This kid brought it all: he goes from a whisper to belting in a single phrase, he nails every note going from major to minor keys, and his voice breaks in a way that makes you think he's about to cry before he hits the next high note. First, I was really impressed that he chose to sing "You Don't Own Me", which Lesley Gore had the guts to sing in 1963, when women were widely considered to be "less than" men. That choice of a song was bold and refreshing for a 15 year old male. Second, he had the courage and ability to make the song his own and not mimic others' versions. Bravo Reid!

@@anisbiebr Everyone better remember that name! Reid Wilson!
Blue eyed soul is not dead. This kid has got it..
I can’t imagine standing on that stage in front of millions of people at 50 yrs old let alone 14. He’s definitely going places..
The first notes 🎶 were already captivating
Amazing 👏🏼
I agree
Howie never misses the golden buzz for talented kids...Wholesome
So proud of him 👏👏👏👏
Seeing Howie accept a hug from someone he just gave the golden buzzer to was the most precious part of this video
Howie hugs but doesn't shake hands
this voice is just magnificent, what power, what accuracy and what stage presence despite the shyness. Bravo to him for the golden buzzer and well deserved
Great job, Reid!! You represented Alabama well!! Great manners…that’s how we do it here in Alabama!
