    CJ is honestly one of the most innovative dudes in the industry, he has so many clever little ideas that get overlooked or slept on.

    I like my face plates all f***** up and scratched
    " battle-scarred" just to let these fools know what time it is. Lol

    Put the laminate on the face plate first, lined up at the top and then flip it over face down and cut the three edges using the face plate as your guide. Eliminates the use of the ruler. You should never use a plastic ruler as a cutting guide because the knife could climb up the ruler and possibly cut your finger.

    An easier way to apply would be to take an oversized sheet of laminate, align the top edge and smooth out. Take the blade and run it vertically from the underside to trim the overhang. Then cut your holes. Same way you grip a skateboard

    So how this lamination holding up after few years? does it chip off the paint? leave any residue? would love to know before I start applying it

    Killer. Now my only worry, specially on mixers that do see a lot of use, is that the adhesives and film product could damage the print on a mixer. Some silk-screened prints aren't particularly strong, which makes me wonder how risky this approach might be.

    but if it is badly scratched, yours is not, what improvement does the transparent film make?

    • @Swiftstyle
      @Swiftstyle  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it's more to protect it from no more scratches. If you have scratches then not much improvement

    but what after a year and you have to pull that laminate sheet off? will it take some of the ink from the faceplate??

    • @Swiftstyle
      @Swiftstyle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      great question. I feel like it should be fine since it doesn't stick like a normal sticker but I will be sure to test this.

      I have been doing this on my mixers since the days of the early 2000's on my Vestax Pro mixers. When you have to remove the laminate it will come off fine your original paint will not peel off you may have some sticky residue left over but that will come off with an alcohol wipe....

      @@Swiftstyle thanks for the shout out this was an idea i had when i noticed the paint fading on my 25th anniversary black 07 pro back in the early 2000's. I wanted to prevent it from rubbing off so I figured why not try laminate paper it works great. I have it on my DJM -S9 ,QFO and my Vestax mixers ....

      It's fine just slightly warm the faceplate with a hairdryer on low to soften the adhesive and it just peels of with no resistance.

    I would stick down a large piece then trim it all with a scalpel after. Avoid touching the adhesive part with your fingers. Good job though!

    isn't the laminate going to leave a sticky mess if you remove it after a long period of time just curious, since it works like sellotape in a way.

    what thickness do you recommend? I cannot find those 6 mm here in Europe...they work with Micron i think 70 micron is the lowest...

    Hi, I have the opportunity to buy a used Hak 360 ecler with the crossfader replaced by an innofader. I am just started, I wanted to know if there is a lot of difference between the magvel crossfader that brings the Pioneer djm 900 nxs2? Would you buy the ecler? Thank you.

    • @deejayqueazy8251
      @deejayqueazy8251 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Get the Hak with the Innofader. The Magvel in the 900 is no where near as dope as the Innofader...let alone the Hak itself.

    hey swift, im looking to make portablism videos here in atlanta. I know in one of your early vlogs you had mentioned putting the scratch and beat on separate tracks on through your portable recorder. How then do you sync the video and audio track while editing? thanks.
