I just so happen to have it even though I really didn't play TF2 a lot until a couple years back just because as a kid my brother got me to play TF2 with him once and I was an addict when it came to free to play steam games. So i played both games (dont even remember which game gave you the knife) and when I logged back in I realized I had it. Idk how rare it is and its untradeable, but just the feeling of owning an item that is no longer obtainable or at least very hard to obtain through underhanded means is so cool to me. I dont even play Spy either. It's something, like my medal, that has been in my backpack since the beginning.

I also deleted my Mercenary Badge as a F2P to make room for all those 'cool new item drops.' that and my Gibus, Seal mask, and ALMOST my Vintage Pyro goggles. I was f2p for 2 years and I have destroyed mine gibus and pyro goggles, so when I bought premium, message the support staff and they added me a new one :) Thanks Valve
i just wanna say i love the effort you put in this video. the editing and the subtitles are are all wonderfully done. you have gained a sub. and also you gave me some advice on why i shouldnt delete my stuff, i am a new player haha
I remember in 2013 i was a f2p and I deleted some unique achievement items some halloween related, one of them being the HHH head. I regreted it so much I created a brand new account and bought backpack expanders and farmed achievement items with my friend on some empty maps.
I did the exact same thing with it and my gibus. I wrote to steam one day many years later and they actually gave it to me saying that they dont usually do it but they were going to make an exception and felt special. Maybe it has to do with how much money you have spend or maybe the time playing the gsme (i started right after tf2 became f2p) or maybe just the person reading the steam support requests. I would say you should keep trying
*After he said “and that's just something that can't be deleted” I expected him to say “oh wait” and then Everywhere At The End Of Time begins playing.*
I've since regreted in deleting my mercenary badge, but I'm glad to know that my Steam Badge "Years of Service" also mean the day I first started playing TF2!
For me, that badge would be my first (and only) australium - i got it on my very first MvM tour - it was a knife for Spy. i sold it on the steam market, and used the money to buy GTA5 which was on sale at that time. but about 2 years later i realized that i actually sold it for much less than it was worth, nowadays i'd either kept it, or sold it for keys. im still very pissed about it, and remember it everytime i play mvm i was a pretty new player back then, i didnt *really* know about trading yet, i just sold it on the steam market ...
This is so relatable, I remember I deleted my mercenary badge cause at the time I was a F2P and I needed to make space in my inventory for some item drop. Even though I joined in late 2021 I still made so many memories with TF2 even till now, but I look back everyday and still regret deleting that thing
*7:08**: You should have written in the 2010s because at that time, Steam support overvalued all players. Why are the stupid steam supporters ignoring them now? MONEY*
i have sufered even worse, 5 years ago... i was a newbie and with no backpack space i deleted my badge, my gibus, my pyrogoogles, and any existent free cosmetic i had, they didnt meant too much in those times, now everytime i see a paint bucket i just want to use it on my gibus, but well, it isnt anymore with me so...
*that true.... now these days so rare man. Here's what I'm saying, you wouldn't miss anything if you started when the game came out. Senior player's advice, or you'll regret it.*
the saddest fact that you can follow back the interactions in your inventory like a craft, trade or delete. I just saw what I sold, trade for, and craft, I started crying.
My most prized possession in TF2 is a field tested (I think) civic duty strange kill streak panic attack with a description edit. It’s basically the dictionary example of “there are many like it but this one is mine”
2:17 I also got a scam message exactly like that in 2019 on a horrible day. Lost over 180 dollars worth of items and steam support didn't give anything back to me even though they do it to others. I lost many valuable items like my first taunt, the square dance that I got from a giveaway from a twitch streamer who's a great friend of mine but the scammer did leave my unique quality weapons behind, that included my ham shank I got from that friend. I still have that ham and use it. Somehow the steam market trade hold saved two of my stranges, at the time knowing that I still had something was great because the day I lost all my items was and still is the worst and most stressful day of my life. Btw, I didn't delete any of my items like the badge, but the game deleted my achievement item force a nature for no reason and steam support didn't give it back even though it's a UNTRADABLE item that has no value :( I've tried to get my stolen items back but I've only been able to get one cosmetic back out of like 30. Most of them have been wiped off of backpack,tf so I can't even find their current owners.
this is the first video i've seen by this guy, and my first time acknowledging that this guy exists, and i love how he speaks in riddles (kind of). "dookamahickies" "shebang"
"there has to be at least one item that means the world to you" The spy stock revolver reskin thats named "Hello N(eighbor)" i bought off the steam market:
GOD bless the fact TF2 gives you those backpack extenders on Smissmas, i feel as though a _lot_ of my favorite items would just never have been or would have been wiped instead. Speaking of a few sentimental items i have... - Spiral Sallet. It just looks so _cool_ and i wish it was colorable. Also it's something other than the gibus. - Smissmas Sweater Panic Attack. I swear i genuinely cannot look at a normal Panic Attack without it looking wrong. - Indubitably Green Gibus. And, FINALLY... - The Director's Vision Taunt. It's literally the only F2P taunt possible and i hold it dear to my heart along with all the other items. (There's also a few others, but these are the most relevant to me.)
I remember accidentally deleting my Headless Horseman's headwear when i was younger. That silly mistake still makes me sad to this day, because it was part of my childhood and favorite in-game boss.
@@angiovanni7356 I regret it so much, man! Especially since I also know the historical significance of the Brodie helmet. I just thought it was a random ugly hat.

Good warning about the merc badge. I always thought it was one of those things you couldnt really delete, that you would get a new one every time you opened up tf2. I used my pyro vision goggles as a transmute my very first Scream fortress. I also use the free drop birthday Party Hat every year in a transmute. Luckily you do get a new party hat every year:)
@@mariustan9275 If you dont have one already and you log in during the birthday event you will get a new birthday hat every year. I have gotten it 8 times so far in my tf2 career.
A saving grace I personally can fall back on is the fact that Steam will keep track of your account's purchase history, all the way back to its' first purchase. Somehow or another, as a kid I'd managed to coerce my mother in getting me some unlocks off the Mann Co. Store (obviously stupid in hindsight). To this day I still use my first purchase as a metric for figuring out when I started playing, sure it's not as accurate as the badge itself, there's a 16 day gap between the date on my Steam's "Years of Service" badge compared to my first purchase, but at least it accounts for something.
Twice i gave away all my items when I thought I'd stop playing for good. Once in 2012 and in 2014. All those items are now classic vintage hats. Regret And all those cool legacy items like the gibus and the ww2 helmet I combined to make a new hat.
this video hit close to home because when the Halloween 2015 update came out with the soul gargoyle trading for Halloween hats and I traded my gibus and all the halloween hats for shitty locked halloween hats and every halloween i get a reminder of a tf2 sin a committed
I totally relate to this. I thought I had mine up until watching this very video. I was like "dang that does suck, but I have mine thankfully", then I go to look at it and I don't have it. I have a Dueling Badge. I also know I've gotten rid of a lot of my other untradeable items as well. I have around $400 in items in that I have vowed to never get rid of for any circumstance, but not having my untradeable items almost feels like a bigger loss.
Bro, this happened to me twice. The first one being like yours, and the second was that steam thought I stole items, but both accounts had awesome shit. So trust me when I say, I understand.

2:44 this was a war crime
I luckily still have the mercenary badge, but my gibus wasn't as lucky :(
same :(
0:10 "or a new player deciding what item to sacrifice to keep their newly found Boston Basher,"
too relatable bro 😔
I like how he’s wearing the gibus and pyrovison goggles
I was f2p for 2 years and I have destroyed mine gibus and pyro goggles, so when I bought premium, message the support staff and they added me a new one :) Thanks Valve
Backstory for your class loadout is realy needed. I love to give any meaning to my loadout without conficting with tf2 lore
i deleted my gibus :crying :
@@hellnaw7812
Yeah I get that to and I can't be back so I sad
I like the video BUT IT MADE ME SO FUCKIN HAPPY SEEN THE SHELLNUT TF2 DRAWINGS!!!!!
Haha :D
I've used a shellnut hud off game bannana for a while now cos those drawings are just pure tf2 for me
i just wanna say i love the effort you put in this video. the editing and the subtitles are are all wonderfully done. you have gained a sub.
and also you gave me some advice on why i shouldnt delete my stuff, i am a new player haha
For me, that badge would be my first (and only) australium - i got it on my very first MvM tour - it was a knife for Spy.
i sold it on the steam market, and used the money to buy GTA5 which was on sale at that time.
but about 2 years later i realized that i actually sold it for much less than it was worth, nowadays i'd either kept it, or sold it for keys. im still very pissed about it, and remember it everytime i play mvm
i was a pretty new player back then, i didnt *really* know about trading yet, i just sold it on the steam market ...
anyone know or can link the mod for the drawn on class icon things at 0:05 pls? thanks
i didnt find it but the closest thing is "bub pack" on gamebanana
@@0pt0utYT bro might be still waiting
I deleted my Gibus thinking it was lame and I won't need it, I regret it daily
I love my mercenary badge so much. Wear it proudly on all of my classes
This is so relatable, I remember I deleted my mercenary badge cause at the time I was a F2P and I needed to make space in my inventory for some item drop. Even though I joined in late 2021 I still made so many memories with TF2 even till now, but I look back everyday and still regret deleting that thing
My second ever hat drop was a Towering Pillar of Hats. I traded it for a Direct Hit I scrapped like a week later.
Very great video, and GREAT subtitles to go along with it! Seriously its been really long since i've seen such high quality ones :]❤
Luckily for me, I was given a replacement version of my achievement items back. As soon as they gave me my gibus back I strangified it.
*that true.... now these days so rare man. Here's what I'm saying, you wouldn't miss anything if you started when the game came out. Senior player's advice, or you'll regret it.*
Maybe the real mercenary badge was the friends we made along the way
the saddest fact that you can follow back the interactions in your inventory like a craft, trade or delete. I just saw what I sold, trade for, and craft, I started crying.
i'll trade you 5 achievements for my mercanary badge
This is my engi Loadout with out me is nothing me with out my engi Loadout makes me a sitting duck for more backstabs and headshots
My most prized possession in TF2 is a field tested (I think) civic duty strange kill streak panic attack with a description edit. It’s basically the dictionary example of “there are many like it but this one is mine”
Even though you were late to the party, you were still the life of it
What map is he playing at 5:12 please tell me i remember playing it back in 2014 in a local server .
dm_duel, its a childhood map for me as well :)
Thank you so much
STOP THE "MAKING BACKSTORIES FOR MY SETS" THING IS ACTUALLY SO CUTEEE ☹️☹️☹️
Can someone please help me to figure out what's the map on 5:00 called? I've been looking for it for ages now
dm_duel!
Rip my gibus and merc badge
my dumbass unboxed a unusual on my first crate and then turned it into a Halloween cosmetic with my provision googles :)
"Ugh, i hate having a 50 slot only backpack, id rather have weapons instead of this tophat"
"I can get more space eventually?"
I feel like losing your entire tf2 backpack is a canon event for every player
“Me looking at my Gibus in my inventory”
I knew keeping you was a good idea!
The items don't matter, it's the memories that matter
Btw, I didn't delete any of my items like the badge, but the game deleted my achievement item force a nature for no reason and steam support didn't give it back even though it's a UNTRADABLE item that has no value :(
I've tried to get my stolen items back but I've only been able to get one cosmetic back out of like 30. Most of them have been wiped off of backpack,tf so I can't even find their current owners.
deleted haunted metal scrap, one of the achievement map top hats, and mann co cap. i do not know why.
this is the first video i've seen by this guy, and my first time acknowledging that this guy exists, and i love how he speaks in riddles (kind of).
(There's also a few others, but these are the most relevant to me.)
maybe the true mercenary badge was the friends we made along the way...
Traded my gibus away years ago, but recently managed to track it down and get it back after all those years, is nice
I remember accidentally deleting my Headless Horseman's headwear when i was younger. That silly mistake still makes me sad to this day, because it was part of my childhood and favorite in-game boss.
There is nothing I regret more in TF2 than using my Proof of Purchase in a Halloween transmute before understanding its significance.
You what?
Did I read this right
my condolences man rip that proof of purchase
@@angiovanni7356 I regret it so much, man! Especially since I also know the historical significance of the Brodie helmet. I just thought it was a random ugly hat.
As someone who has to deal with a similar experience, it makes me wish we could just make the W+M1 pyros real along with Miss Pauling so we could have them melt the people who think it is funny to swipe items and accounts
Hey just saw you from brad man just want to say, I love this kind of content you do and the editing style is so good that it made me question my ability to edit💀, anyways keep it up and your pfp is funny
Wait you get a birthday hat every year?
@@mariustan9275 If you dont have one already and you log in during the birthday event you will get a new birthday hat every year. I have gotten it 8 times so far in my tf2 career.
I scraped my gimbus....
Worst mistake of my life
Lost many things to a hackusation, the most sentimental being an unusual large luchadore
To this day I still use my first purchase as a metric for figuring out when I started playing, sure it's not as accurate as the badge itself, there's a 16 day gap between the date on my Steam's "Years of Service" badge compared to my first purchase, but at least it accounts for something.
me, being stupidly stupid, transmuted my gibus into the engineer's mask...
i actually swear to god, in all like 7 years of youtube watching hes the first relatable ytber ive ever watched
I did this with the Gibus hat.... i cant even pretend to be a free to play anymore...
I’m pretty sure one can buy a Gibus hat from external sites.
Twice i gave away all my items when I thought I'd stop playing for good. Once in 2012 and in 2014. All those items are now classic vintage hats. Regret
And all those cool legacy items like the gibus and the ww2 helmet I combined to make a new hat.
this video hit close to home because when the Halloween 2015 update came out with the soul gargoyle trading for Halloween hats and I traded my gibus and all the halloween hats for shitty locked halloween hats
and every halloween i get a reminder of a tf2 sin a committed
A salute for my mercenary badge. On haloween, i transmuted it & got a haunted beep man
