On the Fully Charged show -- 2018 Model S owner has 707-000km who has used and abused their car far beyond what many believe an EV is capable of enduring. Had his original battery replaced at 666-666km that`s roughly half a million miles....

@@kylereese4822 I think I saw that video…the car had the battery replaced at 250K miles under warranty….at the time of the video the car itself travelled over 400k.
The driver admitted the car had lost some range already around 40 miles of its 240mile capacity. You can bet after 400k, a Toyota ICE engine would have the same range as it did when it was new.

Hmm, Cybertruck is still a new truck. No improvements will ever be made from gen1 to future generations? Your comment is with so much bias. 381,000 Tacoma 2022 and 2023 Tacoma truck is on recalled, should I call that 500k mile a lie or could it be that there are faults in all trucks and it will be fine in the long run?
@@nguyep4 EVs are great for short range travel for sure. The tech is cutting edge….
and has supercar Acceleration….which this truck has. But the long term aspects of EVs are a bummer because the battery tech is not as robust and heavy duty as a ICE engine. As the battery increases in age it’s loses its range capacity…where as an ICE engine can maintain its maximum for decades. The Cybertruck is cool…if it fits your life style…but don’t expect to last or be maintained as long term as a good ICE car. You can compare it to a IPad. As soon as the battery fails to maintain its best recharging performance…it won’t give you the same usage as the year before unless you replace the battery completely. It’s literally throw away tech…
As for 500k life of a car….I have owned a number of Hondas that have lasted at 500k or closer…and after decades of heavy usage.
what are you talking about? I have a 2017 model X with 217k+ miles. Original battery. Original motors. Original brakes. My buddy has a 2018 model 3 with 369k miles. Same battery motors and brakes. It’s obvious you never driven one. The battery is able to be charged 2500 times on the low end, multiplied by 185 miles real world driving (epa is 257 miles) is = to 462k miles. That’s figured with battery degradation and 7 yrs ownership and I’ve charged it over 2500 times so far (7 yrs X 365 days, charging once a day)
Model 3 is same charge cycles 2500 X 290 miles is 725K miles. Reality , your welcome.
@@USMC6169 Was talking about the range capacity of the EVs after years of recharging.
With the best care of the main battery, it still loses at best 1% of its function to work after 1 year.
At 10 years a Tesla battery will or should be at 90% of its life for driving. Which means a Tesla maximum range won’t be the same as new. A ICE car at 10 years will still achieve the same distance as it did when bought new...regardless, with the same care and maintenance.

@@easyalpha1I’m old and have driven for decades. My Honda civic had 185k miles on it and had to buy one of those Japanese pre-used engine for $580 installed (yrs ago) for worn rings (cheaper to replace complete eng). It lost mpg.
My Toyota Prius (don’t judge, I know) got 50 mpg new. 5 yrs later with ~160K miles, it only got 42 mpg. I take good care of my cars but drive a lot so I know lots of miles wear out and engine…and it effectively lowers its range too. Not sure what kind of vehicle you have but that’s pretty unbelievable that there’s no wear and tear on parts after yrs of use.
