I just wanted to say Scotty, thank you for all of the years of watching your videos, I finally switched from a used Dodge 1500 2006 - it was all I could afford, to a upgrade for me which is a 2013 Honda CRV and it is such a fantastic difference, I love this car so much and I can't thank you enough for all of the hours of knowledge and experience that you shared with me and everyone else who watches your videos. Have a '13 CR-V, an '08 4Runner and a '13 Highlander in the family. We never have any mechanical issues - only oil changes, tires, battery and brakes. Great reliability!
Our 2003 Honda CRV with AWD and a 5 speed manual transmission had 262,000 miles when a pickup backed up into it and the car was totaled. Over 14 years we only had one $80 repair. Other than regular oil & filter changes and a couple of brake pad replacements the car never had maintenance. Wish we still had the car.

This guy has really opened my eyes about what cars and SUVs are worth the money. I used to be soooo in love with BMW, but after a few of his videos and further research, I've completely jumped that ship. Expensive toys that last a couple of years will.never be worth the financial headaches.
Don't let people make up your mind for you. Buy a well maintained example and do your research before you buy. I've had my Mercedes for 3 years now and nothing but smiles. All cars require maintenance and all cars can break down...
i bought my 2005 Highlander 3 years ago for 6k, and i am still in love with it. at 200k miles, no more payment, and it still runs like a dream and people really do freak when i tell them how any miles are on it.
Scotty you seem to love japanese made vehicles and talk about them a lot. And guess what....... you're 1000% percent right, they are well made, with Toyota and Honda at the top. I have a 2003 camry with 320,000 miles and trust me it's still going trouble free.
Do know any aftermarket double din android car stereo that can fit in a camry 2003. Mine have 190k miles on it. Am planning to keep it for more 2-3 years. Meanwhile I bought it from auction.
I have a 2000 Honda accord lx 4 cylinder with 180kish miles for nearly 3yrs now. For about 2 months now. I had to change the battery, starter, spark plugs and gasket valve(from an oil leak) alternator and ignition switch. Right now it currently has an engine check light on and brake lamp. My 1994 Acura Integra was more reliable than this pile of junk. So yeah, my honda is proof that there are exceptions to the rule. Needless to say. I will be selling it off and looking to get a SUV. Maybe one mentioned here.
My 2001 RAV4 with 233,000 miles is starting to have trans problems... :( It would shift from first to second, back to first, then second, third, etc. Stopped driving it the same day. My retired Toyota mechanic switched out the transmission control computer because the trans was still good. He ran it for 30miles and had no issues. About 2 days later, it started again, but not every day. It's been a week now and she is having problems going from 2nd to 3rd, but it doesn't do it every day. I'm thinking I should go for a 2016 used RAV. They are all coming off lease now with less than 35,000 miles on them and $10,000 less than new.
I’d be careful. I’ve owned both the MDX and the RX and my MDX has had no trouble at all and my wife’s RX has had nothing but trouble. I’ve had to fix everything from the power steering box to rebuilding the engine. That RX is a total disaster. While more than ten years with the MDX and not a single repair. Just standard maintenance. From my experience the Acura is just a better vehicle. I won’t buy anything else. My personal experience has shown the Acura MDX to our perform the RX. The performance is better and the reliability is much better. Not even close. I’d never buy another RX after every I’ve had to deal with.
AmeriJam Acres your problem could be your wife. Not to assume anything but knowing mine drives like a maniac and always has car issues I don’t believe any car could last long with little issues.
The RDX is an Acura (the smaller sibling to the MDX). Trust me, I will not buy anything else besides Honda. My last two cars were Hondas, and they both made it over 200,000 miles without any issues. The (Lexus) RX is not my cup of tea.
My 1999 Honda CR-V runs so good, the AWD has gotten me out of snow easy and still no problems 297,000 miles original engine and everything but a AC compressor and water pump that I did myself and saved money but regular maintenance on those things will keep it running like a champ, trust it completely has shown me how good it is and is worth every penny I paid for it back in 1999, now I have a 2017 ridgeline but still I drive that CRV and I can’t believe that it had 0 miles when I bought it and here I am 20 years later and it about to roll over 300,000 miles
Hey Scotty you are right about Lexus vehicles,i just bought my wife a 2009 Lexus Es350 with 139,000 miles and still rides like new. I’m convinced Lexus are the best vehicles built in the world.
I've got a 2003 lexus gs300 over 200.000mls nothing wrong with it, all I do is oil,,tyres,brake pads,hard to believe but it's true,best car I've ever owned!😁
I have a 2012 Honda CR-V and couldn't agree more. VERY reliable, solid vehicle. Mine has 64K and I change the oil and put gas in it, the body and interior is holding up well, looks good, gas mileage is 24 mph a mix of hwy and city driving. No trouble, original brakes, I like it better than my former RAV4. They aren't real exciting cars, but keeping $ in my purse is exciting. In fact I was thinking of selling it and getting a BMW X3 but after watching this, I'll keep my CRV.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I come from a family where nearly all of us had a speech impediment until 8-10 yrs old. I double checked his last name to see if he was Italian!
We bought the 2017 Honda CRV LX AWD (2.4 liter) base model. No turbos and lag. We stuck with the reliable 2.4L and minimal tech for a reason. Runs smooth and great to this day! Synthetic oil change every 5 thousand and differential fluid change every 15. Thanks Scotty for the review.
Scotty is right about the Lexus RX350. I bought a used 2008 RX350 more than 2 years ago for around $10k already put in 40k miles on it. My wife has a 2012 RX350 and when she drives my car that has double the miles of her Lexus, she says it drives so smoothly. they are truly well built cars - not perfect, but close. I just change the oil, trans fluid and air filters, and it runs great.
Over that period there may have been a suspension change, from strut either end to double wishbone front & rear. Some people like the strut feel & durability.
I just bought a 2010 RX350 & I just knew that it will be #1 on his list... I absolutely love it.. this has to be the best suv ever made.. 10 years old drives like its new
Weird how they try to copy German SUV’s. Just less HP with no handling. When compared to American, smaller less capable of off road. Jeep’s off road and the big three own size and towing. He likes Japanese because he is of smaller stature and when you sit next to the road it seems fast,,,,, but it’s not.
Scotty, I have been a follower for almost 3 years (with my old account), wanted to say thank you! Your videos have saved me so many times. You've helped me fix the lemon I bought and Stopped me from buying more lemons. Thank you! Stay great!
Thanks Scotty I traded in my 2011 VW Tiguan replaced 2 radiators in 3 years, and bought 2017 Acura RDX it's the same as 2016 model. The Tiguan did have a great ride though. The RDX has timing belt only knock great SUV.
Thank you for your information. We ended up picking up a one owner leased 2016 Lexus 350 and in prime condition with 39,000 miles in it. This is my second Lexus 350, I owned a 2009 which is now in the hands of my married daughter. Our new one is great, beautiful and at 70 years old we plan on this being the last car for us. Thanks again.
22 yrs ago bought a new 97 1st gen blue CR-V LX real time awd, visited several national parks, great memories with it, all this time used builtin-table only once, got 210k miles when we split in 2008, still running very good, well, divorce have to give it to her, ha ha ha.
I have a AWD CRV 2004 she has 223000 and I drive back and forth from Bucks county PA to Balitomore every other weekend. I hope she lasts to 400K I've replaced tires/ brakes/ rotors/ 02 sensor, wipers, headlights, I'm so thankful for my dad he was able to do all the work and get the parts at dealer cost since he used to be a dealer. I love my CRV!!!
Think about this as long as you need to let it sink in: Scotty, a high-level mechanic that’s been working on vehicles for the past 50+ years… Out of all the quality SUVs that he listed in this video, the number one pick he recommended that his audience of almost 5,000,000 subscribers to buy… Is a Lexus RX 350 2016 model… Which is the most modern version. Just think about how good these Lexus RX 350s would have to be in terms of the entire package for him to recommend you purchase this SUV. That’s something to think about!
I know! It's why I keep going back to the Lexus dealership and test-driving the Lexus RX350s. 2018-2022. Been in 4 different models in a week. Problem is, they are boring to drive, and they wallow on the winding NZ highways. I keep trying to talk myself into a Lexus, but it's like marrying the accountant that your parents approve of, when you just aren't in love.
@Scotty Kilmer ... Your videos inspired me so much that I bought a used 2007 Lexus RX 350 with about 175,000 miles on it for my teenage daughter as her first car. After fixing a few odds and ends and new fluids the car drives like a dream. We are hoping to get a few 100K more miles out of it. Thank you!
If you get one with very low mileage and really take care of it. Mine (2008) exploded @ 274k with a failed main head gasket. We loved the car, but it was also a rust bucket. What a shame.
bought a 2010 Lexus RX450h a week ago. I had my eye on it for a while, but this video is what made up my mind and I'm eternally grateful. It DOES drive like a dream. Came with all kinds of fun functions. The headlights turning according to the steering wheel is what amazed me the most. Did not expect that.
Actually, I have been researching this a lot. Lexus Rx350 does now come with optional third row seating, called the RXL. However, I would not recommend it as that third row is pretty much relegated to small babies and chihuahuas; not humans which is why this one got nixed from my list. I am going for the Highlander.
We have a 2016 Rav4 with only 83,000 miles on it and it recently started to shudder at certain speeds while accelerating. Took it to the shop and they said the torque converter is going out and it cost over $4,000 to reair. Apparently this is a common issue on the Rav4, just usually doesn't happen on one with this low of mileage. We are devastated.
On the CR-V with the 1.5 T engine, Honda is addressing the oil dilution problem by.. replacing the Climate Control Unit and the Drain Plug Washer. Also in updating the PGM-FI and TCM Software. So if you read negative comments from people saying that Honda is not doing anything about it..It’s FALSE!
I just Purchase a Mazda CX 5 Touring 2015 it had 74000 miles and one owner had it for 7 years. It has all the bells and whistles. I look at the Toyota Rav4 and the Honda CRV and look at your channel and other Channels on youtube. It seems the that Mazda CX 5 had and offers more features for the money and it is a very reliable car. people overlook the Mazda cars. And seeing your video on the history of Mazda I know I made the right choice. Scotty thank you for what you do.
Anabella Gordon I would like to see that too. But it is no surprise to anyone that the Japanese manufacturers just can’t be beat when it comes to reliability.
I'm new to Scotty's channel and love it! We purchased a 2003 Highlander brand new for $23,600, it has 235,000 miles on an original enigine/transmission and still going. Oil, tires, breaks and three kids!
I mean LEMON Type BAD DEAL( CARS, ) NOT LEMON Type (CATS, ) OF COURSE & IT WON'T LET ME Edit IT. Hitting All THE NEXT WRONG LETTERS. WHERE'S MY OTHER OTHER GLASSES 🤓 GONE TOO, DARN IT !!!! SMILES 😁
@@guillermoloredo67 He actually responded to that critique. He said he films in the early morning or afternoon after he is done working on cars. Says he spends his time wisely.
I had a 1996 4runner for 13 years, 205k miles on it. It was running great, could have gone another 100k at least. But it was totaled in a 5 car collision on the freeway. I was the middle car. Took the insurance money and went out and bought a brand new 4runner. Love these cars!
Great SUVs, same with the MDX. Only issue they had was the first two years of the first gen had weak transmissions. They've been practically bulletproof since though, and they have very high resale value.
@@mercedescardenas03c I had a 2003 Pilot that I traded in with 160K miles. in 2015 for a CRV. That's bec we both a 2008 MDX which I love and for 7 yrs, we had 7 seater SUVs. With Honda SUVs, you have to be diligent with transmission and rear differential fluid service. Honda's transmission is not as good as Toyota's.
@coffeeinthemorning U R. Instead of people complaining about Japanese cars, beat 'em. Make better vehicles intead of using "guilt trip" advertising. My Nissan and Mazda both made it 200,000+ miles and I beat the hell out of those cars.
I have a 2016 rdx adv pkg. Test drove the RX and personally found the Lexus less comfortable and less spacious. The dash was messy and had no flow to it vs the rdx and every rx I sat in has this weird sulfur smell to it. My rdx is just a pleasure to drive. I got everything on it. Sensors. Lane assist. Adaptive Cruise control. Heated and cooled seats. I has 9 speaker surround sound with sub. I got the Real leather seats and they feel soft and amazing to sit in vs the fake leather. Worth every dollar to me and even with all the drawbacks on the rx, the rx was still more expensive. I couldn’t believe it. If you’re looking for comfort, luxury, and just an amazing driving experience - just test drive the rdx advance package. Make sure it’s advance, not tech package. I look forward to driving this car ever day. I find any reason to get in it and drive down to the gas station just for a 50cent candy bar. I paid 31k otd where I live for it. It had 23k miles when I bought it.
Im not a car guy or anything I just found your channel by doing some research on the next car I should get and I got to say I enjoy pretty much every single video. Keep up the good content and humor. Hi from Sweden
Scott my man, greetings from Phoenix. I'd like to share with you this. I owned/own: 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe - 200,525mi (still own since purchased new) 5 star experience 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee - sold at 74,800 mi - (purchased new) 2 star experience 2004 Honda civic - sold at 85,000 mi (purchased new) 4 star experience 2007 Toyota Camry - 85,000 MI (purchased new) still own - engine has a metallic rattle when I turn it on since 70k mi mark - 3.5 star experience 2010 Chevrolet Colorado - 120k mi (purchased used at 109k - still own) - solid truck - 4.5 star experience 2010 Honda Civic GX - 60k mi (purchased used at 36k MI - still own) - solid driver but exterior F/R bumpers keep falling apart - 4.5 star experience 2014 Nissan Altima - 74,000 mi (purchased new - still own) 3 star experience - feels like a piece of crap while driving. 2014 Honda CR-V - 60,000 mi (purchased new - still own) 5 star experience - still drives like new 2016 Honda CR-V - 25,000 mi (purchased new - still own) 5 star experience. Still drives like new. 2019 Tesla Model 3 - 2500 mi (purchased new - still own) 3.5 star experience as it's an annoying car to drive. Noises and lack of button controls and battery will spend 10% just to drive 15mi with the ac on. Very fragile. But smooth driving vehicle. As you can see, Hondas and Chevy have given me a better experience than Toyota. I'm not a fan of them at all. They're too light and not attractive to me. Unfortunately I think Honda makes ugly looking large cuvs, and I'm still very much a fan of Body on frame suvs. I'm looking to replace my wonderful Tahoe but don't feel the new ones are built the same way plus very pricey. Nor do I think I want something that heavy anymore. Maybe something midsize suv and somewhat luxorious but I'd like at least a 6cylinder engine, high off the ground, and super roomy. What do you recommend? I was thinking about giving the dodge durango/acura mdx/Mazda cx9//lexus rx a shot. But I don't want that crossover ride feel, I'd like more of a true suv drive and height since I have crossovers already. I test drove the 2019 audi q7/chevy traverse/gmc acadia/terrain/dodge durango/bmw x5/bmw 340i/Toyota 4runner (work truck) and the only ones that really stuck with me was the BMW 340i and the dodge durango. But I hate that dodge and bmw make pieces of junk. What's your feedback?
i went for ONE to 2016 CR V now almost 59.000 kms,,,,saying to change the oils at 62.000 i am going to change it soon ,,,,0w 20 for the engine,,anyone knows for the transmission ,,,front and BACK?
You know what just blew my mind? The Acura symbol is an "H" but tapered a lot and the crossbar is near the top to make it almost look like an "A". I literally just realized it while seeing their symbols next to each other.
Hi, I am also thinking in buying a rav4, could you please be kind and tell me if it was a good decisoby? And if is not to much could you give me some details of the car like engine, kilometres price
I want a small cuv so no one can ask me to lug them all over the freaking world...lol. oh yeah, I want a 7 year warranty too baby🤩love your knowledge...you are so fun to watch too

This seals the deal for me. I was considering buying an RDX, and Scotty just gave me his blessing. Lol.
Wow, wow, did you buy it already? How do you like it?
Oh i see why john lennon doesn’t make songs anymore, he’s now an auto mechanic. Good job Mr. Lennon.
If Scotty ever stopped working on cars, he should take up being an orchestra conductor.
🤣

My 1999 Honda CR-V runs so good, the AWD has gotten me out of snow easy and still no problems 297,000 miles original engine and everything but a AC compressor and water pump that I did myself and saved money but regular maintenance on those things will keep it running like a champ, trust it completely has shown me how good it is and is worth every penny I paid for it back in 1999, now I have a 2017 ridgeline but still I drive that CRV and I can’t believe that it had 0 miles when I bought it and here I am 20 years later and it about to roll over 300,000 miles
Love my first gen crv
Hey Scotty you are right about Lexus vehicles,i just bought my wife a 2009 Lexus Es350 with 139,000 miles and still rides like new.
I’m convinced Lexus are the best vehicles built in the world.
Congrats, how much do you buy it? 2011 rx350 sales about $20,000 canadian dollar, do you think it still worth this price?
Chenguang Xu i paid 7000 for my Es350. How many miles on that Rx350?
True Lexus is the best. I live in Panama and bought 4 years ago a RX330 of 2004 with only 79k miles for $12k.
Robert Berding 👍🏻
If Scotty broke his arms, would that be considered a speech impediment?
How to bypass google lock on Samsung galaxy s8 plus
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I come from a family where nearly all of us had a speech impediment until 8-10 yrs old. I double checked his last name to see if he was Italian!
Excellent😂
We own a 2008 Highlander with 275,000 kilometers on it. Bulletproof reliability.

275,000 kilometers = 170,877 miles...
Scotty the sort of guy I’d call a good honest MATE
We bought the 2017 Honda CRV LX AWD (2.4 liter) base model. No turbos and lag. We stuck with the reliable 2.4L and minimal tech for a reason. Runs smooth and great to this day! Synthetic oil change every 5 thousand and differential fluid change every 15. Thanks Scotty for the review.
You’re like me! Frequent oil , transmission & differential fluids are cheap mechanical insurance. Don’t forget antifreeze & brake & power steering fluid changes.
This guy knows what he is talking about. I bought a 2016 Lexus RX350 with his advice and I’m enjoying it man. Thank you Scotty. 🙏
I bet if you tied Scotty’s hands behind his back, he wouldn’t be able to speak!!!
😂😂😂😂 fuckin hell that was good one
Umm.. obviously NOT! He still has legs..
Lmfao it’s funny because when I was I kid I couldn’t speak if my cousins held my hands down 😂

lol
Scotty is right about the Lexus RX350. I bought a used 2008 RX350 more than 2 years ago for around $10k already put in 40k miles on it. My wife has a 2012 RX350 and when she drives my car that has double the miles of her Lexus, she says it drives so smoothly. they are truly well built cars - not perfect, but close. I just change the oil, trans fluid and air filters, and it runs great.
Over that period there may have been a suspension change, from strut either end to double wishbone front & rear. Some people like the strut feel & durability.
Every 3-5 years i get on youtube to look for this guy to tell me what to buy or not. Scotty Yes!
Its always toyota / honda
I just bought a 2010 RX350 & I just knew that it will be #1 on his list... I absolutely love it.. this has to be the best suv ever made.. 10 years old drives like its new
I bought a 2018 Toyota Highlander, and yes, thats the smoothest vehicle i have ever driven so far. Just love it
Bing Shen I bought a 18 SE. I traded a Jeep Grand Cherokee for it and can’t believe how much smoother it rides compared to the Jeep.
I just bought a 2009 Lexus RX350 with 171,000 miles... I changed the brakes/rotors, changed the oil, and it's good to GO!!
All toyota’s and honda products. 100% agree i only clicked on the video to see and this is all accurate for sure.
Yes
Weird how they try to copy German SUV’s. Just less HP with no handling. When compared to American, smaller less capable of off road. Jeep’s off road and the big three own size and towing. He likes Japanese because he is of smaller stature and when you sit next to the road it seems fast,,,,, but it’s not.
Scotty, I have been a follower for almost 3 years (with my old account), wanted to say thank you! Your videos have saved me so many times. You've helped me fix the lemon I bought and Stopped me from buying more lemons. Thank you! Stay great!
[5:54] The 2016 Honda Pilot will hold up just as long as a Highlander and it has way more space.
Thanks Scotty I traded in my 2011 VW Tiguan replaced 2 radiators in 3 years, and bought 2017 Acura RDX it's the same as 2016 model. The Tiguan did have a great ride though. The RDX has timing belt only knock great SUV.
I swear I love the comment section. Such a calm, funny and informative community scotty has 👌🏻
Thank you for your information.
My backup is a 98 CR-V that 207k miles. Been in the family since new.
My back up car is 1998 isuzu trooper with 208k runs like a tank.. And I enjoy it
Michael C considered one of the Best Off Road vehicles! In the top 5!
22 yrs ago bought a new 97 1st gen blue CR-V LX real time awd, visited several national parks, great memories with it, all this time used builtin-table only once, got 210k miles when we split in 2008, still running very good, well, divorce have to give it to her, ha ha ha.
I m glad I got one of those you mentioned.. HONDA CRV 2016 for only $15000 and 26k miles
I'm surprised that the 4Runner wasn't on here.
Oh wait.....nobody sells their 4Runners
😁😁😁
Good one😂!!!
It's basically a Land Cruiser or very close to one depending on model and year. So yeah, people are going to hold on to them.
My mom has one and the only reason she had one is the original owner failed to pay the car note.
some 4Runners weren't good for a few years; that's probably why
I have a AWD CRV 2004 she has 223000 and I drive back and forth from Bucks county PA to Balitomore every other weekend. I hope she lasts to 400K I've replaced tires/ brakes/ rotors/ 02 sensor, wipers, headlights, I'm so thankful for my dad he was able to do all the work and get the parts at dealer cost since he used to be a dealer. I love my CRV!!!
I have 2004 Honda civic, besides the body, it runs good. I've seen luxury cars getting towed during the winters at -20 while my honda turns on np.
Honda, Acura, Toyota, and Lexus for the win.
And Subaru
@@tomcogar851 I thought Subaru vehicles have insane problems with their automatic transmissions and boxer engines.
Demarco Rosas Good question to ask Scotty, but everyone I know (that owns one) love it
And Mitsubishi !! Basically all Japanese make vehicles.
@@MacMac1313 Mitsubishi's can have problems with their automatic transmissions.
We have a 2009 RAV4 limited and a 2019 RAV4 limited and love both of them. Very reliable vehicles
That is what I am trying to buy this guy has one listed on Let Go fffffff he is not getting back to me grrrrrr
His hand movements are giving Jack Sparrow vibes 😊
😂😂
Think about this as long as you need to let it sink in:
Scotty, a high-level mechanic that’s been working on vehicles for the past 50+ years… Out of all the quality SUVs that he listed in this video, the number one pick he recommended that his audience of almost 5,000,000 subscribers to buy… Is a Lexus RX 350 2016 model… Which is the most modern version.
@@susanpolk4544
Yet you're still dating him 😂
When did captain Jack Sparrow get old and start making car videos.

I just made a comment about this 😂
Why is all the rum gone... 🤪

LOL that’s it! NOW, I know who Scotty reminds me of! I couldn’t place it. At least Scotty doesn’t mumble as much.

RAV4 built in Woodstock Ontario Canada.

My friend hated working there but yes they make fantastic cars. Go Canada!
Thank you!
As a mechanic I’d say the 2007-2011 Tahoe’s are a very solid choice! The only reason it didn’t make his list is gas mileage.
I thought they had bad motors.
If you get one with very low mileage and really take care of it. Mine (2008) exploded @ 274k with a failed main head gasket. We loved the car, but it was also a rust bucket. What a shame.
The 2000-05 are the best yrs for Tahoe’s and Yukon’s.
In summary...any used Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura SUV..And I agree..
bought a 2010 Lexus RX450h a week ago.
I had my eye on it for a while, but this video is what made up my mind and I'm eternally grateful.
It DOES drive like a dream. Came with all kinds of fun functions. The headlights turning according to the steering wheel is what amazed me the most. Did not expect that.
You still happy with it
Mr Scotty,I am going to get a 2016 Honda SUV, you said with the 2 wheel drive, but do I get the Ex or Se?
I'd watch his videos even just for the entertainment value. Great guy!
Actually, I have been researching this a lot. Lexus Rx350 does now come with optional third row seating, called the RXL. However, I would not recommend it as that third row is pretty much relegated to small babies and chihuahuas; not humans which is why this one got nixed from my list. I am going for the Highlander.
Buying a new car and Scotty is my go to! I could watch him all day!
We are devastated.
girlfriends Rav 4 with 100k does exactly this too, that's not good news for us.
Dammnn my parents really did their research they bought the top 2 cars on this list
Loved my 2008 Highlander so much i bought a 2019 love it as well 3rd row seat is a lot bigger in the 2019
On the CR-V with the 1.5 T engine, Honda is addressing the oil dilution problem by..
replacing the Climate Control Unit and the Drain Plug Washer. Also in updating the PGM-FI and TCM Software. So if you read negative comments from people saying that Honda is not doing anything about it..It’s FALSE!
I love how this guy explains everything tipsy
Hello tequila 😂
Could be medication.
I think he is just a happy guy.
Truth gets people tipsy shrug. It's a crazy brave new world out there.
6`4 me too that’s why I watch him
I just Purchase a Mazda CX 5 Touring 2015 it had 74000 miles and one owner had it for 7 years.
Scotty you’re the man! Great insight and can’t beat your experience and advice. Thank you for all the useful info!
Dude, your editing is what makes your awesome channel even more hilarious lmao.
Those Japan photos got me!
“Typical Japanese, starts out with something” … *pans to images of Hiroshima*😂
Why I am not surprised that the 5 cars are all japanese?
well probably because being a mechanic for over 50 years, he sees more issues with non Japanese vehicles
@@brap242818 he should make a top five of non-japanese cars, it would be a nice change
Anabella Gordon I would like to see that too. But it is no surprise to anyone that the Japanese manufacturers just can’t be beat when it comes to reliability.
Gee i wonder why that could be?
All made in North America
He is right 100/100 ! I used this Honda CRV for 14 y without a penny in maintenance ! Unbelievable !! Thanks
I'm new to Scotty's channel and love it! We purchased a 2003 Highlander brand new for $23,600, it has 235,000 miles on an original enigine/transmission and still going. Oil, tires, breaks and three kids!

Thanks Scotty. I think I’m going to get my son a Highlander for his four year college run.
Hey Scotty, hats off to you man, this is exactly the video I needed now. You just saved my 4 hours of research time :)
Essentially the same recommendation as any car. Buy Honda + Toyota. Civic = CRV, RAV4 = Corolla, MDX = Pilot, Highlander = Camry.
Haters gonna hate, I love Honda.
Yeah! My 2007 crv still hums like new. As scotty says "Unless you drive like a maniac!"
my 2001 hrv purrs like a kitten, rides like summer dream
I was never a Honda guy but I am really liking the new 2019 CRV's.
I have a 2011 Honda Element and I’m hanging on to it as long as I can.
I’ve had Acura’s, Chrysler’s and Fords but all had one thing in common never one problem due to well maintained

My favorite is Toyota 4runner.
Intrnt Tough Guy hell yeah!!
Just bought an 01 4runner with 4wd and 134k miles!
And it's still made in Japan!
Very expensive even used but they are indestructible like a Tacoma
I had a 1996 4runner for 13 years, 205k miles on it. It was running great, could have gone another 100k at least. But it was totaled in a 5 car collision on the freeway. I was the middle car. Took the insurance money and went out and bought a brand new 4runner. Love these cars!
You FORGOT THE HONDA PILOT this 560,000 still running better then half of these cars out here
Great SUVs, same with the MDX. Only issue they had was the first two years of the first gen had weak transmissions. They've been practically bulletproof since though, and they have very high resale value.
John Ramirez, thank you.
He said with good gas mileage...
John Ramirez what year is your pilot?
@@mercedescardenas03c I had a 2003 Pilot that I traded in with 160K miles. in 2015 for a CRV. That's bec we both a 2008 MDX which I love and for 7 yrs, we had 7 seater SUVs. With Honda SUVs, you have to be diligent with transmission and rear differential fluid service. Honda's transmission is not as good as Toyota's.
My friend has a rav4 that's been been back n forth from Iowa to California 18 times and still running like a champ.
Japanese sell quality while ford sell for big profits. That is why Japanese card are dominating the market.
Yes
@coffeeinthemorning U R. Instead of people complaining about Japanese cars, beat 'em. Make better vehicles intead of using "guilt trip" advertising. My Nissan and Mazda both made it 200,000+ miles and I beat the hell out of those cars.
actually ford is cheaper than most the other American companies though
This is pretty much accurate, Only thing i have to disagree is the FWD over 4WD.
East Coast Me too, had a FWD Accord and it was good in snow but felt much more confident with an AWD. Just got a 2016 CR-V AWD couldn’t be happier
31k for a used vehicle seems idk outrageous!!!
I bought a 2016 CR-V, with only 24K miles on the tach, and I didn't regret it. Thank you for the advice.
Now the magical unicorn car I’m searching for is the 2016 Lexus RX 350L which DOES HAVE 3 rows 🎉
I love my Honda CRV with leather seats, best car I’ve ever had. It has amazing handling on the road.
Ford Escape is better
So true! I thought i was the only one that felt this way.scotty is alot of fun to listen to!

Scott my man, greetings from Phoenix.
I'd like to share with you this. I owned/own:
2004 Chevrolet Tahoe - 200,525mi (still own since purchased new) 5 star experience
2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee - sold at 74,800 mi - (purchased new) 2 star experience
2004 Honda civic - sold at 85,000 mi (purchased new) 4 star experience
2007 Toyota Camry - 85,000 MI (purchased new) still own - engine has a metallic rattle when I turn it on since 70k mi mark - 3.5 star experience
2010 Chevrolet Colorado - 120k mi (purchased used at 109k - still own) - solid truck - 4.5 star experience
2010 Honda Civic GX - 60k mi (purchased used at 36k MI - still own) - solid driver but exterior F/R bumpers keep falling apart - 4.5 star experience
2014 Nissan Altima - 74,000 mi (purchased new - still own) 3 star experience - feels like a piece of crap while driving.
2014 Honda CR-V - 60,000 mi (purchased new - still own) 5 star experience - still drives like new
2016 Honda CR-V - 25,000 mi (purchased new - still own) 5 star experience.
I definitely agree with you on my 2004 Tahoe with 363,000 miles still rolling and don't miss a beat! Like a Rock! 💯Heavy Chevy!
I love Scotty. It's always awesome watching his videos. Lots of knowledge, and very entertaining!! :D
