RADINN
Radinn is a Swedish company that released new Carver and Freeride models which should be a vast improvement over an old Radinn wakejet model.
The company is very active on social media and targeting luxury water toys and yacht owners.
The new XL Power Pack gives up to 45 min run time according to developers with up to 52 km/hour top speed and weights about 42kg.
A few months ago we had a great chance to meet the Radinn team and test out some of their amazing new boards.
Onean Carver
The Onean Carver Twin and Carver X were both created by a talented Spanish team of engineers with the goal of ending the need for waves to surf. The Carver X lives up to its name with dual jets and dual batteries; it was designed to carve up water and was intended for more experienced heavy surfers. The new model Carver Twin with its dual jet and a single battery is designed for casual surfers and lightweight riders. These models both have foot straps, a wireless remote, a battery, and a leash. Great design and affordable price when compared to other models.
Ewave
Ewave electric jet board has a 6000 RPM engine promising the top speed of up to 56 km/hour and a battery life of up to 35 minutes. The best part about this board is its new dual system which lets you switch between a jetboard and hydrofoil attachment, making it the first "two in one" solution on the market combining jetboard and efoil together as an interchangeable system. The riding time in efoil mode is significantly longer and provides you with more than an hour of cruising above the water surface.

This is an exciting time for such items, however being so newly offered in the industry, the prices...well many people wont even try due to the cost. May be in a few years when prices are more reasonable. That Radinn is freaking $12,000+ - just buy a boat and surf behind it, more applications with a boat.

I can’t disagree with a 10k+ price tag. They are putting them in practically the same price point at full size jet skis. They should be sub 10k. Like 10k should get you one of the best and fastest models. Along side of electric bikes.
@@gtm624 top of the line non motorized bicycles are going for $10k+, more expensive than some 600cc sport motorcycles.
I doubt that the companies making these jetboard toys are making a killing selling these on this price point. These are too niche for mass production and thus can't take advantage of economies of scale.

How about an electric hydrofoil kayak?? I have plenty of money, but bad knees…I need something I can partially sit on and maybe stand for a short while for predictable waves/maneuvers. Any thoughts? Perhaps a foil I could attach to the bottom of an inflatable kayak??

Pretty cool to have electric body boards only downside is half an hour to 45 minutes if that's the case it's just a waste of time and a waste of money prefer to buy a board that would last at least over an hour to even 3 hours depending on the capacity of the battery and room space to be able to Wedge two batteries together + also the speed the more faster the more fun

My cousins had a motorized surfboard in the 80s. They were gas powered back then. And had a rope to hold on to.

Petrol board for sure. Electric boards are too weak for such sporty weight. Jetsurf can handle your weight pretty well but it will not be easy to get started, probably a jetsurf tube can help.
The best advice is to find local dealer and try to rent to see if it works well for you.
A big size efoil might work as well, such as Fliteboard standard with a big volume.
Normally all boards are rated up to 100kg but I was riding with my daughter 90kg + 25kg so that is same as you and it worked fine!

The prices are in 8-15k range. You can check with your local dealer. In such expensive things the price depends on your country and your dealer offer, VAT , shipping fee etc.

@@JetSurfingNation could buy the 2021 Yamaha 4 stroke superjet, or the new kawasaki 1500, they are both beasts and cheaper than these rip offs.
Jetskis has been around for decades, it's a completely different and pretty simple and straightforward machine compared to high tech needed to develop a lightweight and powerful (at the same time safe to use in water) electric surfboard, that's why they are very expensive.
@@JetSurfingNation the first motorized surf board was in 1935. I have a surf jet from the 80s. Not much has changed, that you wouldn't expect to change. The prices are awful.
Actually A LOT has changed in the last 3 years.. You probably remember the old surf jet was just a petrol board, more like a modified looking jetski again. The new battery tech (thx to Tesla) opened completely new horizons in electric jetboards and efoils. Let not the prices blind you, check the recent models, they are extremely powerful and fun. The sport of efoil is a completely new sport altogether
None of these where designed or are able to be used in ocean waves. The best ones can barely take a light chop. You will also need to weigh less than 150 preferably around 120lbs to use them at all.

Like electric cars they were for a while but more like a DiY not a real industry. Now with the strong advances in battery tech thx to Elon musk and tesla, it’s really growing fast!

Surfing is a pure, Raw and unfiltered sport. No offense against jet boards and e-foils but the clientele that would use electric surfboards and e-foils are lazy and don't care about anybody but themselves.
I respectfully disagree. To each its own. There are many sports in the world, and at some point Snowboarders were not "pure" enough for ski fans.. It's always the same. Just respect others in the water and you'll be fine!
The same can be said about most surfers. I bet if these boards were $100 nearly every surfer would own one. It is all about having fun sour puss.
These e boards could encourage more people to try surfing, if people need encouragement to get in the water, but are intimated by waves and bad balance. I think it's easier to fall off a surf board, but e boards could be like training wheels to surfing. E boards are definitely lazy vs surfing, but you'd build muscles for balance and trim up in some places. Some places may not have good waves. Surf boards are less expensive too, which makes me want a surf board instead.
