  • Four types of jade:
    Type A: Natural, untreated, undergoes a traditional process, no "artificial treatments", "true" color.
    Type B: Chemically bleached to remove impurities, injected with polymer with the use of a centrifuge to enhance translucency, covered with a hard and clear plastic-like coating, subject to instability and discoloration over time because polymer gets broken down by heat or household detergent, still 100% read jade with 100% natural color.
    Type C: Chemically bleached, dyed to enhance color, subject to
    discoloration over time due to reaction with strong light, body heat, or household detergent.
    Type D: Simulated, not jade(Quartz, glass) made look like jade.

    Jade is so confusing. I got a pendant from my mom so it really doesn't matter if it's real or not because it's a gift and is set in 18k real yellow gold. I ought to be cautious if i were to buy 1 myself.

    Many years ago, I was hurrying to catch a plane from Hawai'i, in Honolulu International Airport. There was this item, on the floor & people who were hurrying to catch a plane, like me, were kicking it, not realizing what it was. I picked it up. It was an Imperial Jade bangle bracelet. I had it for 10 years when I decided to take it to a gemologist who had appraised some jade for a friend of mine. When I told him how I found it in the airport, he was shocked, his face went pale. It's probably worth around $850.

      Depends! There should be local appraisal lab in your area that can get that for you! But it usually depends on the carat weight, what kind of setting it's in (if there is a setting). Anywhere from 100-300 I would say depending on where you go!

      my last video is about how to understand if a stone is orginal jade stone. To find out if the jade stone is real or fake. First of all, attach a hair strand to jade stone. look with a lighter see how it reacts. If this stone is a real jade stone, this strand of hair will not burn. there is only the soot of the (fire of ) lighter on stone. Even when you can clean soot with your hand, and soot goes away.

    Hpakant in Kachin State, Myanmar is where I was born. The place looks a total different from how it was 20 years ago. Foreigners are not allowed to go to Hpakant. However, almost all Jade mining companies there are Chinese-owned companies. They do not care the tremondous harzards they have done to the environment in Hpakant. I even doubt that the demage is repairable. This is just one example.

    Although he works with jade; he doesnt seem to Reckognize the difference between Granulated vrs Stranded;
    Jadite = Granulated Jade.
    Nephrite = Stranded Jade.
    All those Bracelets, Clearly are of the Nephrite catagory. So they have to be Graded according to that catagory.
    A Low quality Nephrite, Appears Very much as the High Quality Jadite-jade; because Jadite is noticeably granulated Crystal's connected, Unlike Strands that Create a Singular Body effect!

    Jade is not really that beautiful of a stone. Even the high grade ones. I prefer rubies and sapphites.
