Always thought you were just paying for the name but I swapped my ebay shifter stop out with Perrin about a year ago after driving my friends with the Perrin. Felt so much better!
I didnt have an issue with the ebay shifter stop on a 2019 wrx until I put on the boomba shifter plate. After that it would jump 1st to 2nd. I readjusted it and the ebay one hasn't given me any issues.
It could be that machined beveled area on the eBay one the the reverse lockout is riding on. Either way great video and I didn’t know what those washers were there for either but that makes sense!
Great video and comparison between the ebay vs perrin shift stop. Good to know about the washers... I bought the ebay one and was just wondering the same thing. *edit*- for future people's reference, the ebay one I bought works fine in my 2021 WRX. No issues with the reverse lockout jumping.
I Re-Installed it with the spacers removed from the underside and it still pushed the reverse lockout up. So something with it is off. Install Perrin, fine, re install ebay stop, lockout pops up again. I admitted in the video I thought I ordered the wrong one.
Apologies if you've addressed this in another vid, but your mod list doesn't show a catback. Are you running the stock catback exhaust with the 1320 j-pipe? Was thinking of doing the same thing with a different brand j-pipe and leaving the stock catback to save on cost, but wasn't sure how/if performance would be affected. Do you feel like the stock exhaust is up to the task? I don't really want to make the car super loud, so if the power is there with the stock exhaust, I'd rather save the cash to spend somewhere else...
No worries! And yeah It's the stock catback. If I'm being honest when I put muffler deletes on the car It felt like it lost power. Maybe it's in my head but I was tuned on the stock catback and it feels faster on the stock catback.
@@StreetInspired1 sounds like it, even after I readjusted multiple times I didn’t have that issue. I got lucky lol, but I don’t think I could live without one on this transmission
Do You have the regular shifter or the “sti short shifter package “ from factory. Cause I wanted to buy one but wasn’t sure if it would do anything or even fit.

I did the samething. With the washers. Ha haha. Damn, changing mine now.
It’s not the brand it’s how you install it

I would have to try out a Perrin for myself but right now I have an Amazon one and so far it hasn’t given me any issues
It wouldn’t lol
If it isn't giving you issues I wouldn't worry about it. I only replaced this one because I was having issues with mine.
The bolts on mine were too long
Yeah the 2018-2021 get different part. It's funny how Subaru changed the design without making it known. Maybe it was just durability changes.
What changed for these years?

@@StreetInspired1 Awesome. Thanks for the info! Glad to hear that the stock exhaust can handle the power just fine.
i have had that same red one for a year and it hasnt given me issues, i only readjusted it the first week i got it
I may have just got a faulty one. I tried reinstalling and adjusting and reverse lockout was still popping up.

This is just the standard shifter.
