Honda CBR650R Extended Fairing Install (2020 model) - New Look

As promised in the video, I said I would share the link to the Extended Fairings I purchased and also a quick run down of the tooling.
I also mentioned in the video, the bike was going in for a wrap, so I am not as worried about colour matching. In the video it didn’t look a great match, but when I got into natural daylight and went for a ride, they are pretty damn good. Check my Instagram page for images:

All in all the job was really simple, but if you are going to do what I did and leave the black aero parts fitted, then please be careful when hacksawing the bottom section off.
My advise it take a little bit off, then measure up and try it, if it doesn’t work, take a little more off.
Tools:
• 5mm Hex Head / Allen Key (old bolts fitted)
• 3mm Hex Head / Allen Key (new bolts provided)
• Junior Hacksaw

These cbr650rs are honestly so gorgeous, idk if it's just me but they are an absolute eye piece to look at, like a mini stout fireblade

Personally, i find the look of that inline four, combined with the colored covers, contribute to the charm of this bike. So I would definitely not want to cover that area.
Thanks for the comment. As I said in the video, I have fitted them for a specific reason. Stay tuned and all will be revealed as to why they are fitted to the bike!

How did you fix the gaps in the pannels
I cant seem to fix mine and ive got 2 different sets of extended fering and they both dont fit propper

It feels alright. It could've been better. There's the obvious panel gap and also the colour of the panel is not exactly aligned with the body colour. All in all it feels cheap. But that exhaust is looking plush on the bike.
But In CBR I Like Austin Racing Exhaust. But Whatever Akrapovic is Also a Good Exhaust🤙

Thanks for the comment. Nope, no vibration or wind effect. They fit and look like they are OEM and should be in my opinion.
I took the bike out for a blast on Sunday and to be honest, I forgot they were fitted.
That looks great, but I could only cover my hand warming area for a few months each year 🤣
That’s a very good point, although you can still feel the heat and get your hands on the lower parts of the engine 🤙🏻

Hey, it’s the original from Honda. This was part of the sport pack, so it’s OEM
If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to suggest you to start adding carbon fibre parts to the bike. A glossy woven carbon fibre against the factory red colour of Honda will look really good. And it will keep the overall weight of the bike lesser than stock
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I am going to have the bike completely custom wrapped, so the colour match wasn’t an issue for me and I feel it would be a waste to use Carbon when I wrap over the top of it. In the video I explain I will get the gaps sorted, as I agree they aren’t the best. 🤙🏻
Wrapping it is one way of putting it. I would have kept it the same way it is since it cannot look any better than this. But I’d be curious waiting to see how it looks with the wrap.
How are the carbon fibre wings held on? Double sided tape or some bolts/screws? Where did you get them from?, what about the fairing extenders, are they chinese ones or genuine honda?

The winglets are held on with 3M double sided tape. They come pre-cut to match the shape of the winglets. Once they are on, then are not moving. I bought them online, just try a quick Google search. Unfortunately I can’t find the link to the exact ones I bought.
I was disappointed with the finish on the inside of the them, so I got some satin black wrap and wrapped the inside.
The fairing extenders are non-OEM as Honda do not make these. Link for the ones I purchased below:

It looks like you have to loosen the bottom bolt (not completely take off) slide the panel in then re tighten the bolt once it lines up
I agree, that’s what it looks like, but it doesn’t happen / work. A lot of people on 19/20 bikes have removed their inner black panel, but the way I fitted them, I didn’t need to

Hey, sorry I didn’t see a link, so maybe there was an issue with it.
The Carbon winglets are a nice touch and make the front a little more aggressive. I was disappointed with the finish when I purchased them, so the inside was wrapped in satin black before fitment.
The mirrors I have fitted are good, but I will be purchasing the Rizoma mirrors soon

@@SketchyRider I have used various stores and even eBay (shop) if the parts are genuine and it’s a reputable supplier.
I know what you mean about making it your own. I have only had this bike since September and I have done a fair bit to it. Luckily, there are quite a few things you can do to make it individual. The fact the bike only comes in 2 colours (in the UK) was my main driver for the bike wrap.
Also check out some of the Forums, I use 650f.bike quite a bit.

You are not wrong. It sounds and looks amazing. It’s certainly been designed in keeping with the bike and being tucked away it’s very neat and tidy. 🤙🏻
The sound of my ‘18 with a full Akro is the best feature of the bike.

They are online, so try eBay or similar sites. A Google search should find them. I have left the link in the description for the exact ones I bought

It’s OEM Honda. It comes as part of the sport pack in the UK when spec’d from new
Where did you buy the fairings and aerodynamic elements ?
I found them online. The fairings are aftermarket and non OEM, so have a look around and check reviews. There are 2 types, one with slots cut out and solid ones like mine.

Never considered that to be fair 😂. Hardly ever see those bikes around me.
However, my bike was stolen, so somebody else has a bike that “looks like a CBR500R” now
It could have been better if it's carbon fiber.
To be honest, I was going to wrap over the top of them anyway, so it would have been a shame to cover them if they were Carbon.
Fairly easy to fit. Except, they don't fit 🤣🤣
