I’ve just come back to this video years later after watching Muppets From Space for the first time and honestly even Gonzo meeting his alien family seems SUPER queer coded to me. Like they came out of the ship looking like the campiest aliens I’ve ever seen (and I grew up on RTDs era of Dr Who) serving drag realness while performing Celebration by Kool and the Gang. Honestly the whole film seemed like a very on the nose metaphor for queerness. I think it might be my new favourite 😅

ngl, dipper reminds me of being 12 in all honesty, I struggled with "what it meant to be a man" at that age, I had a high pitched voice and shit, was neurotic just like him and everything. I wouldn't necessarily say Dipper is trans, I think lots of his "not manly" attributes can be solved by the fact that HE IS LITERALLY 12. He is in a confused state as puberty is taking over everything in his life at that point

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Cinderella has always been my favorite Disney Princess and I'm so happy that you stood up for her. I also feel enlightened by some of the things you shared. I've always felt upset about the scene of the dress being ripped, but I never associated it with physical abuse. I'm glad that you explained how Cinderella actually COULDN'T solve her abusive problems and just leave. There have been times that I have felt like Cinderella, financially stuck and dependent on my family. Thankfully for me, I have a loving family, but modern day society expecting all women to be independent irritates me! Not every person on Earth is going to have the perfect situation to be independent, and I wish the media would realizes this. It's like you said, it's not a bad thing to ask others for help!

after rewatching this movie as an adult, it's easy to tell the ' having the courage to escape your abuse' messge was very intentional. They bruno the dog to extrenalize her inner thoughts, she's always telling him that he has to behave even if lucifers treatment of him is unfair so he won't loose his house and food! But in the end of the movie she's full on calling him and telling him to finally FIGHT BACK, because that's what she's finally having the chance to do! Another message is about being kind to those who need it even if you don't receive kindness yourself , but you still can and should fight back if you get the chance( cinderella being kind and feeding and clothing the mice, the 'lowest' posssible creatures that most people would demonize, directly results in her happy ending)

Gonzo is still my favorite character, because he’s funny, goofy, determined, and passionate over his MANY quirks! His obsession with Miss Piggy and his eventual love for Camilla the chicken knows no bounds. And his great feats of strength and absurdity shows he’s proving to everyone how wonderfully talented he actually is. And I LOVE it!!! However, it does NOT prove how he’s trying to “be who he truly is” on the inside with a leftist ideology. He’s been called a “whatever” because no one can determine what kind of SPECIES he is, not figuring out what his SEXUALITY type is. Muppet Babies (circa 1980s) used to be a great classic, but they turned it into a modern twist of propaganda to one of my favorite Muppet characters. What does Dave Goelz remark about this? He’s the awesome OG to the character! It’s just like Frank Oz PROVING that Bert and Ernie are best friends and NOT a couple, because of how he and Jim Henson collaborated together on the characters, as best friends themselves. The world is trying to dissect innocence and fun for classic, family-friendly content into a depravity just for wokeness’ sake. It’s disappointing and terribly sad…

I feel so lucky that I got to enjoy this show growing up. It gave me some of the most wholesome memories of my childhood. I remember vividly that Bear in the big blue house was showcased at 7 am on Saturdays on channel 13 in the Dominican Republic. I was around 6 years old when it took place back in 2001. I watched it today on Disney+ and I teared up from the nostalgia it gives me ❤

9:18 well to be honest that was done because the 3 recurring puppets with 2 performer's were voiced by celebrities. And sadly celebrities don't do puppetry. Infact it's currently a thing for the fraggle rock reboot (one of the reasons besides the celebrity thing is because since dave golez is needed in America for gonzo he can't go to Canada) and was a thing for the book of pooh because for some reason voice actors also don't do puppetry. But to be fair the voice actors in book of pooh had other roles too so they wouldn't have time for the puppet part of doing the show.

I watched Cinderella with my 2 year old, and when Cinderella's dress gets rippped apart I let out an audible gasp and touched my hand to my mouth. I am a grown ass man and my daughter had no reaction lol

This is all very well said and I agree with a lot of these points, as someone that loves the OG Cinderella movie. They establish in the opening minutes of the film that Tremaine abused her and then made her a servant in her own home. For Cinderella, this is normal, and that's insanely important to remember. She grew up in that environment, so being abused as she is became her reality. For people who've been abused for so long, that normal is what can keep them in that cycle of abuse. They don't have anywhere to go, or people besides their abuser who they can turn to. Yeah, Tremaine and her stepsisters give her a hard time and work her ragged, but that's the hell she knows. She knows she can handle endless chores and their petty insults, and manages to find small bits of joy in things they can't control, like her dreams at night, her small animal companions, and even singing while she works. If she left, those are new challenges that she doesn't know if she's ready for. I'm also of the mind that Tremaine offering to let her go to the ball IF she finished all her chores and found something suitable to wear wasn't a singular instance of her being "nice" to Cinderella. Lady Tremaine's horrible, but she definitely seems like she tries to sound like a fair matron to disguise her awful pettiness. She probably leverages rewards if Cinderella is on her best behavior, we just didn't necessarily see it in the movie because she is introduced by laying on more chores as punishment for "putting a mouse under Anastasia's teacup." She never was going to let Cinderella go, obviously, but Cinderella sounded too hopeful and grateful when the offer was extended for her to have never offered the carrot instead of the stick before. Tremaine plays in head games and intimidation.

I’m so happy that it’s now on Disney Plus because I enjoyed watching it with my daughter and now I get to watch it with my granddaughter too. She asks for Bear every morning when she wakes up.

It’s funny how most of the queer fandom sees Dipper as transmasc, when I see my own experiences as a transfem person. When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait to grow facial hair or for my voice to drop so that I wouldn’t feel like a failure as a boy anymore…. that if one thing or another happened, I would finally “feel” like enough of a man. Dipper’s insecurities really mirror my own as a trans girl that took 23 years to realise.
