I have just found your tutorials and would like to say that you are the only person that goes into so much depth with colour etc. I love your natural colour. Your paintings look so great . Thank you for letting us copy your painting and paint along with you. It is so hard to paint from nature with your own photo when your not experienced. I am 76 years old, have been painting for many years, and I know I can spiff up my paintings with the help of your tutorials. I am going to join your patreon subscription which will help you a little. I have always struggled with green colours. Thank youi so much. Glenis.
Hey Glenis, thank you for your kind words and for subscribing to my Patreon channel, I hope you enjoy the videos and that they help you on your painting journey. Thanks again 😀
wow I didnt realize one tree could be so interesting and beautiful, I like how you let it dry as you patiently think about how to improve it, and I think your adjustments made it turn out wonderfully, thank you for making this helpful video!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I especially like that you express what you are thinking about the process and why and how you change it - and what colours you mix.
Thank you so much for this! I've been painting for thirty years, and I've always had trouble with trees. Your generous sharing of details in how you create your trees is invaluable. Such a beautiful painting! I will be watching this one again, probably with brush in hand, and I intend to check out your other videos. Just subscribed. Thank you, Sam!
Thank you for being so specific regarding the colors you are using! I specifically appreciated the camera view of the pallet and color mixing. When you say a bit you apparently really mean just a bit. Well done.
Love your painting video's, i am so excited just watching one of your videos I've learned a lot and I'm so excited because I know there's so much more Im going to learn as view them all, thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent with us viewers...your paintings are beautiful.
Wanted to paint a nearly same painting from a walk I made this morning and I am very grateful to you for sharing this. I hope mine will turn out to be a nice one, though prob not as beautiful as yours. Will see much more of you.

Hi Sam, really great lesson. Love this painting. As in all of your works, this one has such beautiful color harmony. I’ve learned a lot from you describing your color mixes as you paint. I know you don’t have Thanksgiving in your part of the world. But I’m always thankful for a new Samuel Earp video. Best, John South Florida
I'm really thankful that you tell us the name and number of each brush you use and all the colors you use. That's hard to find and VERY useful for beginners like me! Thanks so much!
I am so glad I just found you. I am a beginner painter and your explanation along with showing your reference and even telling me what colors to mix Nd what brushes to use is the best i have found. Thank you so much. I m going to try to attempt one And if I can I am going to join you as a patron. You are so kind to do this . As a beginner , I love to paint and desire to very much. I am hoping with your help i an achieve this goal. Thank you again. Kathy
Samuel amazing detail and depth in your plein air painting, greatly appreciated you sharing your talent to inspire others. I'm enjoying your videos with great explanation how you achieve great pictures. I'm in southwest UK so it's dark here by 4.30 0pm.Thanks stay safe and healthy.
Thanks Philip, glad you are enjoying the videos. I grew up in southwest England, I lived in Exeter, I also lived in Plymouth for a few years and Cornwall. Where in the southwest do you live? 😊
Samuel it's a small world, I lived in Exeter for about 20 yrs. We now live just outside place called Ashburton midway between Exeter and Plymouth on the edge of Dartmoor. Stay safe
Thank you. Yes this is in New Zealand. Many European and American trees have been introduce here so some of the landscape reminds me of parts of England 😊
Hi Sherry, I have made a video on this, here is the link: th-cam.com/video/CBwW-SEk1Ic/w-d-xo.html I also have a full length version of this fall trees video on my Patreon channel: www.patreon.com/samuel_earp_artist 😊

Hey Deloris, yes, I have a painting tutorial video on painting this art work, it is available from my website as part of my SEASCAPES video bundle. Here is the link: www.samuelearp.com/downloads/seascapes-painting-tutorial-videos
Hey Sam ..! how are you doing ? thank you so much for this kind tutorial video, I think that the landscapes in New Zealand gave a big opportunity to the artists to learning how to paint I think that you are lucky that you live there hhhhhh
Samuel that final result is hands down the most beautiful tree I've ever seen painted on you tube !! It is so vibrant and fresh -- so lively and pretty ! Could this be achieved with Acrylics as well do you think ?? Thank you so much for sharing your skills and knowledge !!
Hi Sam, i am new here. ur videos are so amazing. thank you so so much! the only issue i have is,,,,normally when i do plein air or event, i am normally asked to finish it in one day or 2, is there tip you can do that ? i do not have time to let it dry layers by layer, i did use acrylics to block in,,but,, if i bring both, my bagpack is so so heavy..
Thank you so much. With regards to plein air painting, very often I’ll just do the painting in one outdoor session and leave it at that, but sometimes I add more details in the studio. Using a medium called Liquin original speeds up the drying time of the paint so that can help of you need to get things done quickly 😊
What colours are you having difficulty with mixing? With regards to lighting I have a cool white light and a warm white light. It can be good to keep the light in your studio a little darker so the colours on your canvas pop when they are under studio light. It also means your paintings will look better in low light 😊
Thanks Sam. I use Liquin in my studio as well. To be honest long term I want to switch to using other less toxic mediums in my studio but as I am in the hustling stage of my art business I use Liquin for the convenience of the quick drying time. I still always keep in mind the fat over lean rule when painting and I use much less Liquin as I build up the layers in the painting. I even in the later stages sometimes use a medium called Liquin Impasto which also allows for thicker layers. 😊
@@bhavyad4072 Hello. You can use drying linseed oil as a substitute for regular linseed oil, but it dries a lot faster. It is because of an additive the company adds to speed drying time. It's similar to the function of liquin but is runny like regular linseed oil
