I really like Fujimoto's usage of color. He uses bright and distracting colors but at the same time switches to calm and dull colors when he needs to. I also like how no one really has unnatural hair colors. It creates an atmosphere that couldn't be achieved if the characters had outlandishly colorful hair. Imagine if Power had neon pink , or Himeno had green hair. (More of an aesthetic choise and a small detail, but makes the world seem real.)
Fujimoto's paneling is by far his most impressive ability in my opinion. Somehow he created a style that is cinematic but only works in manga format. His "character animation" or whatever you call it is also really good. The way the facial expressions and movements progress and show emotion is so impactful. I just love it.
there's something in the way he repeats panels, especially in groups of three, often with little or no variation between the panels, that is just so striking and i catch myself just thinking "man he's cooking right now" every time i see it. it really just feels like he's letting the world breath in those moments

You mentioned how all the characters wear the same uniform and how it leaves visual distinction to the shoulders and above, forgetting to mention how each character wears their uniform differently. Just looking at the main four's uniforms we can can tell so much about their characters: Denji rolls his sleeves up and wears active shoes, which shoes his youth. Aki keeps his suit jacket and weapon on him which shows how he's not as open as the others. I could keep listing more characters or go into more depth but I think I've got what I wanted to say across.
It’s easier to tell in his covers but his style is very painterly. The lines do as much to convey emotion as expression and dialogue. Using soft loose strokes and bold messy ones when necessary.

But still, they are adaptations of character designs for animation and have a wholly different person making creative decisions for how they should appear in a new medium. The CSM anime designs specifically are high line count while being very clean, contrasting the roughness you praised Fujimoto's manga designs for. I gen love this manga so much cause i relate to most of the characters. When i first read it, i was just flabbergasted by the stylization and just everything. Really love it with all my heart fr
This is why I did an art study on his style a while back when i was first introduced to the manga- The way he can convey so much in such a halfhazard style is really inspiring and i love it a lot as an artist who doesn't have the patience to be neat lol. When I first read fire punch, there was a panel that specifically bothered me, of a child character saying something with wonder. One half of his face was bright with sparkles in his eye, while the other half was overcast and not sparkly, giving a disturbing feel. I looked back after i finished the manga and realized how much that one panel foreshadowed the plot and ig that just goes to show how great his style is lol
I really love these type of arts, messy and sketchy yet perfect, and that's why I am not a fan of a webtoon especially this genre, they are all the same! I mean literally the same design of the male lead, black hair, cool, mysterious and rude type! Also I like the way you described the characters of CSM! While I was reading the Manga I was wondering why I am so invested in it, even though it wasn't really my type of story because I always thought it's a typical shonen story.
"he's a deep character disguised as a shallow one" summarizes denji so well to the point where anyone who only watched the anime still thinks denji is boring
god I literally watched five episodes of my hero and had to stop because like... five episodes in and it's like the guy still hasn't become strong. this was four years ago.

You’re on the money when pointing out unique character designs. One thing I like about Aki’s design is that he wears a suit to look professional while also wearing Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers to signify his youth since he’s a young adult. I think that’s one thing you forgot to mention.
One of my favourite things with fujimoto comes from goodbye eri, it’s filled with panels that just show slight changes to a character’s expression, eyes looking down and lips about to to move to say something before stopping itself Honestly goodbye eri is just the most beautiful thing in terms of art, it feels perfect

Really good video. I like your editing style. Keep up the good work man.
Bro, I'm not even going to comment on the content of this video...just wanted to say that the video is well done, you deserve waaaay more subs...the video is well-edited, funny, concise and to the point.
realism goes with the worm devil having the biggest melons
Letsgooo!! Worm Devil finally getting the love it deserves
his lines and doodling to convey movement reminds me of a young and inspired Tite Kubo. I've read CSM Pt. I so many times and (even with its flaws) it's always such a fun read
I just gotta say that I love how the way you depict the line between cartoonish and realistic be the Heisenberg drawing and the real Heisenberg
These videos are great. Keep up the good work dawg.
i've just recently found your channel, but love all the content! super great stuff man, keep it up!
Bro is so entertaining I actually smiled.
Fucking love concise scripts
Not to be a hater but there are TONS of Video Essayists that would sit here for like an hour and say the same thing 20 times to reiterate a point we could get in 5 minutes
I didn't even think too much about why Fujimoto's work is so "Grungy" to me but you got it perfectly down
Great video
2:48 THAANK YOUUUU!! Theres absolutely no artistry involved in manhwa anymore. Looks like its all done by one team. Not only is the story massproduced... but the art too
That’s what I’m saying
Thank you for making this video, going to rewatch this if I ever can’t explain why I like chainsaw man so much
Funny, brings up great points, and best of all, concise. Ironically, I would watch long form videos coming from you if they are of this quality. Keep it up my dude
Speaking of distinction, I remembered this video after seeing it in my recommended feed from a few months ago by the great title. Good video too
i usually ignore the current anime everyone is talking about as if is the best thing ever and as if they're the real fans who follow it since the 5th birthday of the mangaka great grandfather (currently is jujutsu kaisen), but damn, you somehow made me get interested in reading one of those :p
and make more videos please, you have great takes!
Damnnnn you really ate that up :o I'm whole ass caught up to the series. and you illustrated in words as brilliantly as fujimoto draws on paper
First time I stumble upon your channel and I thought this was a really good video, can't wait to see your other stuff :)
glad you liked it, thanks! :)
Wake up babe, new coggsie video.
Funimoto's worldbuilsing wasn't just in his story and caharcters, but also in his art. Lot of people bave called me for liking his art, but these people only want generic isekai power fantasies
I gen love this manga so much cause i relate to most of the characters. When i first read it, i was just flabbergasted by the stylization and just everything. Really love it with all my heart fr
i have never edged so hard until i met this video good stuff
bro... I just... loved this video bro... Thank you for doing this (you even brought sinix to the stage, AMAZING) a hug from brazil
❤️
0:06 what the hell is wrong with the internet
bleach my eyes
just found out about your channel and i love it, keep up the good work.
great video!! i love fugimotos artstyle because its so unique and just really "stand out", i guess.
Never read or watched Chainsaw Man, but I respect this dude's creativity with it
I love your videos so much man,
Also himeno best waifu fr
👍👍👍
Yk that feeling when u stumble upon a new gem of a TH-camr? Gotten rn
0:55 i'd also like to add Kobeni has that side hair sticking out from one side, which is very nice
"he's a deep character disguised as a shallow one" summarizes denji so well to the point where anyone who only watched the anime still thinks denji is boring
coggsie you're going to pop off, mark my words.
god I literally watched five episodes of my hero and had to stop because like... five episodes in and it's like the guy still hasn't become strong. this was four years ago.
Bro we gotta EXILE whoever made that Makima art piece from the beginning
Chainsawman will be a cult classic in the future.
I really love this cinematic paneling of Fujimoto, especially in many of his oneshot works. And I'm so hype that they're adapting Reze arc into a movie! I hope they deliver.
Btw, I hope you'll talk abt opm art too, like when we talking abt manga art, we cant not mention opm yk..
I don’t think non-artists fully grasp how absolutely impressive that five point perspective is… thes insane I could never
this video was thoroughly enjoyable, God bless you bro 🙏
this video having a random straight minute of really compelling thoughts on CSM surrounded by random sex jokes is the most CSM thing possible
this feels like a dunkey video
it does, especially the ending
This is the best video I've seen on CSM. Much like for part two, I wish you luck living up to my expectations now.
You’re on the money when pointing out unique character designs.
One thing I like about Aki’s design is that he wears a suit to look professional while also wearing Chuck Taylor Converse sneakers to signify his youth since he’s a young adult.
I think that’s one thing you forgot to mention.
It’s the the way he draws facial expression
I love u, u made my day happy with this video
Great video! Really like your style! Looking forward to more in the future.
"Hes a deep character disguised as a shallow one" is the best way I have heard someone describe denji
One of my favourite things with fujimoto comes from goodbye eri, it’s filled with panels that just show slight changes to a character’s expression, eyes looking down and lips about to to move to say something before stopping itself
Honestly goodbye eri is just the most beautiful thing in terms of art, it feels perfect
plssss keep making videos ur content is so entertaining lmao
loved your video man, amazing.
subbed, great video man
no wayyy wtf you are the only person i found on yt , after such a long time who can finally understand this manga zammn i always wanted people to know that this story is not carried by csm fanarts but the plot and story itself.
How does your channel only have 7k subscribers? You definitely deserve more! These videos are great and hilarious. Keep it up!
fujimoto style is a choiche
is sketchy not becouse he is not good at drawing, but becouse is a storytelling way to underline important scenes
I love his art style so much
I appreciate clean looking manga like one punch man but sou can really just tell when something is from fujimoto when you see it
Hope i can draw like that one day
You gonna get popular bro I can tell
I was waiting for the last part and that was exactly spot on my expectation damn it 🤣
I never really watch small youtubers, it dosn't really seem like a thing, that I would like to do. But god damn, if I was wrong, this video is fu**ing good, all of them are. So yea, just wanted to tell ya, that u got some nice creations. Keep it up.
