@@lOjOc1 Basically, don't ever unbox or do contracts, they're proven as a fact to be unprofitable. Buy keys from Marketplace.tf and better consider trading with around 8 keys to buy a cheap unusual as a quicksell on backkpack.tf or elsewhere. Look into making profit, checking the prices of the items offered in backpack.tf. And when offered lower than your price, ask to add more in metal or overpay in unusuals. I did a mistake when trading schadenfreude for the banjo taunt when the difference is .25 keys. I was basically scared for some reason, now I regret this.
trading hot tip (doesn't help sell hats, its more of a security measure against hackers): cash out at least once or twice a month and take it out as actual cash. that way, the hackers can't steal the keys if you have no keys to steal from your account.
Damn Virtual, I remember those times, but yet, I still enjoy TF2, and for some traders, we come back, after buying a sick amount of games that we cash out from tf2, and remember how it's still fun to play. Some come back to play as the normal hat wearing [any class here] player. Really Good video.
Mine N Adventurer _The Aegis Boy_ By trading you lose a fuck ton of time you can't get back while when you lose money you can just go to work abd make some more.....Buy 1 or 2 cheaper unusuals and be happy xD

Tour of duty tickets aren’t a ripoff... Edit: I actually was smart when I added $5 to my account to buy keys, because I had watched a video telling what I should buy from the Mann Co Store, anyways, nice video.
I personally landed at a different stage 10 from lazy -> collector, spending real money even if I profit off of a few trades I make here and there the lazy way, I spend said profit on items I want for my collection, if not just buying keys for said items I want.
You know, in retrospect I wish not adding something about becoming a collector in the video. Because alot of people end up doing what you just described.
For me, I made it to stage 6. I managed traded my way up to 18 keys and bought a strange unusual tf logo battle bonnie. I was going to trade out that unusual and try to get up to more high tier unusuals, but i got so attached to it, I just decided I was done unusual trading.
TheVirtualEconomist Yeah, and honestly, I got really lucky with in getting that hat. The guy who was selling it, sold it for the same value as a normal tf logo battle bonnie!
What happened for me is I had no realization with trading, and had a pretty negative connotation upon it, then I (extremely luckily) unboxed a one in 12 unusual hat, then thought that I could probably sell it ( it was for heavy and I rarely play him) and buy something I actually wanted
I am the TF2 middle class, I have enough hats to get pass every day and I also sometimes have a little extra to change my wardrobe when I feel like it. I'm happy where I am. God Bless Capitalism.
Me: *searching on youtube a great unusual effects* Also me: *check community market and the price is 150$* Also me again: *press buy and regrets* And again: *donate unused unusual to youtuber* CYCLE
don’t buy or sell on the steam community marjet because a) Steam gets a share of the money and b) it’s cheaper on places like marketplace.tf, bazaar.tf, etc

Step 11.) Your account is used by an idiot friend and they either use your kits on bad weapons and delete your unusuals.
11.5) You stake your backpack with Heavy Boxing
This vid was 100% accurate im not sure about the later stages as i got scammed at 21 keys but everything else was spot on especially when he said "you will rewatch trading series" i have rewatched all of them like 5 times over lol
:)
TheVirtualEconomist I just buy unusuals with money. 180$ BP. Evryone is a bot, or an scammer.
Mediocre Max Never bothered with those trade videos. Just hanging out in trade servers, scanning Tf2outpost and bp.tf seemed like the way to go. Took me a year to go from a nuts and bolts hermes to a burning crones dome (back when those were worth around 6k$ ).
I lost all my hats and taunts because my brother took my account and went on a trading server and traded all my stuff for nothing (BTW my brother is older so he did it on purpose)
Man, these TF2 traders are like that one crazy guy from your neighborhood who in order to make some roast chicken for dinner, would steal an egg from his neighbor's fridge and hatch it instead of going to the shop and buying some fresh meat.
3:07 *Truth hurts*
U explained my 3 years of trading in this vid XD. Exept stage 10, im currently on my set loadouts and i already cashed out unusuals i didnt use in my loadouts.
I meet a Guy who was doing the Raggs to Riches. I gave him my 2022 & 2023 Winter cases, as well as my Summer 2023 & 2024 cases. Along with warpaint cases. He offered me metal, and I decided that I wasn't going to pay money for keys, and so I sold those cases. They were just rotting in my Backpack with no purpose.
4 years of trading for myself.
I had finally gotten a good unusual and retired.
4 Y E A R S
I traded for about a year. I started when I got a green flames demo afro. I worked up to about a 300 key backpack then just sold everything expect nostalgia hats and bought some friends games for Christmas
12:30 PFFFFFTTT who needs a life when i can just spend 20 hours a day trading :P
Unlike anyone with 2 brain cells they don't buy keys
Me:buys 3 keys
Also me
UNBOX EVERYTHING
@@0bashie I played TF2 since 2011 and made terrible mistakes like transform weapons I had in double in scraps, to craft token to try to gain weapons like the Huo-long heater... I discovered trading in 2015 and was like "OK I'm dumb. But afterall, I don't need unusual to play that game so I won't be trading !" but now... I want to start trading but I don't know where to begin... Is unboxing bad ? How can I get keys for that ? What should I sell and for what ? I don't want to make mistakes as I did before...
I got to stage 7 and cashed out. Trading is such a weird and wonderful thing.
Same
I never got past stage 1. I'd just rather buy the items and actually play the game.
Weapon skins seem like the new trading meta.
Same. Games aren’t supposed to be stressful >:(
I'd rather be an invite player rather than have one of the top bps in terms of value tbh
If u do it right u can make tons of profit and buy lots of aussies or unusuals
trading hot tip (doesn't help sell hats, its more of a security measure against hackers):
cash out at least once or twice a month and take it out as actual cash. that way, the hackers can't steal the keys if you have no keys to steal from your account.
This really did describe my tf2 experience
:)
6:20 Congratulations! You kill friendlies.
Congratulations! You are a fucking idiot
Congratulations! You don't know how to play the game.
@@pondabyss Congratulations! You think there's a "wrong" way to play the game!
@@theinternetpolice2078 i meant he didn't know how to play the game ... killing friendlies is nice
@@pondabyss congratulations! You're an arse
Im at the stage where i just realized that you can get just around any unique quality cosmetic for less than 40 cents on backpack tf
This is literally me, went through all the stages
Always fear Gibuses ,you never know what they are capable of(or not capable of)

There's 2 types of gibus, new players and God tiers pretending to be new players
With current standards of trading and the economy, it took me nearly 2 years to get from absolutely nothing to an unusual.
I never understand why people dislike your vids. There so good!
some have come from my channel accusing him of copying which, is partially true but I granted him permission. Sorry about that.
Frag-A-Lot Because some of his videos which are more-community directed or.... category-wise. And people feel this is kind of directed to them.
Damn Virtual, I remember those times, but yet, I still enjoy TF2, and for some traders, we come back, after buying a sick amount of games that we cash out from tf2, and remember how it's still fun to play. Some come back to play as the normal hat wearing [any class here] player.
Really Good video.
Glad you enjoyed :)
I enjoyed a lot, thx
6:12 Cmon, they are just hanging around!
How to get unusuals without going through the trade game:
1. Buy the unusual hat on the steam community market
How to lose money by buying unusuals
1) Buy the unusual hat on the steam community market
Mine N Adventurer _The Aegis Boy_ By trading you lose a fuck ton of time you can't get back while when you lose money you can just go to work abd make some more.....Buy 1 or 2 cheaper unusuals and be happy xD
Marketplace.tf
Considering all the money you could make working even a simple job rather than grinding on trade servers even paying too much would probably be a better deal for most.
I would be very happy if I even got a cheap unusual, therefore I agree with your strategy
Me when I first saw an unusual : OMG who is that godlike figure I will never be like him or get an unusual
Me now after get an unusual : This things suck
Yeah
26-7
Steam: Mmm you want an unusual.. Sure
Steam:You get an unusual and you get an unusual !!
Steam: EVERYONE GETS AN UNUSUAL
>looks right at me and says "somehow these traders wind up with a god tier call class unusual they cant sell."
lol
I remember getting scammed off my Genuine Officer’s Ushanka for some strange Santa hat I couldn’t even find and to this day I don’t know what I was thinking.
5 years later, "keys are worth up to 35 refined" pain, suffering even
Why dont you do a trading guide for 2019?
Because trading is literally on fire.

Tour of duty tickets aren’t a ripoff...
Edit: I actually was smart when I added $5 to my account to buy keys, because I had watched a video telling what I should buy from the Mann Co Store, anyways, nice video.
Switch Stop Fan! Me too
I personally landed at a different stage 10 from lazy -> collector, spending real money even if I profit off of a few trades I make here and there the lazy way, I spend said profit on items I want for my collection, if not just buying keys for said items I want.
And this is literally what I aim for aswell. Getting a collection of nice unusual hats and be known with them (kind of like Signature stuff)
I've gone down the weapon path since they added them in gun mettle I've got quite an exquisite collection of rare and even quite some 1 of 1's
You know, in retrospect I wish not adding something about becoming a collector in the video. Because alot of people end up doing what you just described.
Well you can make trade when you have premium And you get a rare item drop that IS FUCKING MORE VALUABLE THAN MY HAT WHAT?!?
For me, I made it to stage 6. I managed traded my way up to 18 keys and bought a strange unusual tf logo battle bonnie. I was going to trade out that unusual and try to get up to more high tier unusuals, but i got so attached to it, I just decided I was done unusual trading.
hey, I can't blame you for wanting to keep a nice unusual :p
TheVirtualEconomist Yeah, and honestly, I got really lucky with in getting that hat. The guy who was selling it, sold it for the same value as a normal tf logo battle bonnie!
"Konosuba music"
I see that you are a man of culture as well.
Talk to Hamaji I just copied his music lol
TheVirtualEconomist I see that Hamaji is definitely a man of culture as well
I CAN'T FIND THIS SONG! I NEED TO GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!
Moon Man song's in the description
ah, i see there are another man of culture in this video uploading/watching website
What happened for me is I had no realization with trading, and had a pretty negative connotation upon it, then I (extremely luckily) unboxed a one in 12 unusual hat, then thought that I could probably sell it ( it was for heavy and I rarely play him) and buy something I actually wanted
Great video dude
Glad you enjoyed!
I am the TF2 middle class, I have enough hats to get pass every day and I also sometimes have a little extra to change my wardrobe when I feel like it. I'm happy where I am. God Bless Capitalism.
My first Mannco purchase was a map stamp and a summer crate key. i got a cool spy cosmetic and that shiny pirate hat.
the ending was more depressing than Requiem for a Dream.
Me: *searching on youtube a great unusual effects*
Also me: *check community market and the price is 150$*
Also me again: *press buy and regrets*
And again: *donate unused unusual to youtuber*
CYCLE
don’t buy or sell on the steam community marjet because a) Steam gets a share of the money and b) it’s cheaper on places like marketplace.tf, bazaar.tf, etc
It’s actually interesting that tf2 has its own economy and trading
So Virtual what are you?
Stage 9 I'd say. I'm pretty lazy rn lol
TheVirtualEconomist im basically stage 1 but with premiums
Wow you have improved last time it was 3 months but this time it was 2 months
But seriously though nice video

My stages:
Stage 1 - Look up prices for everything
Stage 2 - Buy expensive items
Stage 3 - Sell for double the money
Stage 4 - *stonks*
Step 1) Go on TF2 Marketplace
Step 2) buy every weapon for super low prices
Step 3) there is no Step 3!

When you mentioned rip off people.. I thought of a video idea. That's if you want. Stages of a Scammer?
Updated step: Go to the market during the stock crash and buy whatever you want for like 4 bucks
What unusual all class miscs were affected?
Crispy_Jimmy dude the Crate Depression is long gone, prices are back to normal now
Hell when I made that comment prices were returning to mromal
@@Ieu6054 also none of the all class miscs were effected because of how rare they are and how valuable they are even in the face of a market crash

Step 2: Sell keys for weapons
Step 3: Sell your whole inventory for weapons
