I would love to to see Honda make a CBR750R with a twin, I think it makes more useable power and torque for the street and around town riding. As you already mentioned in the video, it would be lighter and if it is based loosely on the hornet platform would have much more tech and be more affordable too. I do not see much of a downside. If they offered some kind of a sport touring version/package that would be even better, maybe we could get real crazy and even throw some VFR badges on it...
The only twins that sound good are V-Twins like on the Panigale V2, and 270 degree parallel twins like on the 450SS and R7, because they mimic the V-Twin burble. All these 180 parallel twins like the Ninja 400/650, R3, and CBR300R/500R sound awful, and an aftermarket exhaust barely helps. Single cylinder bikes like CF's 300SS/NK, KTM's 390's and Husq's 401's sound even worse stock.

there's a reason why they are dying. Have you ridden the cbr650r? it's very underwhelming for a 4cyl.. even the frame is made of steel. it's a budget bike and honda didn't want to spend any money on R&D to create a lighter/more powerful engine with less cyl. it would've made an amazing bike a decade ago. that being said, I still think it's a great beginner bike. also, life is just too short to ride boring honda bikes! (they don't make em like the old hondas anymore!)
@EmotionalStreetTriple it's a good way to get your feet wet with a 4 cylinder. The 600rr was getting a little nutty. The 650r has the potential to be comfortable like the old 4 cylinder Hondas from 20 years ago. They were awesome do it all bikes. That said, I'm curious if you have any alternatives? I'm considering buying one but if there's something out there that's a little more fun I'd love to look into it
I have a 2019 650R and I love it. I would not consider a two cylinder bike even if it had way more power. One of my favorite parts of my 650R is the engine sound. It makes me smile every time I hit the throttle.
This is all the sport bike you need or want. I have one and I also have a 2009 GSX-R750. I ride the CBR and leave the gixxer in the garage. It's more enjoyable to rev a lesser powered engine high and use all of the power available than to just ride an overpowered bike at 50-75% of its capabilities. It's more comfortable too.

I like how the comparison between cbr650r and f4i only limited itself to weight and hp. Let's not talk about better geometry, suspension, brakes, tires, and probably a way more refined and reliable engine
Yeah - I rode the F4i before trading it up on a 1KRR in 04. Still have the 1KRR but I did have a Gen4 ZX10R which was a hoot and quite a nice package for road and track. Might look into 900 Yami Triple next though. See what they do with the R9 or go the XSR900
I’ve been daily ing cbr650r for more than 2 years now, if there is one thing i would like honda to do for newer models is offer adjustable suspension. The standard one is good but its abit on the soft side , which is good for long touring rides but me personally and many of my fellows friends who own the same bike feels the suspension feels a bit “soft” especially in high speed runs but overall the bike is the best .it got Fully usable power for the street riding and trust me u can” follow” up on sbk bikes with this baby. Not underpowered for 650cc i4 bike. The i4 engine sound is the best. ❤
Traxxion dynamics sells a supersport fork cartridge for this bike. You can pair it with a stiffer shock spring or get a racing shock from Penske. Not cheap though.
@@MrGuginez My shock dyno guy really recommends the traxxion cartridge over the Andreani, but if you're only riding on the street he says the Andreani is good enough.
@@MrGuginezI have one too. You’re dead on with your assessment. I’m strictly street and this bike has more speed than you’ll ever need for that as well as the “occasional” track visit if you’re doing that every now and then. The suspension is fine for me but I can see how it would need to be upgraded if you needed that high speed control more often and in those track situations. Stay safe and keep riding.
I'm in Australia and got the black CBR 650r 2019, Really nice bike and really good everyday ride. getting it tuned and dyno'd made it all the more better to ride "de-restricted"
@@ChevyCorvetteZIt is compared to a “super sport” for sure. I’m an old guy😜 and riding the cbr650r for a couple of hours at a time is no issue. When I was in my 20’s or 30’s I could have ridden it all day, no problem. It can cruise as fast as you need - no one really needs more speed than this bike will produce unless they’re a track rat. I really enjoy this bike.
I am sure Honda is aware of all the rejection towards the Hornet looks therefore we could expect (if it happens) a better looking version of a cbr750r. Still nothing beats the inline 4 😊
Maaaan, I hope so! If they want people to people to forget about the fact that they're taking the inline-four away, they HAVE to absolutely nail the styling on the CBR750R and bring a lot to the table in certain aspects where this CBR650R is lacking. I'm not overly excited about the end of even more four-cylinder bikes as that's what I prefer personally but I'm super curious to see how all of this pans out and how it's going to be accepted etc. One thing's for sure, it's going to be interesting to see what happens next... Appreciate ya watching Al and hopping in the conversation etc to help support all of this bud ;)
It's crazy how these finding these bikes, among many others have been like finding a needle in a haystack ever since this whole rona mess kicked off. Fingers crossed we start to see some drastic improvements on that front soon as not everyone wants to wait around or jump through 1,000 hoops to buy a Honda, before they start looking at other brands to buy.
god.. pls no, i love this bike (own the 2021 model) actual good daily sport bike, I've tried R7, RS660, ZX6R and 650R is definitely my fav, not too heavy on arm (I've been on 3hrs traffic jam on it), really nice look, easy maintenance, flat seat where i actually *can* brought passenger and i have (my wife actually like be on the back and picked my daughter from school every now and then) and that sweet sweet inline 4 engine are just *chef kiss the only pet peeve i have is that suspension, i want at least preload adjustable on both, don't really care about TFT display while it would be great to see on it I don't really mind LCD bcs it still fully useful. if honda actually gonna make CBR750R for the love of Honda Soichiro pls don't kill the 650 platform
You hit the nail on the head, it may not "win" in some aspects when it comes to spec-sheet shoppers but as an all-round sport bike for those that don't want a full-out supersport bike - this thing has a LOT going for it. Could they stand to throw some improvements at it? 100%! As like you mentioned, adjustable forks and a larger TFT display would be awesome but they're not deal breakers for a lot of people and for those that don't mind it the way it is, would only end up having to pay a higher price tag for those upgrades, when they didn't care about them to start with. It's a slippery slope though. I'm right there with you bud, there is NOTHING that beats the sound of an inline-four! I've harped about them disappearing in past videos (like this one th-cam.com/video/aiwugX19FLo/w-d-xo.html ) so I'll save you from having to read a novel about my thoughts on it all lol as we're on the same page. I don't mind a twin, just like I don't mind electric - I just don't want to see our four bangers and ICE toys in general start to disappear faster than they already are, leaving us with no real options at the end of the day. Not much longer and we won't have such different engine configurations from all of the manufacturers and it's going to be, do you want a twin or do you want electric and that's it lol! It's going to be interesting to see how all of this pans out though... Appreciate ya watching and sharing your thoughts too as a CBR650R! Ride safe out there and enjoy that thing ;)
@@HondaProKevin yes! nowadays if you want a i4 bike below 1000cc your only option is either honda or Kawasaki as both the only major manufacturer that still bother to produce i4 engine for bike that below 1000cc, nowadays if you get bike that's below 1000cc your choice is a twin (literally every other manufacturers), or single ( SMC, svart/vit) or in rare case triple (triumph and suzuki). your choice for i4 literally only 3 that is CB/R650R, ZX6R, or ZX4R 2 already came from same manufacturer and if you came from Asia you also have choice for ZX25R, if Honda remove 650R line and Kawasaki will hold the entire market segment for i4 bike below 1000cc, is it small market? yes it is, but more options is always good for customers as honda the only one that offer i4 in naked bike form, if 650 disappear that mean our choice for i4 bike below 1000cc will only be sports bike
Just caught your fb release was looking for this review. This is an awesome bike and I would be very happy with the arrest me red color. This is a smooth criminal I have a love for these and the 500r but not in the financial cards at the mo. Fortunes change though so there’s always hope
Man I love this thing! Looking forward to getting one either this or next year. Would love to get a 600rr, but I can't help but to be jealous of what the Japanese version of the rr is. It's definitely dated. For me it's the modern features that make me wanna get this, love the leds all around and will be one heck of an upgrade to my CB300R :)
I moved up to the 650 from the cbr300r as well and have no regrets. Great bike! It’s a bit heavier and gearing is VASTLY different so it takes so getting used to. Stay safe!
I own a CB650R and I bought it only for one simple reason. IN-LINE 4 CYLINDERS. I don't care about the CB750 being lighter, cheaper, or whatever. This 4 cylinders knows how to squeeze joy out of you.
I know this is not about the 600RR, but if Honda is watching, I wish they could do what's necessary to bring the jdm 600RR to the US. Other Japanese 600 models are able to meet the US requirements (as stupid as the requirements are) and it's just heartburn paying so much money for an inferior bike. I've always been a Honda fan, but that (updated) ZX6R is starting to look real tempting
That bike only needs Elektronic Thorttle so QS can work both ways + driver mods can be added that way too. Also Honda can work for vibration between 6-8k rav range.
lol right! I'm surprised they haven't tried to incorporate an extra R before the CBR yet, it just rolls off the tongue so easily hahaha! Appreciate ya bud ;)
@@trevor2830 super late reply apologies!. It’s not bad at all it’s a light lean forward. I’ve ridden a couple 2ish hour rides in the last month with no issues. You can easily ride it more or less sat straight up. My bro has the naked version and there’s almost no difference between them.

I own a cbr650R, I adore it's dynamics and comfort and especially sound and looks. The one thing I'd probably want as an upgrade is a litrebike version in the future, similar street focused tuning and geometry, but still i4 screamer. Oh and factory support for hard bags all around 😂 (I've got em on my cbr650R!)
@@Rocco-tb9ih you mean the regular fireblade? I meant with the more comfortable geometry of a VFR or the CBR650R, support for hard luggage, etc, the VF1200F would be nice if it weren't so ugly and so TERRIBLE sounding and also heavy hahaha
ahhh I see what you're after. The CB1000R is naked, but you can get aftermarket windscreens if it's windblast you're bothered about. If you want the fully faired look though I get that@@BigDonkMongo
Honda, keep the inline 4. I’ve got my order in for a 2024 GoldWing Tour to keep my 2020 FJR1300 company in the garage. But one of these 650R is on the list next for my wife in 2025. Has to be an inline 4.
Nonononononono. I don’t like it. The reason I lean towards the cbr650r in the class is literally because of that beautiful inline 4 sound. MISTAKE Honda. Mistake. I hate this new trend of 2 cylinder bikes.
It's kinda weird that Philippines has cbr650r for sale but only a few buys it (100cc-150cc popular here) while the people/countries who really want it can't buy (but have money to purchase).
Honda been knocking it out of the park for two wheels so long now I don't recall, does anyone else even make an non BEV anymore? Lots of huge vibing over the Honda automatic shifting system as only Honda keeping pace with even electric scooters now let alone pure BEV motorcycle with the Harley Davidson suddenly top dog in that entirely new segment once dominated by Zero. *PLUG AND PLAY, BABY!*
Maaaaan oh man, your comment shows just how out of touch I am when it comes to electric... I had to google BEV lol! I'm so used to them being referred to as an EV etc that it threw me for a loop. Honda's dipping their toes in that market, I touch on it in this video th-cam.com/video/0pKgmYE40AM/w-d-xo.html and have in some other videos as well but we've still got a bit more time in their electric model lineup announcement schedule (shown in that video) but it'll be interesting to see how their offerings stack up against Harley and the others. Thanks for watching and jumping in the conversation bud, appreciate ya ;)
Why they dont gives bronze coloured engine cover? That looks so osm man. But all things like engine are fully black with red colour body and white graphics dosent seems osm . I miss older bronze golden shockers suspension and engine cover look.❤
Thankfully they didn't go to a twin for 2024 and sadly, it wasn't bored out to a 750 but... there were some pretty good changes for 2024 that I cover here: th-cam.com/video/Pdi6rVvjylg/w-d-xo.html Appreciate ya watching and hopping in the conversation too bud ;)
Yeah buddy, it'd be nice if we had the same color options all around the world. It drives me crazy, if you couldn't tell by my harping on it constantly lol!
I'd happily trade places with you. In Australia they only receive the neutered learner version (47hp) for the 650R with no OEM conversion kit available. 😭
Honda just needs to fix the tail section of this bike, do some sound tuning without making the exhaust look like ass and Offer a CLEAN BLACK WITHOUT ANY BS
i just wish they made the new hornet with the neo retro styling. hornets of old were always a 4 cylinder bike so it is weird that the neo retro is a 4 cylinder and the hornet a faster paralel twin. Weird reasoning i know, i just think the hornet looks out of date.
Oh yeah, I see where you're coming from! That's one of the many reasons why I'd love to be a fly on the wall in some of these meetings as they decide what to do next with X, Y or Z models and to just see their whole thought process behind it all. It'd have to be super interesting to hear why this did this or didn't do that etc...
Honda bring back the VFR-750R (even an "F"), but _not_ as a faux Sport-bike grand touring platform. You're charging brand premiums, but giving us industry average products. Now you're moving the brand away from even I-4 and towards cheap Parallel Twins? What the actual...?!? Honda used to be unique with a V-4, so make the brand so again.
I have 2018 CBR650F. I love it. No bike has made me hate Honda more than CBR650R. They could have made an epic bike that would win over ... everyone. The TFT display is bargain basement garbage. The electronics .. garbage. The lack of quick shifter, ABS control. aluminium frame and gear indicator ... unforgivable. Seriously Honda are trash. I have lost all faith in them. No way in hell I'll part with $$ to buy any of their new bikes.
Thankfully they didn't go to a twin for 2024 and there were some pretty good changes for 2024 that I cover here: th-cam.com/video/Pdi6rVvjylg/w-d-xo.html Appreciate ya watching and hopping in the conversation too bud ;)
I couldn't agree with you any more bud, which is why I had to take a dig at it here and there and bring up the 20+ year old CBR600F4i that had it beat in many categories - weight being a big one. To play devils advocate though, decreasing weight takes money and most people want cheaper price tags and would rather save a few bucks and add weight than the other way around so it's a slippery slope for sure. Honda could definitely take a page from Yamaha's book on a lot of things... Well, not when it comes to the R7 lol as we need our inline-fours! Still saddens me about the R6.
It's not a sport bike it's more along the lines of the GSX650F (bandit). More comfortable position, heavier, smoother, lower based torque band. Etc. It's meant to be ridden comfortably with solid sportiness. A 600 super sport is directed solely towards track performance (don't let the clowns at the BP parking lot tell you otherwise). Track bikes vs sport tourer.
@@jordanjoestar8839 yeah people keep thinking its a supersport or something when its more of a sports tourer. like you said easy on the body but still nice to hit the hills. don't know why manufacturers don't make more sport touring with clip ons like the 650r or most pre 2000 sport tourer. Most of them come with handle bars and its just feels like a naked with fairings, it kinda defeats the "sport" part of it guess.
The 650r is kind of in a wierd stop IMHO. The ninja 650 is much cheaper to make up for the less power. The r7 is less powerful, but the twin has more usable power down low. Im not sure that It has anything that stands out other than the 4cyl. But it seems like most people looking for a 600 4 cyl will go zx6r or gsxr or maybe cbr600rr. IMHO if honda doesn't want to offer anything cool, just keep it in Japan and keep sending us 100 different UTVs lol
If I was a betting man, I'd say the CBR750R will have the same 4.5 inch wide rear wheel with a 160 as the CB750. From a business perspective, it would make sense for them to use the same setup, like how they did with the CB650R / CBR650R sharing the same wheelset. I hope I'm wrong though and they build a wider rear wheel for it but I'd say the penny pinchers in accounting won't let that happen as it would add a hefty amount to the bottom line. Fingers crossed though...
There is nothing wrong with the 160 rear tyre when it gives better cornering performance over a 180. Namely the SV650 has a 160 rear tyre and that bike is absolutely beloved even as a track bike.
As a fellow 07-08 generation owner from over the years in both street and track trims, hold onto that thing! Honda knocked it out of the park back then, no doubt about it.
Not everyone cares about speed. I like this bike cause it looks good, sounds good, is reliable, is comfortable and fast enough for daily use. It’s definitely not made to be a “super bike”.
No hopes from Honda. That turd only makes around 80hp. The GSR750 makes 150. The 650 is a street based gentle and heavy sport tourer, the GSXR750 is a brutally capable street and track weapon, radared at 183mph. If they go for it, they've got the work more than cut out for them lol. The Hornet is also a mess, and the GSX 8S has a wider rear tire, better frame and quick shifter included. Either way, Honda is getting a bit confused as of late. They aren't making things to the same level of expectations they used too.
Yessir, to say they've got their work cut out for them is a massive understatement lol! The entire middleweight segment for both sport / naked sport bikes has been heating up with the supersport segment pretty much dying off and it's left us with some pretty interesting and odd comparisons between segments from all of the manufacturers. And as much as I hate to admit to it, Honda is playing catch up in some aspects and they aren't doing the best job at it. Some of the decisions being made leave me scratching my head but I'd love to be a fly on the wall to see why some things are being done this way, versus another and the thought process behind it all. It'd have to be super interesting to sit in on some of those "big wig" meetings... Speaking of the GSX-8S, that's one I really want to ride this year! At first the styling was a major turn off for me when looking at the release pictures etc but after seeing more and more videos of that thing, it's really grown on me and most reviewers that I've seen are really digging the package so it looks like Suzuki has nailed it on that one. Looking forward to ripping one soon though. Appreciate ya watching and jumping in the conversation to share your thoughts bud ;)
I think your priorities are that of a vapid squid. Believe it or not people aren't obsessed about tOp sPeEdS on public roads for obvious reasons. Besides there is nothing wrong with the 160 rear tyre when it gives better cornering performance over a 180. Namely the SV650 has a 160 rear tyre and that bike is absolutely beloved even as a track bike.
Not everyone wants a death machine super bike. This bike is comfortable, fast enough for daily use and reliable. For many people including me that’s more than enough.

Yep - and the cbr is still a “top end 150 mph” bike. That’s more power than you’ll ever need on the street. I love mine.
Useful insight I've always respected the 750 but makes sense that the 650 is actually more useable

The cbr650r has one big thing going for it, looks, its no doubt a very pretty bike, great design.Cheers!!!
The heavenly in-line 4 sound
Agreee, it looks really awesome
i hope they dont ever get rid of the inline 4 its prob 80% of the reason i want this bike so much.
This bike is perfect as it is. Perfect down to the every minute detail.
We gottta keep a middleweight sportbike. The current gap from $10k to $18k won't cut it.
Ya it needs upgrade. Im planning to get the misano cartridge kit from Andreani suspension.
@@MrGuginez My shock dyno guy really recommends the traxxion cartridge over the Andreani, but if you're only riding on the street he says the Andreani is good enough.
@@jamesschaffer5504 yes bro. I mostly ride on the street. I only hit the tracks once a year just to get the “kicks”.
Honda needs to keep the 4 cylinder engine! The smaller engines simply can't offer the same soundtrack that adds to the overall experience!
I'm in Australia and got the black CBR 650r 2019, Really nice bike and really good everyday ride. getting it tuned and dyno'd made it all the more better to ride "de-restricted"
Is it comfortable on long distances?
@@ChevyCorvetteZIt is compared to a “super sport” for sure. I’m an old guy😜 and riding the cbr650r for a couple of hours at a time is no issue. When I was in my 20’s or 30’s I could have ridden it all day, no problem. It can cruise as fast as you need - no one really needs more speed than this bike will produce unless they’re a track rat. I really enjoy this bike.
I bought a 23cbr500r to start on. When im ready, i want to move up to this.....
I purchased a 2023 GSX-R750 since it hasn't changed since 2011. Pure 4cyl sport bike with fully adjustable suspension.
I looked at one of these yesterday and I think it is a beautiful bike. I love the inline 4 personally.
I’ve had a 2023 for about a year now. I love it - perfect for my riding.
Honda. Please send more to Minnesota.
I've been waiting 3 years to get a CB650R.
It's crazy how these finding these bikes, among many others have been like finding a needle in a haystack ever since this whole rona mess kicked off. Fingers crossed we start to see some drastic improvements on that front soon as not everyone wants to wait around or jump through 1,000 hoops to buy a Honda, before they start looking at other brands to buy.
god.. pls no, i love this bike (own the 2021 model) actual good daily sport bike, I've tried R7, RS660, ZX6R and 650R is definitely my fav, not too heavy on arm (I've been on 3hrs traffic jam on it), really nice look, easy maintenance, flat seat where i actually *can* brought passenger and i have (my wife actually like be on the back and picked my daughter from school every now and then) and that sweet sweet inline 4 engine are just *chef kiss
the only pet peeve i have is that suspension, i want at least preload adjustable on both, don't really care about TFT display while it would be great to see on it I don't really mind LCD bcs it still fully useful. if honda actually gonna make CBR750R for the love of Honda Soichiro pls don't kill the 650 platform
The LCD instrument should be replaced with a brighter and better TFT-display. Actually I'd love a sports tourer version of the Hornet!
The 2024 mod has the TFT
2 reasons for the parallel twin surge. 1. Money 2. emissions.
I bought one of these. One of the reasons I bought it was it is an inline 4.
Stay safe!

Picking mine up this Wednesday. Can't wait
Heck yeah, big congrats man! Ride safe and don't forget to scrub in those new tires a bit before you go ham on her ;)
I know this is not about the 600RR, but if Honda is watching, I wish they could do what's necessary to bring the jdm 600RR to the US.
Sweet, but I’ll hold out for the RCBR750RRR 😂
lol right! I'm surprised they haven't tried to incorporate an extra R before the CBR yet, it just rolls off the tongue so easily hahaha!

That pearl white would be a nice offering. That's the one I'd get!

How can I find the video on the engine details? Love the sound of the 4 cyl.
You don’t see a lot of pearl white bikes anymore that would be nice
Nonononononono. I don’t like it. The reason I lean towards the cbr650r in the class is literally because of that beautiful inline 4 sound. MISTAKE Honda. Mistake. I hate this new trend of 2 cylinder bikes.

How well does the 650R hold its value?
That's one nice-looking bike
I’ve been waiting for them to release the red CBR 650 are in Canada for three years. I’m definitely not waiting any longer.

I know they will probably use the twin. But damn I hope the bore this mill out to a 750cc next gen

i just wish they made the new hornet with the neo retro styling. hornets of old were always a 4 cylinder bike so it is weird that the neo retro is a 4 cylinder and the hornet a faster paralel twin. Weird reasoning i know, i just think the hornet looks out of date.

There weren't any "big" mechanical changes but there were still changes for this year ;)
Honda bring back the VFR-750R (even an "F"), but _not_ as a faux Sport-bike grand touring platform. You're charging brand premiums, but giving us industry average products. Now you're moving the brand away from even I-4 and towards cheap Parallel Twins? What the actual...?!? Honda used to be unique with a V-4, so make the brand so again.
Long live the inline fours. No interest in the 750twin

A 600 class “sport” bike that weighs more than my mt10 is a joke.
Everyone except Honda, stop making bikes 😜🤠
The 650r is kind of in a wierd stop IMHO. The ninja 650 is much cheaper to make up for the less power. The r7 is less powerful, but the twin has more usable power down low. Im not sure that It has anything that stands out other than the 4cyl. But it seems like most people looking for a 600 4 cyl will go zx6r or gsxr or maybe cbr600rr. IMHO if honda doesn't want to offer anything cool, just keep it in Japan and keep sending us 100 different UTVs lol
Ride within your skill set
the cbr 750 r better have a 180 back tire... 🥴
Still slower than my 08 CBR600RR
As a fellow 07-08 generation owner from over the years in both street and track trims, hold onto that thing! Honda knocked it out of the park back then, no doubt about it.
Not everyone cares about speed. I like this bike cause it looks good, sounds good, is reliable, is comfortable and fast enough for daily use. It’s definitely not made to be a “super bike”.
Cbr650r is too heavy. Not recommended for beginner.
600 motor heat kills it 650 perfection,750 stupid, can't compete
Did you get permission from Chase to use his stuff ? While you're showing his clips you should also add a verbal acknowledgement early in the clip.
Not if all they are going to do is clad that hornet in more plastic. That bike sucks
