Many people buy low quality jade and don’t appreciate the real beauty of good quality jadeite. Low quality jadeite is opaque with a lot of inclusions (cotton patches). Light doesn’t pass through it, looks dull. But a good quality piece of jadeite is translucent, allowing light to pass through. It’s radiant, and lustrous. The more you wear a piece of good quality jadeite, the more attractive and lustrous it becomes. Jadeite is a very magical, special stone in my opinion. A living material.
Hi Dash, i agree with you, jade is one of the most underated gemstone in my opinion. it also depends on if its the nephrite or jadeite category, many of the imperial jade found in the forbidden city worn by the Emperors themselves falls under the nephrite category which is not translucent but like the original nephrite category. They are appreciated for their colour and the lustre, almost like pearls. thank you again for dropping by to watch and leave a comment, truly appreciated. 🙏🙏

Hello Aileen. Greetings from Wales, UK. I have really enjoyed this video. I found it very informative. I have acquired some Jade recently and so I have been studying it and applying your knowledge. I enjoyed your video on jade. I have a white jade bangle bracelet that my husband bought for me over 50 years ago. I no longer can get the bangle over my hand so I'm considering having it cut by a gem cutter and having the gold hinged clasp put on. I know it's suppose to be bad luck to wear a broken piece of jade but it's the only way that I can enjoy wearing it again. Do you have any thoughts on purposely having the jade cut rather than accidentally breaking the bangle?
Breaking bangle will decrease your investment and reduces the heirloom factor. This video has already said breaking bangles is sign of misfortune and it’s TABOO to buy/sell broken bangle to others.. culturally there are more cons to pros in breaking your bangle, so if you’re ready to keep it to yourself then enjoy it how you see fit !

Hi Danny Lee, thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Thank you for sharing about the Han jade, i learn something new everytime, from what i decipher, it was a term used during the Han dynasty and over time, it has turned into sort of a mottled yellowish tone, which was used more as an ornamental jade for decorative purposes or for funerary jade. i would say jade from that period is more under the nephrite category.
Yes i do love yellow jade the most, its called muttonfat jade, i do have a few videos on them. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. truly appreciated. 🙏

How about the name Han jade? I heard some people sell jade in that name. Han jade belongs to which nephrite or jadiete?
Hi Danny Lee, thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Thank you for sharing about the Han jade, i learn something new everytime, from what i decipher, it was a term used during the Han dynasty and over time, it has turned into sort of a mottled yellowish tone, which was used more as an ornamental jade for decorative purposes or for funerary jade. i would say jade from that period is more under the nephrite category.
I forgot to tell you that I have an emerald green bangle. 1 emerald green necklace and 1 light green necklace. I can send you a photo if you want.
What about yellow jade?
Yes i do love yellow jade the most, its called muttonfat jade, i do have a few videos on them. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. truly appreciated. 🙏

Where's the sound?
Thanks for watching and letting me know, i think the sound in the beginning was dubbed out by the music that i downloaded, but the speaking parts have sound.
Not going to lie I wish jewelry shopping was more like it was an ancient times easier to see what you're getting instead of going online 😂
Thank you for dropping by to watch and leave a comment, yes i prefer the antique jade, they are much more better made. I have just recently done a new video on how to care for jade. Hope you check it out when you have the time. 🙏
I Have jade
jadeite from what I've seen on TH-cam were used in Chinese empire years ago were actually jadeite...
Most of the drama depictions used jadeite however, it is recorded in the historical books that jadeite was only discovered in the modern age and the pieces of jade displayed till today in the imperial palace are all nephrite. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.🙏
