Reaction guns n roses November rain and don't cry
During a jam session at the band's house in the Sunset Strip, drummer Steven Adler and Slash were warming up and Slash began to play a "circus" melody while making faces at Adler. Rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin asked Slash to play it again. Stradlin came up with some chords, Duff McKagan created a bassline and Adler planned a beat. In his autobiography, Slash said "within an hour my guitar exercise had become something else." Lead singer Axl Rose was listening to the musicians upstairs in his room and was inspired to write lyrics, which he completed by the following afternoon. He based it on his girlfriend Erin Everly (daughter of Don Everly and Venetia Stevenson), and declared that Lynyrd Skynyrd served as an inspiration "to make sure that we'd got that heartfelt feeling. On the next composing session in Burbank, the band added a bridge and a guitar solo.
listen to Australian Crawl - "Unpublished Critics" and everything will become clear.
Yeah right. Every band need a good story 😅
Next stop on the Disneyland tour

One of the greatest music vids ever produced. 'Appetite for Destruction' album is iconic...
I wouldn’t say iconic video. I would say iconic song. Lots better videos in the 80’s. But my opinion
@@dominicschiro9939 The second I see a black and white video that starts with a rottweiler I know sweet child of mine is coming on.
@@dominicschiro9939definitely iconic for that fact that it was simple
This song is used in anything and everywhere. It's one of the most popular songs ever created.
no joking but ive just discovered this song last week (im 24 years old bruh how tf did i miss it) and I LOVE IT SO MUCH, i always heard the band’s name but somehow never heard their songs… im really really glad that i discovered it now❤
35 years old and still one of the best songs i've ever heard. 😍 But i'm feeling a little bit old now... Guns N' Roses was my youth.
I know how you feel. I'm 61 and I still love this song also "Paradise City"
Got into listening rock music by Guns… I started with “Don’t cry” and I remember this song as being too heavy for me. Now it’s one of the songs that marked my youth…
Such a classic rock tune never get sick of listening to Slash 🎩🎸
The sound of this song is so iconic to me. Takes me back to great times in my life. Back when me and my wife were new and our families were alive and well. They're all gone now including my wife. Alone in the world but the music sits me there beside them as if time hasn't passed. Ahh to be 20 again.
Thank you very much for sharing this here. Music is magical in so many aspects
I'm so sorry to hear that. you sharing this makes me appreciate my wife and children even more. and appreciate you. i can only break down in tears to imagine losing the same. i hope that you can find some hope in what remains.
One of the best rock bands of all time.Brings back fond memories of the 90's.Axl Rose has mellowed out since his younger days.
His inflated ego killed the group, but he was never anything but a solid musician, and in that I can respect him.
@@chrismaverick9828 Killed the group? You do realise the "not in this lifetime" tour is and has been one of the most successful tours in music history?
I would agree if they had staying power
That opening riff played by Slash is a real "finger twister"! I have heard many guitarists play it, or at least TRY to play it but I've never heard anyone play it as smoothly as Slash! It's almost like it is done by a machine he is so perfect!
I agree one of the best albums of all time. I got lucky enough to see them in 88 or 89 opening for Aerosmith. GnR put on an amazing show as an opener they played a full set 1.5 hours and then Aerosmith played for 2.5 hours it was a great day of Rock and Roll
The greatest rock ballad of all time!!
You must have heard this many times before! Even if rock is not your music. This is one of the best rock song ever in my opinion. Glad you enjoyed it
Axl Rose has a 5 octave range . That is impressive . It became iconic because people took to the vibe instantly . That emotional feeling you get that is almost nostalgic and a bit sad .
Wasn't it 6 octaves?
@@MaidikIslarjno that was Freddie Mercury
@@albertanderson6770 Freddie had 4.5
That guitar that Slash ( the guy in the op hat) is playing is a hand made 1959 Les Paul, less than a hundred made
No one knows the song Sweet Child'o Mine, but everyone knows the intro to it. That is Rock n Roll Evergreen !
This is one of the greatest songs of all time as far as I am concerned. Definitely takes me back to my high school days. I am so happy the younger generation is discovering our music. I love watching your reaction to a song that has moved me for 30 years.
One of the most famous guitar openings ever. Capital One used it & Slash in a commercial recently in the USA.
Hard to believe I’m nostalgic over GNR. One hell of a band.
Clásico;!!!! 🎸🎸🤘 Axl Rose el mejor de los 90 s. !! ❤️🔥 SDS desde Chile 🇨🇱
Can we acknowledge the drummer. Excellent drumming.
Appetite of destruction is best album ever. And may still be best selling debut album of any artist. Great reaction Inna.
Guns-n-Roses is another iconic band with an iconic song from the '80's. The verse from another famous song, " Today's music just doesn't have the same soul". Rock On Guns and Rose!!!;🤘🤟✊🤙👊💥🔥
The guitarist wearing a magicians hat is Slash. One of the best guitarist ever.
7:30. There was a show on Mtv called “Head Bangars Ball”. I seen “Welcome to the Jungle” It got on there once, it was my first album purchase as a child.
it's só good to see young woman liking of retro music
Lyrics: 💞👌
She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything was as fresh
As the bright blue sky (sky)
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry
Whoa-o-oh, sweet child o' mine
Whoa-o-o-oh, sweet love of mine
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I'd hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Whereas a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain to quietly pass me by
Whoa-o-oh, sweet child o' mine
Whoa-o-o-oh, sweet love of mine
Whoa-o-o-oh, sweet child o' mine
Whoa-o-o-oh, sweet love of mine
Whoa-o-o-oh, sweet child o' mine
Ooh, yeah, o-o-oh, sweet love of mine
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Oh, where do we go now?
Where do we go?
(Sweet child)
Where do we go now?
Oh, where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh, where do we go now?
Oh, where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh, where do we go now?
Now, now, now, now, now, now, now
Sweet child
Sweet child o' mine
Pretty good for a dude warming up his fingers (The intro was Slash basically working through a scale)
My fav song to play in guitar ❤😊
this is easily one of my favorite songs
One of the bests intros
In the late 80s and early 90s I was a big G&R fan and listened to one of their albums every day. And listening to them now bring back those, not all great, memories. But the music is still great and the memories have faded. It is great to see you experiencing this music for the first time and you're obviously loving it too.
amidst so much wrong during those years, something so artistically right! planets aligned
Best rockstars in the world!!! Helo from salta argentina!!!!
Fun reaction to this great song. This is the song that introduced me to them. 🎸 and iconic Slash 🎸 😊 have a rocking weekend 🎉❤
Hi from Sheffield Yorkshire England O EVERY TIME I EAR THIS SONG IT AKWAY TEMINDS ME OF MY BABY GIRL!!
Great reaction 💙🖤💙
If you know some guitarists it's normal to recognize... the riff of sweet child O' Mine is played by everyone, almost as much as the intro of Stairway to heaven 😁🤘
I enjoyed watching you discover & appreciate this song 😊👍
Fun fact slash is 1/2 African 1/2 British Saul Hudson IMO is the greatest guitarist to ever grace a Gibson Les Paul with his presence.😊
SLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Guns n Roses brought use one of our guitar Gods!
Finally someone who reacts to the best version of this song by the origional lineup of this band for 2 albums after the Spaghetti Incident they went downhill.
80s & 90s hard rock, 40 years later and STILL makin' panties drop! Longevity like a mfer
Great reaction! This is a classic!
You make Perfek Videos 🤩! Nothing needs to be changed!
....still remember hearing this song in 1988...I bought the cassette tape for Appetite for Destruction- never gets old
Loved your reaction ❤
Thank you ❤️
I just discovered your channel today. I love your reaction videos. I saw Guns N Roses in 1987 in Lakeland Florida opening for Motley Crue. I still have the tinnitus and wear hearing aids at 54; totally worth it. The whole album (CD) Appetite for Destruction is worth a listen or a hundred.
This song had heavy airplay on MTV in the days music was the dominate content on the channel. Slash did the opening rift on a Capital One commercial here in the US. The song made it in a few movie soundtracks including Thor Love and Thunder and Captain Fantastic (I've not seen either yet) and at least 3 others I saw listed (not sure if they were all original artists versions or covers).
Some songs you know what is as soon as you hear half a second of it, this is one of those, iconic guitar riff yers, i think its just iconic for how simple it is, and yet so impactful, once you heard this guitar riff, you just know it, i think its the music itself that made it iconic, and not a movie..Its like the riff from Smoke on the water, everyone who play guitar can learn it pretty fast, and that is one way to create a iconic riff, if it also sounds good.
Awsome reaction to a great song and band. 😀😃😄😁😊
I remember hearing the whole album when it came out in the summer of '87. A friend of mine got his mother to buy it for him. I hadn't heard anything like their style before. Don't get me wrong, it's just blues based rock n roll, but they had that something extra that blew me away at 12 years old.
It really WAS different. I can only describe it as chaotic glam rock. The elements of glam rock are there: The high voice, the hard hitting guitar solos, the tight pants, the whole intonation is Glam Rock. But it really is a chaotic form of it. It doesn't follow the normal Glam form, instead mixing things up and really pulling in the strains of rock that you hear more prominently in Black Sabbath or other similar groups. It punches in a way that glam didn't, yet still maintains a musical truth that compares to the way Iron Maiden would to Opera. The strength and purity is there, but mixed up a bit differently than normal. GNR was one of the most perfect transition groups to grace rock.
Love just the musicians playing their instruments including the instrument of voice. Guns and Roses are iconic. Love them, studio version only though. Lol.
the funny thing is the lead singer axl rose has a pretty deep voice. his range is big but his normal voice is pretty low. thats compared to his high pitched voice most ppl dont think its him when a low voice comes in but the song: mr brownstone is a great example and mr brownstone is the drugs just a hint. cause it can sound weird if you dont know the reference.
It was in a commercial in the US too
Wonderful amazing ❤❤❤
I was 15. And I saw an album called Live Like A Suicide that had a version of Mama Kin by Aerosmith. So I bought it. Little did I know Appetite was soon after. I was already a fan and it became the biggest thing ever. I was a early fan.
It gives the vibes of nostalgic moments i never had...
WHEN SHE GOT MARRIED WE HAD THIS SONG GOR FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE IT WAS AMAZING!!!❤❤❤
Great job not interrupting the Slash solos!
You will love Boston.
Yup, classic banger.
It's Iconic because Appetite for destruction is one of the biggest selling albums in history.
Slash... Nuff said. The man is magic.
I grew up listening to rock music in the 70's and this is one of the few songs since thenthat came out later but fits in the classic rock hall of fame.
Since Lynyrd Skynyrd was the influence, you gotta check out Free Bird live from Oakland.
Green eyes are rarer than blue eyes.
Slash the guitarist is English born, He later went to the US and the rest is history.
At that time they were bigger then The Rolling Stones ! They open for them in Oct 1989 but and drug addiction, particularly heroin use, had deteriorated some of the members' skills. Two police officers had to carry Axl to the stage where he made chaos before beginning to act 🎉
Great job with your reaction to the video and song Sweet Child Of Mine from Guns and Roses . Side note about the person who director this video his name is Nigel Dick he has also directed Videos for Britney Spears . Axl Rose sing this song about his girlfriend at the time she one with the long hair wearing the white suite.
GNR Was The Biggest Rock Band All The Time, In Late 80'S, GNR Won The MTV Video Music Award (VMA), Since 1989,1990,1992,1993. Beating U2 Albums, Metallica Albums, And Nirvana Albums in The MTV Music Video Award. Then GNR Vacuum in The Middle Of 1993, Then Came The Famous Alternative Bands, Such As: Nirvana, Pearl jam, And SmashingPumpkins. Nirvana is Famous For Entering The Same Music Recording Studio As GNR, Namely Universal Studio Music, Through The Album Nevermind. Even though Previously Nirvana Was Not Famous at The Time, When They Were Still in Their Indipop Music Studio. The Famous Alternative Music Band From 1993-1995. Then GNR Held A Reunion At Troubadour in L.A. And The Coachella Music Festival in 2006. Many Hollywood Artists Came, Watched The GNR Reunion, Because Everyone Missed The Band GNR Rock Music, Because The Music GNR Was Very Nice To Hear. I Loved The Band GNR. From Solihin in Central Jakarta. Indonesia. 💖👫💖👫👌👍👏👏.
you were right, was the commercial of Ferrarelle, a brand of bottled water here in Italy.
Slash has just Bought a 1958 Les Paul Burst that was kept locked away for 54 Years in Paris which he has named Bridget. I bet it wan`t cheap 🤣🤣
Slash from GNR did a commercial where he was auditioning to get in band with female singer
R.I.P. Steven Adler
The AmaZinG thing isss that You Tube claims I watched half of this and don't even remember. Even more peculiar is it happened in the last 6 months
Omg im a big fan off guns n roses the names are slash axl Duff Izzy steven
If everyone on the planet were honest, and decided the greatest and best popular music would be the only genre to listen to...
It would be Rock & Roll.
Hi Inna, just do Oktaf Kanis - Come On, thank youuu ❤
Good reaction. If you enjoyed this one so much, I got some suggestions of their songs for you to react to: "Paradise city"; "November rain"; "Patience".
I think you'll love one called Patience. By Guns N Roses too
This song has been covered by so many
All of the old stuff is better than anything they make today.
Appetite of destruction is best album ever.
Check out this same group just a live performance. Live @ the Ritz 1988. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was at that concert. I still have the ticket. $20. 88 MTV GNR’s live at the Ritz NYC.
In the beginning of “Welcome to the Jungle” Axl tells the story of the name of the song. Then in his iconic voice said…”So Welcome to the Jungle…Ritz!! After he said that everyone went nuts. Can’t really hear it on you tube. But being there, great night!! That was the last small venue I saw them at. That same summer they sold out the old Giants stadium in Jersey w/Aerosmith. But everyone was there for guns. Then saw then another 12 times including 3 times since they got back together. Best band still!!!
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
I only have one thing on my bucket list
Playing this solo
Yet I'm 46 and have never picked up a guitar
❤❤❤❤❤❤
The guitar part, which is so recognizable, was actually something Slash used to warm up before they started to play their actual music. Unbeknownst to Slash Axl liked the warm-up sound and turned it into a song. Slash was not a big fan of this and hated to play it until they played it live and he saw how out of their brains the audience went on the first few notes he played. It is legendary, pure brilliance, the whole album... Best guitar pron out there.
It's the age-old adage that even the simplest of things performed by a master can overwhelm the listeners. So many artists hate their own work because they feel it is sub-par and simplistic, not representative of their ability. A simple tune by the right person in the right moment can make for a masterpiece for the masses. That type of artist needs to realize that the reason there is art is that it is to be enjoyed by others. If you make a song that is incredibly complex and shows your skills but it never finds a heart to latch onto, is that success? If you make a simple tune that people find various incredible meanings and feelings within, is that failure?
Slash has come to understand that over the years. Maybe it's not his favorite, but he knows that it is the favorite of a lot of people who find meaning in it. THAt is what it is to be an artist.
@@chrismaverick9828 and something that evokes emotion in people and speaks to their souls doesn't have to be some incredible masterpiece of skill and mastery. It often is quite simple. Not saying the iconic riff here is simple, but it is very distinctive. One such example of a simple yet something you feel in your soul is Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. That thing is barely playing and it is one of the best songs ever written. The emotional baggage it has is just mind blowing. Music speaks to us, it is a universal language and one that brings together people from all walks of life... Slash is a master of his instrument.
true story,she's from 90's late
nice lyrics:)
This music video version of the song actually cuts quite a lot of guitar parts out, be sure to listen to the album version too
Slash and Axl were destined to meet. Back in the day were the Best Rock band ever! They ARE GnR ! Period.
Their peak
Unfortunantly these youtube versions are shorter than the actual radio versions!
Almost the last real rock band that epitomises SEX ,drugs and Rock and Roll . How the hell they are all still alive God knows . I saw them this Jan in Melbourne Aust and this song went off , as you would expect it to . They are still really good to see 30 years later.
I've watched this video a hundred times and I have never noticed that it changed to colour at the end. Probably because I was focussing on the music.
Guns N’ Roses are the definition of iconic:}>
Way back in 1988, when I was in college, Art degree, and we had "Life Drawing" classes, both male and female. One day, our male model, who was young, muscular, and wearing a bandana on his head -our class was sketching him in poses, nude, in circle around him. Our Teacher went out to make a phone call. Our Male Model, decided to have some fun, when the Teacher was out, and broke into his Axl Rose imitation, nude except for the bandana, started to sway, dance, sing "Sweet Child of Mine" -nude. He did well with the the singing, and moves. We laughed! By the time our Teacher returned, we were back to model and student sketch behavior. 😆🤫
You've probably heard the opening guitar notes many times on mobile phone ring tones.....
I SAY BABY GIRL (SHE'S 39 NOW) TNE WORDS TO THIS SONG I THINK ATE HOW EVERY DAD FEELS ABOY HIS BABY!!
they use this song on thor love and thunder
