I make a very short leader so it doesn’t go through the guides, otherwise the guides will wear out the knot. I learned after throwing a $15 chatter bait when my leader knot broke. Now I just tie a two or three ft. leader of Fluorocarbon to my braid main line so it’s less visible to the Bass.
I do the same short leader for the same reason ‘ around half meter . But do we actually need leader when we use fake baits? I know the knot is strong but I don’t trust it plus the guides issue . I just need the leader because jigs and lures will catch the line then it will be different story So I prefer braid line without leaders .
How not to tie an Alberto. Need some spit on it. Properly tied and lubricated should cinch down very easy and nice and tight. Your wraps seemed super rando when there should be the same number in each direction forming a criss-cross pattern. I always leave short on tag on the braid so it can't possibly come undone and cut the mono/fluoro tag pretty much flush at a slight angle so it goes through the tip really smooth.
Is this knot good for surf casting? I tried this knot with a very long leader so when I would cast it would go through the guides. I ended losing 3 lures in one night and never tried again.
Never had any issues with the Alberto. Got to tie it right only need 6 or 7 wraps and should be the same number each direction forming a criss-cross pattern. Have to lube the knot with spit before cinching it down. And when cinching it down I first pull on all 4 lines lightly then pull a little harder on 3 lines both leader/leader tag and braid mainline then really pull hard on 2 lines the leader and mainline. Ive found that 4/3/2 method of cinching it down to work the best and keeps you from putting to much friction and heat into the mono/fluoro which can really weaken it. Also I leave a little a little tag on the braid which keeps the knot from ever possibly coming undone and I cut the mono/fluoro tag pretty much flush at a little angle so it goes through the guides really smooth. The little braid tag will get kind of fuzzy after some use but doesn't affect anything.

Sorry to hear that buddy. If the connection will run through guides still nothing beats fg knot specially surf casting with heavy sinker.

Don't forget lubrication, prevents it from burning when you try to tighten down the slack.

Ok yan idol
Thanks sir.. gawin mo nlng anong best para sa setup mo
Kinda sloppy bruh. Don't forget to wet the line when you're cinching it down. You'll get a tighter knot
Thanks for the tips buddy

Oo sir korek
That is an alberto knot
yes buddy.
i was like ?????
not sure whats modified here
The clickbait title.
Probably because the line didn’t criss cross between the in and out wraps rather it was layered back and forth
