Rizzo hadn't really been used for awhile even before Steve was fired. The material that the Muppet rats are made out of is no longer made and they haven't found a suitable replacement for it yet. So they use the rats sparingly.
I have some hope that this will be good. I just really hope, that if nothing else, this will encourage Disney to do more stuff with the Muppets. There so much stuff that can be done with them, places that they could go, genre that haven't been explored and behind the scenes problems that need to be fixed. Good video.
100% agree. The muppets have always been an incredibly underused property within the Disney company. Projects are constantly underfunded and under advertised
I love how they stuck a beard on Beauregard for the narrator. The biggest shock was the return of Johnny Fiama, Sal, and Phil Van Neuter! Brian Henson is back with the Muppets!!!!!
YES! I wasn't sure from just the trailer if Brian was back, so I didn't want to say anything, but I'm SO EXCITED for him to be working with the muppets again!
I’m loving how they’re using more of the elements they leaned toward in the 90’s era, as you pointed out, but sort of still only cautiously optimistic after the recent weirdness in how the property has been handled for the past ten years. I hope this is maybe not so much a return to form, but a return to essence. Here’s hoping!
@@tysargent9647 Well, to be perfectly frank, as much as I love the muppets (and oh, I do so love them), they’ve always had problems with wildly varying quality. Their crowning jewel, to me, was always their adaptation of A Christmas Carol. It was so consistently good the whole way through, honestly a masterpiece. But every other Muppet movie or show I’ve seen has been plagued by hitting very high then immediately plunging into borderline unwatchable, only to repeat the cycle for the entirety of the movie/episode. A return to form, then, in my mind would be more of the same flip-flopping, whereas a return to essence would be to embrace the strengths of the property and to rely much less on things (certain tropes, certain jokes, etc.) that highlight-or seem to create!-weaknesses.
I didn't know they did a Muppets Haunted Mansion, I shall watch it for Halloween, I met Steve Baron(Ninja Turtles 1990) who was the last movie Director to work with Jim Henson.
