even if I never learn a thing off these videos, I love seeing amateur golfers happy after a swing thought/movement works. Best sport in the world.

I have had Erika’s book for a few months and I gotta say wow!!! Most golf instructors teach positions of the swing and she doesn’t. She teaches a much more fluid and flowing swing and it works! I am hitting the ball so much better and so much farther. I am mad that I didn’t sit down with her book sooner and start doing her drills!

I went to pick up some golf shoes and the kid at the place said try the sim 2 7 iron. I was hitting the turf before and getting about 150. I saw this video this morning. So I course correct and tried this technique.... That 7 iron went 195 straight!!! Its a golf improvement iron but DANNGGG. It sailed. And straight. This is a great lesson! Thanks!!!!

What a great video. I have the same issue as this gentleman hitting fat shots. Got a lesson with a pro in a couple of weeks, but I am going to try this tip at the range tomorrow and see what happens. This guy has had his game transformed with one lesson. Well done to both Erica and student !

love this., Erika has the knack of Keep It Simple Stupid. She uses simple instructions , not so much about the swing , but about how to REPEAT the swing. So many , so much money spent on lessons but once you are on the course, under pressure we come back to our old swing.

Love his last swing. Amazing transformation.
I am a big fan of dr kwons rope drill.
My strike has seen huge improvements using what you are teaching. One little thing I got from a Korean channel this year that gave me a 200 yard 5 iron was relaxing the shoulders at the top of the swing especially in transition. I found many years people would say relax the arms . I think if you relax the shoulder is key to keeping arms more relaxed and it relaxes the arms in transition. Honestly my preshot routine standing over the ball is one thought relax the shoulders.
    Loved your monkey demo!

Good stuff and appreciate you sharing this globally. I"m a "hit behind the ball iron player", so very keen to learn from this method.
I just went out back and tried all this. Gave me the realisation that I was moving backwards with my upper body and not rotating only. The 'good' sensation was the body starts to rotate backwards and the arms even lag the body on the backswing, much like the rope. So the pronounced body rotation drags the arms backwards. At the top of the swing I had to be mindful to get the weight moving to my left foot before the arms were dragged down by the body rotating back to centre. I noticed the contact patch with the ground (7iron) was now left or forward of the ball location. I'd like more "pause" at the top of the swing, still feels a bit rushed, however over all the key thing for me to notice was, when looking at the ball, IF my head travelled backwards (bad) vs my head stayed still and my body rotated to pull the arms backwards. Havent hit a ball yet, want to let this practice swing settle a few days first. I still noticed I have a tendency to stand up on the backswing so the club airswings at the strike zone, that anxiety will cause me to try and control the swing rather than keep my head still at the same height above the ball.

Sam Snead said you have to use your hands. He won 82 times on the PGA Tour and 142 times as a Pro. I like Sams idea of using your hands, because you can’t release the club head without using your hands.

I don’t think the gentleman in this video is ready for any majors just yet. He’s in a spot where he’s lost and this is like step one to help him.
Sam didn’t use only his hands for sure. He and most all great golfers have it all working together. I do believe that some people think more about certain aspects of their swing than others. I know myself if I get stiff and can’t move sometimes that my hands do 80 percent of the work to generate the loss of speed from not being able to move my body good.
Also. This is in the fairway. If I get in the rough I have to use my hands to generate the extra speed required to get the ball out.
I do think she did a good job of helping his mental state and that is a great thing.

I am very fascinated to see this video of yours. Resonates with me as my instructor also has been teaching on the same lines for last 20 years. Shawn Clement at Royal Quebec Golf Club. Give up control to get control. I would like your take on the " swing thought" when playing a shot. Hitting the ball could certainly NOT be one. Also I find starting the back swing or heaving the club with legs a little difficult and that is when inconsistency starts.

True swing only happen if you are left arm dominant and right arm wrist coming along. Right arm has to be very passive until few second before impact. Main goal of right palm is absorb the the hit and dont twist the club face.
unfrotunately amateur and hackers have weak left arm

Back in the late seventies I was hitting the ball four hundred yards plus long an strait and people couldn’t get over what I was doing I wanted to try the tour but I had some family problems that kept me from doing it. I forgot to say please quit trying to hit the ball with your arms you can’t control it all you got to do is watch the tour and you can see what I am saying

The guy is too stiff and the tension is causing the fat shots, but having said that; nothing will change on the course. This guy has been there countless times and will always revert back to the norm. It's the realization; then you must reprogram the memory trace surrounding the physical stroke. Here's the problem; and that is eradicating the memory, the lesson does nothing for the innate problem. Hitting consecutive decent shots means less than nothing.

    • @peterhammer4644
      @peterhammer4644 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

you are totally wrong. If this golfer trained this routine he slowly is going to understand it and his body is going to understand that that is the norm, he is going to play miles better. With your theory no golfer will ever get better, which is nonsense.
