We DRAMATICALLY downsized in 2018 from a huge custom built home to a house half that size built in 1988. 😳 I felt like our big house was owning me, instead of me owning it. I can honestly say it was one of the most freeing decisions I have ever made. We now have plenty of cushion income for travel, organic groceries, Christmas gifts for the kids, and I was able to cut back to 3 days a week at work and we still save money. I love being able to have my entire house cleaned in a matter of hours. Sometimes I do get a little twinge of envy when I drive past massive homes in my neighborhood, or see the big new sparkly kitchens on Instagram. But I would not trade my little cozy home for the world. We are also renovating it and I have kept with the cozy feel for my decor. My husband minored in Literature in college so we have lots and lots of books, I love to have blankets handy, plenty of house plants, always burning candles. All the comfy vibes. 😊 I look forward to seeing your adventures in your new home. Prayers that your thyroid appointment goes well! 🙏 Happy 2023.

Your home looks so nice and being a tad bit smaller makes it easier to take care of. I'm in my 70's now and I am all about easier and convenient. We're still a bit under the weather, but soon I hope to start prepping and getting things ready. My husband "might" be trying more things. I really hope he will. Your recipes and prep/batch cooking have always been so helpful. Your cheese sauce is the best. One thing I have been doing to make the cheese sauce even easier is to use one of the yellow steamed potatoes and I steam carrots in the instant pot at the same time, so I don’t have to chop or boil them. Just pop them in the blender.
