Quickest JetBoard yet? Electric board with super high thrust water jet and JetSki level acceleration

  • A project I have been designing and improving for the last few months!
    Inspiration for performance requirements was taken from SeaDoo's 2 stroke Jet Ski's. An electrical power of 18000w or 24hp is drawn from the 4kWh/25kg of batteries. An estimated 13000w, or 17.5hp (horsepower) is mechanically delivered to the Water Jet Pump via the brushless electric motor that weighs in at under 5kg.
    The Jet Pump unit in the board is built from a combination of machined and laser cut aluminium. As well as PETG 3d printed components that are sanded smooth for better efficiency. The intake duct for the jet being the largest 3d printed component. All printed components were printed on a Creality CR-10 3d printer.

    Dude that is amazing. The acceleration is nuts and I saw the top speed bump into 70 Kmh that has to be the fastest jetBoard jet.
    Hats off to ya mate. Like everyone else I’d love to know what’s under the hood. But if it’s a new drive system and you want to keep it to yourself I completely understand. And on a long board too wow 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

    • @jakebarnhill6308
      @jakebarnhill6308  3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thanks man 🤙🤙 I won't be releasing what's under the hood for now. When the speedo bumped up to nearly 70 that was just a glitch, the top speed is really 62kph, when the 3kph river current is accounted for.

      Hi Frank. Our 2nd build is done too. We did the maiden some days ago. With 6S and got it up just over 30 km/h. The 12S is ready to go in, but we still need to do some work on the board before using it..... Who knows.. Next week :-) I've posted a short video about the maiden on Mike's (Jet Surfing Nation) forum.

    Incredible off the line Jake! I'm building a skiff with dual jets because I can't find any metal units over 53mm any longer and I don't want to use plastics for durability reasons. I found one guy in Germany that builds plastic dual-impeller pumps and I think that should improve pump priming and off the line hookup, but the TFL model is aluminum so I'm torn. What size impeller(s) are you using? Thanks, Mike

    Very cool. I think it would be neat if it had grips in the front to adjust speed and direction. You could potentially have them side mounted so you'd hold it like hand grips on a bike or stick up from the top more like a video game - maybe make them so they pop out so they can be flat for transport.
