“Now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything”. So much said in those few words 🥺. Grunge music is the best music, lyrically. Eddie must be protected at all costs❤️🔥❤️🔥.
the line "I know some day you'll have a beautiful life. I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky. But why, why, WHY can't it be, can't it be mine." I remember hearing that line (driving back from the county fair) with my then girlfriend. It was at the end of our relationship, and we both knew it. That line was my sentiment at the time, and embodied my thoughts throughout the remainder of our relationship. It's almost like at that moment, that lyric evolved me from an adolescent to a young adult.
@@Sweep_The_Leg_Johnny my favorite line also!
The last decent grunge vocalist
@@dan.j.boydzkreationz decent you mean incredible his vocals are epic
I also love the line “All the loves gone bad”. Umph! Such powerful lyrics in this whole song. Beautiful and Eddie killed it.
Why the hell would somebody watch a reaction, and complain about your genuine reaction? Homewood thank you for being genuine
I love Eddie Vedder. One of a kind voice and this live was incredible.
Dude! Don't apologize for singing along, the whole point of these videos is to see ya'll enjoying some music and singing along just means you're enjoying the hell out of it. Just keep up the good work and if I may suggest, check out some more Queens Of The Stone Age when you get a chance, they really are an underrated band. The song Better Living Through Chemistry would be a great one to hit.
Yup more QOTSA beyond their singles would be great!
@@MrBurnsy81 Yeah, I honestly believe they don't have a bad song. Very few I don't love but even those I wouldn't consider bad.
Exactly!!!!!
Hell we all sing along too, don't lie
I was one of the people thinking "STOP SINGING DUDE", then realized I was just mad because I couldn't hear myself singing along too...🤦🏻♂️😂😂😂
Don't EVER apologize for vibing with the music!!!
This song is the most powerful song in my particular life. Came out when my GF passed in a car accident. Happened 30 years ago already, but this song makes it feel like yesterday.
Shit man. What happened did you marry or what man?
I'm sorry for your loss 😔 ❤🙏
This is my favorite song of all time. I love Eddie more than I should. Lyrically, to me, he is the greatest song writer. I fkn love Pearl Jam. They play basketball, watch sports, write crushing songs, and they are the best live band of all time.
You've got to EXPERIENCE "PORCH" live from PINKPOP FESTIVAL 92. You have to witness EDDIES ICONIC 20' STAGE DIVE. 🤯
This song was played at a friend of mine's funeral in 1997. He was murdered. He was 20...every time I hear this I can see the funeral in my mind again. It was one of his favourites.
I am SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. Prayers for comfort and Peace for the friends and family of your friend. I hope she form of Justice has been found.
Edit to add: i just reread that your friend was murdered, man, and I've lost a few people to murder myself. Violent loss is the hardest to get over.. I'm sorry for your loss.
I can remember the funeral songs of some of the friends wherein I actually attended their funerals. Which if I'm being honest I haven't been to a lot of them because we've been racking up multiple losses per year since middle school in terrible ways. Anyway, I can remember they played "Let her Cry" by Hootie at Kenny's funeral and they played "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan at my friend Robin's funeral while her 16yo daughter sobbed over her urn after she shot herself. I tend to just blast People Who've Died by Jim Carroll whenever I'm deep in my feels about everyone that's gone.
My brother has simply requested I show up with a loud speaker and play the Imperial Death March as his casket is being carried out.
@@icefacade It's one of those songs for sure.
It was a friend from youth, so long ago, I remember more about his funeral and how he died now than anything else...which is strange. This song was played and I don't think anyone there could stop crying.
He was killed by a couple of teenagers who thought it would be fun to ambush the pizza delivery guy, and he ended up getting stabbed in the neck. He was 20, the kid who stabbed him was 15. It's so crazy - the shockwaves from that night are still reverberating.
And this song brings all that to mind.
@@pdog547 people kill for such selfish and stupid reasons. I lost a classmate in middle school because his dad wanted the insurance money. I lost a friend who was shot twice in the face during a gas station robbery when she asked the robber to please let her keep the bracelet her grandchildren made for her - when I rode past the station after work that night I saw the whole place wrapped up with police tape and cars there and I remember thinking "I hope Margie didn't get too shook up." that sticks with you. The worst one, though, was in high school when my friend was murdered by my classmate and my best friend's twin brother was involved. Talk about reverberations, my two daughters know they can have as much freedom as they deserve but i'm going to need to know where they are at all times because I need to be able to follow a GPS blip going away from where they should be if something happens and they're not answering me to find out why. I have to be able to call the cops while I'm on the way to intersect the blip and whoever has them better hope to god the police get to them before I do. I can't deal with the thought of having to put their face on a missing poster stuck to every store door after they disappear a week before their 16th birthday and the car waiting in the driveway for them, I can't wait for months for the murderer to get caught forging stolen checks so my daughter's body is finally located with her skull 7 feet away because a pipe bomb was put in her mouth after she'd been knocked unconscious. Ugh. I couldn't go to Melanie's funeral because it was swarmed by press vultures and drama seekers so I have no idea what songs they played for her.
The first time I heard this song, I was voluntarily in a big trunk of a car with a friend named Andy. We were going to a party, not enough room in the car, so the trunk it was! That was in 1991 and I was 20yo! I was on a hit of acid! Andy had a flashlight and was pointing it at his face and he was lip-synching to it perfectly. the speakers were near our ears, loud, and it was freaking me out in the best way. I will always associate this song with that experience!
What a cool story
@@SJC_Construct It was a fun time!
*You may think I'm crazy but, "Grunge" saved me. Chris Cornell continues to be my light in the darkness💚*
Seek the word of Jesus.
Me too, was extremely lonely and moving a lot. grunge was my friend
Grunge definitely saved me as well. xoxo

I sang along for years and years til I actually looked into the lyrics. It brings tears to your eyes when you hear the emotion behind those words. This song requires a deep dive into the lyrics!
The thing that makes this performance even better is the fact that Eddie was sick with either the flu or a cold at the time and he still sounded phenomenal.
Same with David and the sound of silence
Or it's just bullshit you ppl spread on the internet on virtually every live performance of any artist out there. It's so weird...like clock work here comes the other guy to tell us about the sound of silence performance that is every other comment lol. None of you have any idea
Emotion out the ass… this performance is just full of passion and true grit and excellence. Eddie Vedder is another iconic voice, from that grunge era and a true legend in his own right
Yes!!
I love how Hollywood reacts when a song just fills his heart. And don't worry about talking/singing. That's just what people do when they like music 😊
The raw emotion in this performance is moving. Great as always!
Hollywood I felt this song just like you did. Fire! You sing along as much as you want. 😌
This chick broke his heart big time the song was so emotional for him he wasn’t going to release it. Thankfully they did it’s one of the best songs of all time. Best part is where he says “all I ever taught her was Everything, “ and then he adds “that’s all” as a whisper which he only does that’s all live version. So good. Grunge is the best I’m so proud and fortunate I grew up on it.
You guys have no idea how much this video put a smile on my face. This is one of my favorite songs ever. I lost my 16 year old cat Pineapple a year ago today so I really needed this, thank you.
When I lost one of my puppies it was Pearl Jam's "SIRENS" that made my cry. Be careful listening to that cos that may bring memories from Pineapple back.
Awww Pineapple.. how cute. Hugs and rip Pineapple ❣️
@@TammyM36 aww thank you ma'am

I lost first dog ever Masón of 9 years he was with us, he was super Loyal and protective of me. He passed away after I listened to the vet and had him vaxed whilst he had cáncer, not a good mix.
2 months later I had my only son and he it was a great distracion to losing my first pet which hurt me and my husband really bad. I still miss masón
Never apologize for feeling the music. Sing on Hollywood.
Hollywood, you sing if you want to sing. This is a reaction channel, not a sit still and listen channel. If the song makes you want to sing, then that's part of the reaction.
Hell ya!
Part of the reason it sounded different is because Eddie Vedder was recovering from bronchitis.
This is one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs. I loved seeing you so hyped about it! I don't mind the singing along.
This performance should be in the library of Congress. if it isn’t there already.
Tattooed everything : All the memories of that relationship are tattooed in his mind. At least that’s my take on it. Eddie said this song is about letting go.
Hey guys my name is Shawn and I’ve watched this video time and time again, but tonight I wanted to look this video up again for some laughter, cause I love love love your guys’ vibe always cheers me up. I’m sorry the reason I looked this particular video up tonight is because I had to say “I’ll see you later” to the best Aunt ever tonight. She has past on into Gods hands tonight. So I dedicate this video to my Aunt Skeet. May you Rest In Peace. I love singing this song and now it has so much more meaning to it. Thank you guys for all that you do. Love y’all.
Pearl Jam - Animal / Rockin’ In The Free World w Neil Young (Live @ 1993 MTV Music Awards)
He was actually sick in this performance with the flu or some bad respiratory infection and made it even harder for him to belt it out, but he pulled it off beautifully!
Found it lol, every live performance from any band or lead singer someone I'd typing this crap! Unreal
@@joesmith5097haha😂😂😂
One if the best voices when he sings you know exactly who it is
This is the best ever unplugged performance.. His voice gives me chicken skin. The lyrics are so deep
This is second to Alice In Chains but yeah
"Oh... is this the song?" Oh yes... it is indeed the song!😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Hollywood-never change man, your singing along made this reaction. I can’t help myself but blast my lungs to this track. You felt the vibes, never have to excuse that.
Big love to you both
Never apologize for getting into it and singing! And shout out to your mom. Great reaction. Love can make all things seem more colorful, when that love is gone, it feels like your world has lost all color ( or tattooed black).
my then girlfriend entered a contest on a radiostation,
you had to make a albumcover from the third album vitalogy.. she did and won that contest..
first prize.. a pearl jam concert in austalie!!..best ever...
Kool!
There's a movie from 1992 called 'Singles' that was about growing up in Seattle as a Gen-X'er, and it's soundtrack is amazing. There are several songs that were only available on this album, for the longest time. I highly recommend:
* Pearl Jam - State of Love and Trust
Pearl Jam - Breathe
Soundgarden - Birth Ritual
Chris Cornell - Seasons
Mother Love Bone - Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns
Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You
* I'd start with this one :)
love this movie!
No “Touch Me, I’m Dick” by Citizen Dick? 😆
@@ShanLH5 Cliff Poncier, explaining the meaning of the song: “I think a lot of people might think it’s actually about, you know, ‘My name is Dick, and, you know, you can touch me,’ but, I think, you know, it can be seen either way.”
@@Kevin_Fiol yes his explanation kills me 😂😂😂 I love how they read that review about themselves in the paper… everything negative in the review is about him, but the rest of the band gets praised
Eddie Vedder: “a compliment for us is a compliment for you!” 😆
I love that soundtrack! Especially mother love bone! Kool!!
Here's a suggestion for another Pearl Jam song. The crowd interaction makes this one amazing.. The song is BetterMan, and the video is the from Madison Square Garden in 2010..
Here's the link:

Oh yes please! That’s my favourite, and Daughter, no one reacts to those two, and I don’t know why?
Dude, your pitch was RIGHT ON and it actually added to the song rather than detracted!! And THAT’S saying something. Lol. Love your passion and seeing kids your age appreciate this music is the best! I was in my 20s when they came out and remember where i was when i heard them for the first time. Life changing. SO happy to see your generation get it too.
Sadly, sound does not travel through space. Because "sound" is vibrating air, and there is no air in space (vacuum). However, light waves DO travel forever.
Ummm, you might wanna look that up my friend.
Muse is a very OLD term. It also has a real definition...
"As a noun, it means a person - especially a woman - who is a source of artistic inspiration. In mythology, the Muses were nine goddesses who symbolized the arts and sciences. Today, a muse is a person who serves as an artist's inspiration. Often filmmakers talk about a certain actor being a muse - meaning the actor inspired a movie."
His voice is so unique that you end up thinking bout your past and memories 😭🤌 it’s THAT good!
I saw them play in Little Rock a long long time ago. When they did this one, I started crying. I’m not one for frequent weeping, much less public weeping, but with the lyrics and emotion, I couldn’t help it. Like Shan5 said, this is about a break up. Check out “Porch”. They have many good ones: “Corduroy”, “Garden”, “Animal”. Thanks for reacting to this one.
Oh I’m one for weeping at pretty much everything, Linda 😩😆 This one gives me a serious bawling, therapeutic cry haha
Porch is one of my favorites 😊
Same..I always used to cry at this song! It's packed full of raw emotion!!❤️
Oh, that song hurts. Been in love with a girl for almost 20 years, we were close friends and did everything together, until 4 years ago, when I told her about my feelings for her and I haven't seen her since! She didn't take it well. I know she'll be a star in somebody else sky, but mon Dieu, I miss her so much and I'm sad she doesn't want my love. She just doesn't see we are soulmates and that we belong together. I used to get drunk and listen on repeat. I moved on. Anyway - this song is so powerfull and Eddies performance...you really feel him!
As soon as you started humming Hollywood, I knew that you knew it. This is one of my favorite Pearl Jam songs too.
30 years later and it still gives me goosebumps
I was fortunate enough to see them when they played at what was Safeco Field in Seattle back in 2018. They were the only band that played and they play for almost 4 hours straight. So insane.
Wow!
As much as I liked your reaction I would’ve loved if you checked the lyrics, as good as the song is, it’s heartbreaking and has beautiful lyrics that Eddie delivers with such emotion that never fails to give one chills, nevertheless I loved how much you felt the song, great work guys!
Tell me who among us hasn't felt "I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky, But why, Why, Why can't it be, Oh can't it be mine".
Slaughter To Prevail!!!!!! BRATVA one of the hardest
“Oh the pictures have
All been washed in black
Tattooed everything”
It’s about a fading memory.
Seeing Hollywood so excited about this made me enjoy it even more if that's even possible... haha!
My favorite Pearl Jam song. Amazing. Love this performance.
Thank you for doing this. It's a great song and hearing you go off gave me a huge smile.
Love your enthusiasm for this song, brother! Had me smiling the whole time.
Gave me goosebumps seeing 6ix react to this one ...if you like this one.... then you need to get on some yellowledbetter.....the best pearl jam song ever!!!
^^THIS^^ The song came out as a b-side that they didn't expect to go anywhere. The fans loved it so much but couldn't find the lyrics anywhere. Eddie mumbles so bad that to this day it is a popular misheard lyrics videos on TH-cam. When asked, Eddie said "Wait...you mean there's lyrics?" The studio version is the best but any concert version is great because it is never the same. Eddie changes up the words and Mike's guitar solo at the end it always different. They usually play this at the end of a concert and when Mike's final guitar solo starts, the band puts down their instruments and lets him soar.
He is bleeding his heart out! These emotions… breathtaking
Ps: what a cool mum you have ♥️
I always felt it was holding a broken picture of a first love. You give a lot, everything to that first one. When you lose that love, all that time and effort put in. You reevaluate what love means
Black is my favorite song of all time. I grew up as a young teen in the 90's and this song has taken me through so many bad times in my life. I literally tear up to these lyrics today. The line to me means that when you love someone so much that the feeling you have for eachother leaves a permanent mark on you as if it was a Tattoo. Even with the loss of that love, everything you have gained from that relationship will be with you forever. Thank you for this reaction and defiently check out more music from this unplugged live. Soooo good.
The greatest live performace.. ever... EVER! One guy on a chair, pouring his heart out and giving you all that he has... the intensity, the emotion, that passion, that pain, that unparalleled voice..the lyrics.. this man...this band...ohhh.it's wizardry.
It gets me every time.Always brakes me. This performance is going to hunt me forever. My favorite band, my favorite singer. What they gave to me trough all these years.. man.. there are no words to explain that.
You should check out Jeremy by Pearl Jam(song about horrific true events) , uncensored video or mtv unplugged version(both are great). That's kind of obligatory when it comes to Pear Jam.
Great reaction, so natural. I loved it. You felt that. I am a proud subsriber now.
Y'all should check out the documentary "Hype!" - It's about the early grunge movement in Seattle, and the soundtrack is insane
I’ve always loved Eddie Vedder voice, the first time I heard this song on the radio I fell in love, but once I heard the unplugged version, I broke down, lost a girl to similar way, so this one hit really close to me. I’m glad you all finally got to listen to this version cause it really is a master piece.
I'm glad to see you jam out. That's why I'm here man. I love to see people enjoy things I love.
There were a lot of people singing on this side of the screen too.
I loved seeing your guys reaction to this ❤️
Thank you for your enthusiasm, Hollywood. I can't get through this song without singing along either. 💙 from Texas!
My favorite Pearl Jam song!
Hollywood, sing on brother!! Just means you feel it! No complaints here man enjoy!
You two are such great dudes, thanks for the videos
This is absolutely one of the best live performances ever recorded.
This is without a doubt a top 5 live performance for me and I do not know if one is better but the emotion pouring out Eddie Vedder make me want this girl back.
My next reaction video: Hollywood_6ix covers Pearl Jam 🤣 Love you guys!
I have not watched you reaction yet, but just the into where Hollywood shares his excitement after hearing the intro to the song. I first watched this live performance back when it came out in 92. I recorded it and would invited friends over to get high and watch it and we did this over and over. I bet you Ive watched this video around 500 times, I still love it, it is one of the most extraordinary performaces Ive ever seen, Porch being the other, and when I watch Hollywoods excitement over something he is only "familiar" I get excited because I dont think he realizes just how much his mind will be blown. Maybe this goes for the dude on the right too, but he just hadnt shared hsi excitement before thee video like Hollywood did. Now, I will wi
Tattooed everything refers to how some people see life through rose colored glasses. His sight has been tattooed so everything is black.
Don't shed the Sorry I sang along!! You just have to on this one... It's mandatory.
thanks trash talkers. great song great pick.
One of the greatest singers to ever live
Being from Seattle and being a 90s kid all the grunge music brings me back. I can remember seeing a lot of these bands with my dad for free at the public stage at the Seattle Center.
Wow.. Such a blast from the past! I distinctly remember playing AND singing this song at the same time on Rock Band back in the day. I loved the singalong part of your guy's reaction, there's no shame here! 😄
I can't fault you for FEELING IT! LOVE this tune and can dance and get lost in it. Pearl Jam is all about the FEELS. I was smiling how much you enjoy and feel it as much as I do. Back in my 20's, you would have been a dude we would have loved at the rock clubs, back in the day in Toronto. We would be singing along with whatever words we thought Eddie said at the time. lol Keep On rockin!
The unplugged version they use the cradle broken glass during both verses while in the studio version the first verse says and now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds
One of the best live performances ever done... incredible, I am happy that I was a teenager at this time
The Pen on this song is pure poetry.
PLEASE do Porch Unplugged! I mean do the whole concert if you can but if you can’t, don’t miss that one 😅😅
This song holds my heart, always. Thank you so much ❤
Such an amazing performance by one of my favorite bands.
Also, don't apologize for singing. I always joke that I don't even know what Pearl Jam sounds like without me. 😆
This song brings me to tears! Please react to comfortably numb by pink Floyd, my favourite guitar solo! Maybe do a live version with an extended solo? Love you guys, your enthusiasm is infectious!
Heartache and loss, regret and yearning. Eddie bellowing out "we belong, we belong together!" in anger and sadness just hits. 💔
Man you was hitting them notes! Y’all are great keep on rolling! Smoke that is!
The emotion of this performance gives me chills every time
This song in any way that it could be interpreted is pure perfection.
Hi there. Thank you for this one 🖤
Another Pearl Jam suggestion: Dirty Frank
Hands down best INTERACTION of Black ever. Love y'all guys. God bless 😇
one of the most beautiful songs ever created
One of the best versions of this. Unplugged is the way to get the real magic to show. Thanks!
Finally!
What I'm glad to see is the rock and roll, I'm a 63-year-old Woman and I plan on listening to rock and roll to the day I die. And I'm assuming you are Georgia boys because of the sports you show on your shirts and hats. I love y'all's reactions, keep up the good work. 70s and 80s best times of my life.
The Best Unplugged period in my opinion! The passion is amazing! He puts his feelings right out there! I love it! ❤ Alice in Chains Nutshell is number 2! I feel the exact same way Hollywood! It's one of the most beautiful songs EVER! It means his whole world turned black when she left! Like a tattoo covering everything!
Your happiness was everything!!!! Thank you!
Absolutely love this. Don’t apologize for shit. It was fantastic. It was so honest and authentic man. Love this shit.
First video of yours that I've watched and I really dug on this! I'm from Washington state, up by Seattle. Born and raised up here.
Love these tunes, man! It's good stuff. :)
I ❤️ GRUNGE!! Pearl Jam my favorite band on this planet!! Your reactions are awesome!! Thank you for sharing this awesome video, no apologizing I love it when people sing, I loved your reactions guys!! 😊💓🤘✌️
One of my favorite performances!!! So much emotion!! Yes tattooed everything leaving a life long permanent mark on him 👏🏼Thank you for the reaction guys. Still gotta check out Puscifer ‘s “A Singularity” 🤯
It was great seeing you singing along man. I was singing along to 👍
