playthrough, didn’t know it was secret
I'm pretty sure that's a secret. :0 if you don't get that one letter, this never happens, at least from when I did it.
Me too

damnit >_< if the game wasn't that slow, I would be redoing it now.

yea i also got that dialouge on my first playthrough...
dang, I'm just a scrub. XD I planned to play my first playthru blind, then on my second get all the letters (which I found this scene then).
Yeah. Don’t close the rift and you get more

Oooh you prob found another one that is also used in the same effect as this one too. :D
I saw this too. I thought I was the only one.
I got that ending my first play through
Nice! XD I guess I just suck!
I got the same ending but the name was Henry ugh so many ends in this game
I crapped my pants playing this game. Its such a good game.
What happened afterwards?
Normal ending, this was supposed to be a bad ending but screwed up on some things.
i got this ending on first run ._.
yea, apparently I wasn't thorough in my search XD Hence why the title is a NOT so secret
