    ** This is my first video edited by my newly hired video editor. I am looking for your feedback in the comments below! **
    iPhone sales are down and it seems like they have hit a ceiling. What now? The Apple watch? AirPods? A revival of the iPad? A pivot to internet services? I think Apple can learn a lot from Microsoft and how they handled the transition from Windows.

    Hey! This is the first video that was edited by my new editor, Adam. This is the first video he made for TH-cam, so take it easy on him please, but we would like to hear some honest feedback from everyone. How did you like the visuals and the editing? Was there something you really liked? Something you really didn't like? Any tips for what we could improve?

    • @640A
      @640A 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      NO! The reason why customers buy the iPhones and Macs in the first place is that of iOS & MacOS! Apple is only bringing paid services to other platforms to generate more revenue, they'll probably never allow cross-platform for features like Facetime, iMessage or Apple Pay. Just like they'll never make AirPods and Apple Watch compatible with Android.

Also, I love that you keep the visuals simple with connection lines, and "+" and "-" symbols and so on. You're right. If Apple really wants to start pushing services, then they are going to have to dismantle their walled garden to access the lion's share that are using non-Apple platforms, Android & Windows. However, I would be unsure of the kind of reception Apple would get on then more open platforms where their services aren't the default like on iOS & macOS

    Great points made in the video. Closed ecosystems never last in the long run. If they did something like keeping those native apps free for iPhone users it would incentivize people to stay with Apple for free usage of those services, as well as open the market for those that want access to apps like iMessage and FaceTime. Even if it is a somewhat stripped down version like they give to lower tier iPhone users. I for one would definitely pay a subscription to get some native IPhone apps on my android.

      Since they are publicly alluding to the fact that they intend on becoming a services company instead of a product/device company what Apple will likely do is stay closed system but offer the hardware for next to nothing along with their services. i.e Free AirPods/HomePod with purchase of Apple Music subscription, Free Apple TV with purchase of AppleNetwork subscription, free iPad with purchase of iCloud subscription, free iPhone with purchase of ApplePay etc. The better the services get and the more we increase our reliance on certain apps the less likely we are to buy the devices for anything but access to said services.

      Nokia is different. If they went with Android as a backup strategy for Symbian/MeeGoo, they would have ever fall. But they got Elop and Windows Phone, and we all know what happened. Even if a lot of their phones were just fantastic and much ahead of its time (Lumia 1020), no one really liked software support of Windows Mobile.. Developers didnt fancy Microsft Store too, although I personally still like Windows Mobile, it worked really well even on a low-power devices.
      But, if HMD Mobile keep making phones like these, this time around Nokia will survive even the death of the iPhone.
