Very clean build! Wanted to ask you about the wheel spacers and if you have any issues with it. Thinking about purchasing a quality set because I do like the stock wheels from my performance pack 2020.
Lookin nice! Just picked up a 2021 Saturday and have already picked up a few parts(Radium cans, Cobb AP, Cobb Flex kit, and Axle back). Few more things to acquire then Ill be ready to slap it all together and tune. Probably wont even hit 5k miles before hand 🤣
I spent about $650 doing the full factory kicker upgrade, well worth it. Had the same problem other the widows down couldn’t hear it. Get some dyno mate if you go that route will help a lot with the rattle
I really like what you’ve done with your WRX. Makes me want to do more to my WRX but I think it’s good where it’s at. I just have an ets intake and Catted j-pipe along with Invidia catback and tuned on e30 by Mtuned. I also have my 5.0 Mustang and it’s a blast to drive. Still love to take out my WRX here and there though. Nice video.

You really have a done a lot of quality work. This is a road map for me (19 WRX Prem). The end result on the duckbill and paint is amazing. Assuming you did an e-tune w/ Ron.
I love the idea of keeping the stock catback and making 400whp, sounds way more refined but still tough and let’s face it the FA sounds like a 96 soho Civic with a catback.
Mine goes In for flex fuel protune and a bunch of other stuff, should make around the same power! Have you ever had any issues with the stock clutch handling that much power? That is my only concern
It really seems to depend on how you drive you car and how old the clutch is. My last wrx had 65k on the clutch before ei went flex fuel. I did flex and tune and took the car to the drag strip and ran it 3 times and needed a new clutch afterwards. My current wrx was on flex tune since 1,000 miles. I blew the transmission at 17k miles and the stock clutch still looked brand new when I pulled it out.
Great work! Been watching you for a while, but finally subbed. I think I saw PA plates? Depending on how far you are from Philly, I’ll have to check this car out in person sometime
One of the cleanest engine bays I’ve seen 👌 and love your molded duckbill trunk. I have the battle aero duckbill paint matched but have always preferred the molded look. Question: why stock exhaust vs aftermarket cat back?
Thank you!! And just a preference. I had a full exhaust at one point and it was too loud. Swapped the non resonated midpipe with a resonated one and it was still a little loud and I lost all the turbo spool sounds. With the stock catback it had a really nice turbo spool but no drone or obnoxious noises. I actually have a few sound videos of each setup on my channel if you're curious to hear it outside of the car.
How long have you had the dialed mount for the AP? Worth it? Any weird side effects or installation nit picks? Quality? Does the AP bump into the windshield when you unplug it?
About 3 months. I really like it. No issues and worth every penny. The AP does hit the window id you aren't careful but I just slowly rock it side to side and it slides out pretty slow and doesn't hit the window
Honestly its about the same. When im driving spirited I average about 22. Driving conservative i get about 25. But I've noticed when I run lower ethanol content (say 30%) my mpgs will be much higher. Like 30-34.
since mine is also flex tuned I can tell you fuel consumption is terrible with E60. example with 91 octane i can go 100 miles and only used 1/4 tank with E60 100 miles takes 1/2 a tank average speed 70-80 mph highway cruising
@@StreetInspired1 also for the audio I put pioneer speakers all around along with some tweeters a literal $60 Walmart amp and a Rockville 10” sub and it sounds pretty good with the stock head unit
5:55 front pipe from left manifolds, going to up-pipe, right? I'm btw looking for a STi/S-turbo/GT up-pipe for my 01 wrx. Completely stock. My up-pipe is leaking and therefore not giving all power to the turbo, and not to mention the exhaust in the coupe. The wrx has a catted up-pipe and the models mentioned above is decat
The new FA20 engine no longer has an up pipe, the turbo is located underneath the front instead of on top of the back. It bolts directly to the headers (the stock headers have mini cats in them) and then goes out the downpipe.
I have 17 inch wheels on my 20 WRX base model, I’m looking at upgrading my brakes to brembo or STI brake calipers; DO I NEED TO UPGRADE MY WHEELS TO 18 inch? Or there’s no need to upgrade.. Thanks.
I believe the spokes on the 17s will collide with the caliper but if you run spacers that should fit it and make the wheels sit more flush anyways. 20mm will put the stock wheel flush with the body
Hoenstly it just recently became available too.About 2 years ago I would have to drive atleast an hour to get E85. Now there is about 6 E85 Pumps within a 20 mile radius from me!
It wasn't the shift there were bumps in the road. Not the best place I could've sent it lol. Now the car has a full sti drivetrain, upgraded trans, diff, and Pitch Stop mounts and an ACT Extreme clutch.
Perfectly fine! I had one on my last wrx. It looks great as long as their isn't a STI badge on a wrx I think its good! I prefer the STI wing over all these huge spoilers people put on these cars.
save up for a clutch, drive train, and engine build. these cars with the fa20dit are much much better than the wrx's with the ej, but this car will not handle this kind of power for long. if this is your daily driver good luck to you.
Honestly it depends. I know someone who was tuned with more power than mine and he's over 100k on the stock engine and trans. The clutch will likely be the first to go, then the transmission, then the engine. But either way if something explodes ill be ready.
If you are buying new I would wait until the 22 STI comes out with the FA24. The internals in that thing are much beefier than the FA20 In the current wrx and the fuel delivery and valve springs etc are all upgraded heavily from the FA20. The EJ25 thats in the sti now works great but gets terrible fuel economy and seems to take more money to make the same power as the wrx. My wrx goes door to door with my friends 18 STI. I'm on E60. He's full E85. I'm stock turbo, he's on FP Blue. I'm on top mount. He's on front mount, etc. But the STI transmission and driveline is really what you're paying for in my opinion!

I know they're restrictive and most tuners recommend deleting them. But with all the crap going on you could always just unplug them before getting tuned.
My tuner original told me 55-60 percent but now he has me on 65 and says no more than 70. So maybe he had no failures at the lower ethanol content and raised his limit. I've put 6k miles on it running 60-70% and haven't cycled a single tank of 93 and so far so good.
@@StreetInspired1 ok. this is good to know that i too can run between 60-70 percent. also i heard you mention in the video about norstum hpfp and you can run straight e85 with it. i was advised that that pump gives you an addition 40 percent more fuel. so with this additional fuel you probably need another tune to be safe. i have taken a stock supra with about the same power level you are at. 365/320 .have fun and stay safe brother

Sus or not, it does. Stock turbo can handle between 375-400whp. After 400 it pretty much just blows hot air. I only make 403whp on the "Send it map" which is super aggressive. My regular map is only 372 But there's other stock turbo cars making 415-430 it can be done with aggressive tuning and the right supporting mods. @@StreetInspired1 hey I'm liking the sleeper set up, I'm planning to run E85 also on a completely stock car, do I need to upgrade injectors and a fuel pump? I know I will need cobb AP and cobb flex fuel kit, are you still on stock injectors and fuel pump? Is that possible?
You spent a lot of money on engine performance, but using garbage oil filter. Subaru oil is not synthetic, cannot tolerate heat performance engine generating and cannot provide proper filtration due to 30ppm. It's time upgrade your filter and oil.
Actually, I'm not sure what research you have done on this car but the factory oil filter is a wix filter which is the only filter recommended for this car by subaru and tuners and these cars require full synthetic oil right out the gate. And I'm not using subaru branded oil. I'm using full synthetic rotella t6 5w-40 which is a high zinc oil and handles heat very well and the slight bump in weight over the factory 5w-30 means that while the factory oil would be out of spec within 2,000 miles, it stays within spec for almost 5,000-6,000 miles. These engines are much different from the older subaru engines.
@@StreetInspired1, wix filter none synthetic media. Full synthetic oil, is not synthetic at all. It's made from none synthetic base stock and that's why it's Full synthetic oil. Where does it say it's high zinc oil?
@@repairvehicle @repairvehicle the factory wic filter has the highest filter surface area put of all of the oil filters for this car (91.5 sq inches) whilst say the bosh filter only has 83.13 sq inches. And the car comes bran new from the factory with full synthetic oil so im sure the filter works with full synthetic just fine. As for using diesel oil in a subaru, well people have been running it for years and I personally know people who have 800-1,200 hp subaru track cars that only run to for years with no issues. My tuner also recommended it and had oil analysis done on his personal car running rotella t6 and the numbers came back perfect everytime. I'm no oil expert but half these people fill their subarus up with Walmart supertech oil. If my car blows up its not because of rotella t6 or the factory wix filter...

@@StreetInspired1, wix filter none synthetic media. Full synthetic oil, is not synthetic at all. It's made from none synthetic base stock and that's why it's Full synthetic oil. Where does it say it's high zinc oil?
@@StreetInspired1 , using diesel oil in gas engine, bad Idea. It's a recipe for disaster. Within specs based on what?
@@StreetInspired1 , you can afford high performance mods but can't afford high quality true synthetic oil and filter?
If my car blows up its not because of rotella t6 or the factory wix filter...
pretty dope bulid dude, that thing looks fun as hell to drive :)
