the amount of influence these two guys alone had on the art of turntablism is phenomenal. wore out the VHS tapes back in the day. thanks for imparting the skills guys, absolute legends.
I know im randomly asking but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
Just to hear you talk about when YOU first heard and recognized these patterns when they came out...priceless. Steve Dee, Aladdin, X-men, ISP AND of course Beat Junkies were my teachers back in the day. One ☝️ love fam.
Best tutorial I've seen period. Ps strobing is tough! I've been trying everyday for 3 weeks and am starting to be able to do it thanks to this video. I woulda never understood to start the 2nd TT on the upbeat of 1 hi-hat. Thank you!
Great to see my favs DJs doin their thing. I remember Melo's tape back in the days trying to copy his style of scratching... Babu without a doubt my no1 when it comes to juggling - btw, pretty sensey-style at 4:39 😂👍💪
Shoutout to Rob Swift for the insane amount of knowledge the bro drops on his channel. Shoutout to Melo D , Babu, D-Styles and all the Junkies for their amazing online lessons. Also salute to Q-Bert for his do it yourself dvd series. The amount of wisdom dropped from these OGs to keep the culture alive is appreciated and respected.. Salute...
I remember listening to these breaks back in the 80s thinking they sounded like something recorded a few decades before the 80s as they sounded so old and nothing like the music of the 80s but most were only 10-15 years old which I found really odd.
Fun fact for all you turntable nerds out there: people have always said 'halftime', but it's actually more like 2/3. Take a 100bpm track and strobe it, it'll end about about 66bpm.
Reloop Rp2000, Reloop Rp 4000 for great begginer direct drive table at great price of $199-$280. Also Audio Technica Lp-120 but they don't have quite as much torque. Also Stanton t-92 USB is a nice table but more like $300.
Maybe those who comment on this channel are all geniuses, but, honestly, I have not understood the mechanics of this amazing technique. Maybe a graphical representation of the steps to follow, as well as a slow motion of its implementation, would help.
Thanks for the Vid, helped me A LOT! Little Critics; your Microphone sounds really weird, like you recorded with 2 mics and put it in a stereo mix.. KEEP IT UP BeatJunkies!
Its the same movements and timing, just use different parts of the record. This video is strobing. If you check out Rob Swift's video on Chasing, its slightly different.

@@briank3799 hey dude....i scratch hamster style as well and trying to follow this can be confusing, its not as simple as saying "oh just reverse it" i havent found a lot of tutorials online for "us hamster folks" but i know dj emma/short-e scratches hamster style and is dope as fuck, i looked to see if i could find a strobing tutorial but didnt see one but it would be worth looking through her channel tho: th-cam.com/users/studioscratchesvideos
hey might be too late but if anyone who juggles Hamster style or reverse crossfader, ive just uploaded a hamster chase pattern on my channel, maybe it will help some of hamster guy out there. cheers
It would be helpful to see the waveform to get a feel of which deck each sound was coming from. Just watching the decks is not helping me much. This technique needs too much concentration! 😬😬😬

What isbtje turntablism ?
Melo-D is a silent assassin!!
That's one of the coolest techniques I've seen yet.
i've been wanting to get this technique down since high school.
Blind alley routine to me is the best strobing+beat flip routine.
Explained So clear and concise. And as always Melo-D is the one take ninja on point as usual.Great tutorial BeatJunkie Familia.

Kewl in-depth explanation of the strob👍🏽 babu couldn’t explain it more through than that! Great demonstration by melo-d!!! Secrets to juggling!
Got this beginners pattern down in about 30 mins, thanks fellas! Now to move onto going throughout the song :)

I got to learn this!!
Thanks a lot !!

Thanks For this Video...so clear the way you explain... hope you be more success amen.
yes it is....old school still the best.....
I love you guys.
Reminds me of when there were breakdance instructors. You really can’t teach it. It you are student, you will never have your own style
Anybody know of some cheap direct drive turntables for scratching?

@@FaderFlosser thanks so much man really helps
Actually that doubling and tripling of that kick at the beginning is easier and sounds better to me but the strobing is interesting and harder.
Nice babu!!!
Thank God youtube has 0.5 speed option nowadays
yeah, that shit is tough to wrap your head around at first
Man who you telling lol
Wow great idea, thx dude!

Thanx, interesting video that looks tough, so after the second high hat, you close the fader & then follow with the second record?? Lol... Respex👍🙏🎶🌎
Dope vid
I've always called this the chase pattern technique.
I started doing this on 'Another One Bites The Dust' 45s
Does anyone know the name of the beat?.
Mellow makes it look easy. Nice format.
I’d like to see the demo also done on a Drum & Bass track 🤣
Eric Liss ***DJ CRAZE ENTERS THE CHAT***
What track do they use? They named it twice and I still can't find it :)
Aleksander Yatsenko th-cam.com/video/wqbEsS5kFb8/w-d-xo.html
He has a good speaking voice
Roger Moore lmao but he’s always high asf🍁💨

Right! Thought I was trippin on the audio...
Dope!
Please can I have the name of this record that you are using .
Impeach the president. The beat is on their record "beat junkies training wax" Dope record for training !

What’s the difference between Chase technique and strobing technique?? Or is it the same ??
Its the same movements and timing, just use different parts of the record. This video is strobing. If you check out Rob Swift's video on Chasing, its slightly different.
@djmeloD you still rocking rane 12’s and the 72??
now do double strobe pattern pls!
Exactly
Rob Swift has a video on it. Its called "Rock it in the pocket"
@6:01 I felt that...
I like how melo recked the shit out of the juggling and then stops with no reaction
These are killing me right now 🥲
another tip for learning this is: double up every other sound first

Wait a minute? Who is the creator? Rob Swift or Shortcutz? That's the question? Don't contradict..SMH..
Rob Swift birthed the concept. Short Kut was the first to make it float through.
@@JayWerx The strobe technique is a derivative of Rob Swifts swing pattern.
