Coach Ed, you may not know everything about everything but one thing is very clear to those of us attempting to apply your teachings - you clearly have a very deep understanding of the concepts and fundamentals of all aspects of the golf swing. You are a pleasure to listen to and learn from and your knowledge is deep and extensive yet neccesarily simple in application, straightforward, concise and clear. I've been subscribed for a while now and I can tell you, your instruction is greatly appreciated here in Midland, GA. Thank you, sir!

Ed this video is such important essential advice. It is essential you maintain posture & spine angle to consistently strike a golf ball purely & I believe the activation of your glutes & hips & there correct movement is the real key here. It is the real reason you stay in correct posture through the hitting area. Early extension happens because you do not move your lead hip correctly to begin the downswing to maintain this posture. It is also the real producer of power & speed in the golf swing. If you do not do it correctly your golf swing will be hands/arms driven & not a body turn driven swing which creates the real power & pure strike of the ball on a far easier & consistent basis.
I really do enjoy & appreciate your knowledge in all your videos which I find extraordinarily helpful.
    Thank you very much.

Your knowledge of golf is unmatched. Love the insight. I hit all my irons fine. My 4 iron is a weapon. My driver on the other hand is terrible. I have been told I early extend.

So glad I found your channel. Been playing golf since the 80's and I recently discovered Manuel De La Torre and Ernest Jones and the club focused swing. You seem to ascribe to those principles in your teaching approach

    My big miss is …
    Early Extension 🙄
My miss is a block HIGH RIGHT! 😡Argh!
I know it … and I know as soon as I do it. But fixing it is another issue.
And I’m the “World Worst Bunker Player”
so I’ll try anything … even the “Jim Furyk swing”
Looking forward to that video 👍🏻

My early extension is killing my ball contact right now so I've been working a lot on it. Problem is I can make a great practice swing, but put a ball at my feet and I just revert back to early extending.

Theres a number of youtube coaches / lessons that teaches how to turn with extension through the hips /legs… how to turn back hip around and up in back swing while front follows going down, then during downswing turning front hip towards the target while extending it up. ive already decided not to “actively” work on that ,at least not yet . Not until ive got a good and repeatable swing (off the tee especially)thats more straight and controllable….but i think if youre not getting questions about extension/early extension/etc etc now ,i imagine because of all these other lessons / teachers ,the questions will be coming … hehe

Sequence issues? (Too much hip turning too soon. But WHY?) I might add that staying “butt back” and staying bent over you would tend to not “early extend.” And too much turning (opening up) too soon is bad sequencing and so maybe that promotes “early extension?”

Don’t over analyze Patrick. I’m guilty of this too. We amateurs are always looking for some method that will be the magic method
