I obliged, and he sent me a Gas Passer, at the time I thought it was such a good idea, and now I can't even hunt the user down because upon learning how bad the item was I used it to craft a pyro token and made the Rainblower lmao

One way you could do it is to find your earliest achievement and go by that. For me, it was the achievement you get for completing the "tutorial," which I unlocked December 5th of 2014.
I deleted mine about a few months into playing, but I managed to find it in my inventory history with all the stats. Check your inventory history for it! mine says I started playing in 2015

I didn’t play for a while after that, and now I basically just play singleplayer with Bot Overhaul installed because even if they aren’t very nice at least they don’t hack in the casual lobby for fun.

I own several unusuals now and the main items I love to collect are spelled items since I had about 3 or 4 back in the day younger me traded off for practically nothing. I also deleted my Mercenary Badge as a F2P to make room for all those 'cool new item drops.' that and my Gibus, Seal mask, and ALMOST my Vintage Pyro goggles. I believe people who have deleted there badge are in the same group of people who have gone through a lobotomy, they seem to be missing something. Valve really needs to add that deleted item ticket into the game.
Can relate to this. I deleted my badge and gibus hat around 2015 due to not having inventory space. Thankfully steam support has allowed me to get my gibus hat again but the mercenary badge was gone forever.
My most treasured item in my backpack is The Black Rose knife. I just so happen to have it even though I really didn't play TF2 a lot until a couple years back just because as a kid my brother got me to play TF2 with him once and I was an addict when it came to free to play steam games. So i played both games (dont even remember which game gave you the knife) and when I logged back in I realized I had it. Idk how rare it is and its untradeable, but just the feeling of owning an item that is no longer obtainable or at least very hard to obtain through underhanded means is so cool to me. I dont even play Spy either. It's something, like my medal, that has been in my backpack since the beginning.
When I started playing TF2 back in 2013, I originally did delete my Gibus as backpack space was limited, however, I reached out to valve and simply asked for its return, and up until 2015 I believe they did this, they happily returned it to me with a “thank you” for playing our game message all with it, I only regret not asking for my monoculous and horseless headless horseman’s head back at the same time, but I’m glad the Gibus is back in my inv

I feel you man. I’m a f2p and I accidentally deleted my haunted metal without knowing what it did because I was new to the game at that point 😐 Now my Demoman may never have his horseless headless horsemann’s headtaker
I was f2p for 2 years and I have destroyed mine gibus and pyro goggles, so when I bought premium, message the support staff and they added me a new one :) Thanks Valve
I actually had the proof of purchase and i had the soldier of fortune badge. Unfortunately i lost the email to my account and had to use a new account. Cool video man.
For what it's worth, if you purchase the Orange Box on your new account, it'll give you the Proof of Purchase. I'm pretty sure the SoF is gone forever though.
For me, that badge would be my first (and only) australium - i got it on my very first MvM tour - it was a knife for Spy. i sold it on the steam market, and used the money to buy GTA5 which was on sale at that time. but about 2 years later i realized that i actually sold it for much less than it was worth, nowadays i'd either kept it, or sold it for keys. im still very pissed about it, and remember it everytime i play mvm i was a pretty new player back then, i didnt *really* know about trading yet, i just sold it on the steam market ...
i have sufered even worse, 5 years ago... i was a newbie and with no backpack space i deleted my badge, my gibus, my pyrogoogles, and any existent free cosmetic i had, they didnt meant too much in those times, now everytime i see a paint bucket i just want to use it on my gibus, but well, it isnt anymore with me so...
I've since regreted in deleting my mercenary badge, but I'm glad to know that my Steam Badge "Years of Service" also mean the day I first started playing TF2!
This is so relatable, I remember I deleted my mercenary badge cause at the time I was a F2P and I needed to make space in my inventory for some item drop. Even though I joined in late 2021 I still made so many memories with TF2 even till now, but I look back everyday and still regret deleting that thing
*After he said “and that's just something that can't be deleted” I expected him to say “oh wait” and then Everywhere At The End Of Time begins playing.*
i just wanna say i love the effort you put in this video. the editing and the subtitles are are all wonderfully done. you have gained a sub. and also you gave me some advice on why i shouldnt delete my stuff, i am a new player haha
I did the exact same thing with it and my gibus. I wrote to steam one day many years later and they actually gave it to me saying that they dont usually do it but they were going to make an exception and felt special. Maybe it has to do with how much money you have spend or maybe the time playing the gsme (i started right after tf2 became f2p) or maybe just the person reading the steam support requests. I would say you should keep trying
*that true.... now these days so rare man. Here's what I'm saying, you wouldn't miss anything if you started when the game came out. Senior player's advice, or you'll regret it.*
My most prized possession in TF2 is a field tested (I think) civic duty strange kill streak panic attack with a description edit. It’s basically the dictionary example of “there are many like it but this one is mine”
As someone who has to deal with a similar experience, it makes me wish we could just make the W+M1 pyros real along with Miss Pauling so we could have them melt the people who think it is funny to swipe items and accounts
*7:08**: You should have written in the 2010s because at that time, Steam support overvalued all players. Why are the stupid steam supporters ignoring them now? MONEY*
the saddest fact that you can follow back the interactions in your inventory like a craft, trade or delete. I just saw what I sold, trade for, and craft, I started crying.
2:17 I also got a scam message exactly like that in 2019 on a horrible day. Lost over 180 dollars worth of items and steam support didn't give anything back to me even though they do it to others. I lost many valuable items like my first taunt, the square dance that I got from a giveaway from a twitch streamer who's a great friend of mine but the scammer did leave my unique quality weapons behind, that included my ham shank I got from that friend. I still have that ham and use it. Somehow the steam market trade hold saved two of my stranges, at the time knowing that I still had something was great because the day I lost all my items was and still is the worst and most stressful day of my life. Btw, I didn't delete any of my items like the badge, but the game deleted my achievement item force a nature for no reason and steam support didn't give it back even though it's a UNTRADABLE item that has no value :( I've tried to get my stolen items back but I've only been able to get one cosmetic back out of like 30. Most of them have been wiped off of backpack,tf so I can't even find their current owners.
one of my notable items is a SMG with a pretty cool warpaint and a killstreak with matching sheen. i traded it from a person in a community server for not too much, but i just kinda remembered it and it feels nice having that item. i also have a sun-on-a-stick that some guy gave me trough a gift-a-pult a very long time ago, since then, every time i get a gift-a-pult on christmass, i immiedetely get sun-on-a-stick and send it to some random guy lol
I've also fell for that scam but luckily I got my uncle to message steam support since he's had a steam account for over a decade and I got it back. I do remember in my early days of playing deleting my gibus and my haunted scrap. Till this day I wish I still had the scrap.
When I was a kid I remember deleting or scrapping like half of my backpack to try and get some specific scout weapons. I think the one thing I regret getting rid of the most was my fortified compound, which isn't impossible to get back but damn, I wonder why I even did that. And I also remember trading away my frying pan for a Soda Popper cause I really loved the way it looked, only to never use it outside of community servers. This was when you could build hype just by running around so I used it in those places a lot.
I remember accidentally deleting my Headless Horseman's headwear when i was younger. That silly mistake still makes me sad to this day, because it was part of my childhood and favorite in-game boss.
I haven't played TF2 for that long, only like 4 years, but I still remember the day I had my inventory full as a F2P and I decided to sell the mercenary badge. At the time I didn't think much of it, but now I regret it a lot and seeing this video in my recommended makes me feel a bit better knowing I wasn't the only naive person to delete the badge.
I ended up deleting my Gibus on my original account, and after a while, I started to miss it, despite not wearing it whatsoever, but the support group also denied my request to get it back. Now, I have a new account, starting off fresh with new items, new hats/cosmetics & taunts. I’m actually happy that I have these ‘newbie’ items in my backpack, and in every single one of my classes, my D loadout is always the Gibus, Pyrovision googles, and mercenary badge.
It's a shame Valve support stopped giving items back. I asked for my Gibus and badge back, and they did! But then realized ive had multiple other items ive also deleted and never asked back. Like the headless horseman hat or the monoculus. It's a shame theyre gone forever.
Twice i gave away all my items when I thought I'd stop playing for good. Once in 2012 and in 2014. All those items are now classic vintage hats. Regret And all those cool legacy items like the gibus and the ww2 helmet I combined to make a new hat.
@@angiovanni7356 I regret it so much, man! Especially since I also know the historical significance of the Brodie helmet. I just thought it was a random ugly hat.
At least I still have my pan. It's the original one I got from having L4D2. I love it. I even put Bacon Grease on it to make it strange(back when it was cheap). That's mine and only mine.
I totally relate to this. I thought I had mine up until watching this very video. I was like "dang that does suck, but I have mine thankfully", then I go to look at it and I don't have it. I have a Dueling Badge. I also know I've gotten rid of a lot of my other untradeable items as well. I have around $400 in items in that I have vowed to never get rid of for any circumstance, but not having my untradeable items almost feels like a bigger loss.
i deleted everything i could in like 2012 thinking id never return owner hat, badge, halloween axe, alien swarm hat. idk what else, still hurts to this day
I started playing around 2015 or something and my first drop was the mann melter and despite it being terrible i cant bring myself to get rid of it. I feel like its what got me into the game through pyro, and now I dont play pyro much but I'll keep it with me forever.
i deleted my gibus to free up space thinking to myself "hey this silly hat is a sign of being a noob and it seems i can get a cooler upgraded version of it later anyway, so might as well delete it to free up space" not being aware it's basically a personal item you can only ever get once. i remember regretting it so much when that SiN's G.E.W.P. trend came out and i can't play around as a gibus engineer
I was SO close to deleting my gibus, but thankfully, I had a bunch of crates that got nuked instead .

i did the same thing, atleast you can buy the headless horsemanns horseless headtaker for like $1000 expensive as shit, but still possible
And then you would've been in my position where you felt bad about wasting the metal scrap on an untradeable eyelander reskin instead of the skull.
I still don't know what the haunted metal does but it's still in my backpack for now
@@tarquinioprisco8459 You use it to craft the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker
@@user-wj6jh1cd5n skull hat costs around 20$ and hhh is worth around 1000$ if tradeable
my dumbass unboxed a unusual on my first crate and then turned it into a Halloween cosmetic with my provision googles :)
I was f2p for 2 years and I have destroyed mine gibus and pyro goggles, so when I bought premium, message the support staff and they added me a new one :) Thanks Valve
i'll never forget the day i accidently deleted my black rose..
For me, that badge would be my first (and only) australium - i got it on my very first MvM tour - it was a knife for Spy.
i sold it on the steam market, and used the money to buy GTA5 which was on sale at that time.
but about 2 years later i realized that i actually sold it for much less than it was worth, nowadays i'd either kept it, or sold it for keys. im still very pissed about it, and remember it everytime i play mvm
i was a pretty new player back then, i didnt *really* know about trading yet, i just sold it on the steam market ...
i deleted my gibus :crying :
@@hellnaw7812
Yeah I get that to and I can't be back so I sad
i have sufered even worse, 5 years ago... i was a newbie and with no backpack space i deleted my badge, my gibus, my pyrogoogles, and any existent free cosmetic i had, they didnt meant too much in those times, now everytime i see a paint bucket i just want to use it on my gibus, but well, it isnt anymore with me so...
anyone know or can link the mod for the drawn on class icon things at 0:05 pls? thanks
i didnt find it but the closest thing is "bub pack" on gamebanana
@@0pt0utYT bro might be still waiting
deleted haunted metal scrap, one of the achievement map top hats, and mann co cap. i do not know why.
My second ever hat drop was a Towering Pillar of Hats. I traded it for a Direct Hit I scrapped like a week later.
I like the video BUT IT MADE ME SO FUCKIN HAPPY SEEN THE SHELLNUT TF2 DRAWINGS!!!!!
Haha :D
I've used a shellnut hud off game bannana for a while now cos those drawings are just pure tf2 for me
Luckily for me, I was given a replacement version of my achievement items back. As soon as they gave me my gibus back I strangified it.
0:10 "or a new player deciding what item to sacrifice to keep their newly found Boston Basher,"
too relatable bro 😔
I like how he’s wearing the gibus and pyrovison goggles
Backstory for your class loadout is realy needed. I love to give any meaning to my loadout without conficting with tf2 lore
Can someone please help me to figure out what's the map on 5:00 called? I've been looking for it for ages now
dm_duel!
This is my engi Loadout with out me is nothing me with out my engi Loadout makes me a sitting duck for more backstabs and headshots
i'll trade you 5 achievements for my mercanary badge
I deleted my Gibus thinking it was lame and I won't need it, I regret it daily
Maybe the real mercenary badge was the friends we made along the way
As someone who has to deal with a similar experience, it makes me wish we could just make the W+M1 pyros real along with Miss Pauling so we could have them melt the people who think it is funny to swipe items and accounts
What map is he playing at 5:12 please tell me i remember playing it back in 2014 in a local server .
dm_duel, its a childhood map for me as well :)
Thank you so much
Traded my gibus away years ago, but recently managed to track it down and get it back after all those years, is nice
Rip my gibus and merc badge
Btw, I didn't delete any of my items like the badge, but the game deleted my achievement item force a nature for no reason and steam support didn't give it back even though it's a UNTRADABLE item that has no value :(
I've tried to get my stolen items back but I've only been able to get one cosmetic back out of like 30.
Even though you were late to the party, you were still the life of it
When I was a kid I remember deleting or scrapping like half of my backpack to try and get some specific scout weapons.
I scraped my gimbus....
Worst mistake of my life
5:40 hardest watch of the century
It's a shame theyre gone forever.
and this is why "the lost and found ticket" should be added, would just be nice to get those back, even after steam stopped letting you get them back
Very great video, and GREAT subtitles to go along with it! Seriously its been really long since i've seen such high quality ones :]❤
I got 3 panic attacks gun
Twice i gave away all my items when I thought I'd stop playing for good. Once in 2012 and in 2014. All those items are now classic vintage hats. Regret
And all those cool legacy items like the gibus and the ww2 helmet I combined to make a new hat.
There is nothing I regret more in TF2 than using my Proof of Purchase in a Halloween transmute before understanding its significance.
You what?
Did I read this right
my condolences man rip that proof of purchase
@@angiovanni7356 I regret it so much, man! Especially since I also know the historical significance of the Brodie helmet. I just thought it was a random ugly hat.
Got rid of my Gibus, Pyrovision goggles, Mercenary badge, and I think pretty much everything you get
sad , I deleted mine pyrovision and gibus , f2p , I was making more back pack space
At least I still have my pan. It's the original one I got from having L4D2. I love it. I even put Bacon Grease on it to make it strange(back when it was cheap). That's mine and only mine.
I’m glad I watched this before playing tf2 for the first time so now I know to never make that mistake
maybe the true mercenary badge was the friends we made along the way...
I totally relate to this. I thought I had mine up until watching this very video. I was like "dang that does suck, but I have mine thankfully", then I go to look at it and I don't have it. I have a Dueling Badge. I also know I've gotten rid of a lot of my other untradeable items as well.
I have around $400 in items in that I have vowed to never get rid of for any circumstance, but not having my untradeable items almost feels like a bigger loss.
i deleted everything i could in like 2012 thinking id never return
owner hat, badge, halloween axe, alien swarm hat. idk what else, still hurts to this day
0:00 how did you change the color of the text?
I started playing around 2015 or something and my first drop was the mann melter and despite it being terrible i cant bring myself to get rid of it. I feel like its what got me into the game through pyro, and now I dont play pyro much but I'll keep it with me forever.
I remember deleting a few items and thankfully I got them back before steam said no more given items.
I did this with the Gibus hat.... i cant even pretend to be a free to play anymore...
I’m pretty sure one can buy a Gibus hat from external sites.
i deleted my gibus to free up space thinking to myself "hey this silly hat is a sign of being a noob and it seems i can get a cooler upgraded version of it later anyway, so might as well delete it to free up space" not being aware it's basically a personal item you can only ever get once. i remember regretting it so much when that SiN's G.E.W.P. trend came out and i can't play around as a gibus engineer
Before I found out about the inventory exploit I used to only delete weapons I thought I'd never use.
