Hey Manny.........after three attempts of flying my Bigfoot on my DX6e I crashed. Glue is a wonderful thing. I am thinking of getting RF.....hate to spend the money for it but in the long run. Thanks for video

Buck, honestly I never really much stock in the sims, but I have to admit, there is something to be said about them now. If you have the means, the extra practice will absolutely help.

I bought this software a few months ago. Just tried it out a few minutes and boy do I suck at RC! So glad I haven't even attempted to fly any of the expensive EDF jets I bought. Definitely need to buy an expendable starter plane as this ain't like flying a drone on GPS.

Richard, just getting into the world of RC Planes!?! I am very excited for you. As for those expensive jets, I would definitely try to get some muscle memory built up with the sim, and getting a starter plane like the apprentice, or the Habu STS will be a great way to build your confidence and orientation. Remember to have fun, even if you do crash. It is all part of the hobby. Have a great time. Cheers.

I use this simulator using VR oculus quest 2. 100% better than using a monitor

You can make it more realistic by dial in wind, you can adjust the direction and windspeed, also you can dial in turbulence.
Also you can adjust the plane vunerability , cg and much more , it makes it more realistic , this way I has learn to fly on my own this way

Oekloek thanks for checking out my vid. You are absolutely right about dialing in the effects, and the vulnerability of the plane. This is a great training tool for sure.

Manny, I have set up as you with exception I'm using the wireless dongle. My question to you did you set the software up to put all switches for Retracts, Flaps, Dual Rates, Smoke, Bomb Doors for your Transmitter? That is what I'm working on right now. But I learned a lot from watching your video. Thanks in advance Manny! ;)

    • @RCPlaneAddict
      @RCPlaneAddict  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Richard, thanks for checking out the video. I believe I did set up the remote with retracts, and flaps, as well as the gyro with AS3X. But most of the time I just use the sim for orientation, and practice on my landings. Let me know if you have any questions and I am glad that I could help. Cheers.

Hi. Thanks for a great video.
Your using NX8 with RF9.5. In Spektrums specification iťs only compatible with RF 8.0 and 9.0.
    Did it connect without problem?

You did a great job, they gave me a different outlook on simulators. 🤔 The only problem I have is all my devices are Apple (Mac) 😔

Hi Will, Thanks for checking out my Channel. Unfortunately, right now this sim is only available for PC. Not sure if one flight sim is worth the price of PC, but hopefully they will have something for Mac in the furture.

If you don't have an M1 Mac, you can use bootcamp to install windows onto it as a secondary OS. This should allow you to use the software on your Mac then.

@@thedoeverything418 Parellels is the software. The only downside with it is that it runs at the same time that MacOS is running, so your available performance is cut down pretty good. The system requirements aren't that intense, so you might be able to get away with a Mac from that past few years while running Parallels. The other option that I replied to William with is to use bootcamp on an Intel based Mac.
EDIT: I just bought the controller/RealFlight package off Amazon that should show up tomorrow. I might try it on Parallels (already own it) on my M1 MacBook Air and see how it works.

LostISpace, thanks for checking out my vid. Honestly, that is a hard question to answer. I do not know how much RF has improved through the versions, but having the latest is always a benefit. I say if you are in the market for it, then yes. They have a bunch of great training areas, but I find the tutorials limited. If you can find someone to actually teach you, that would be the best route, RF would help to refine your training. Hope this helps.

I own RF 7.5 and bought RF 9.5 on steam. Immediately got refund after just a few minutes as there is pretty much no reason to pay that much money for what is essentially the same product with more planes. They could have simply patched these planes into RF7.5 for twenty bucks, but they would certainly rather put it out on its own and get full retail price again. Looked good, planes were nice, but at the end of the day it just didn't justify the expense of purchase, not even close.

Shelby, thanks for checking out my content, and at the end of the day is any of this really necessary. I call this my therapy, especially during this time. However, I do agree with you, the new version probably does not have enough new content to justify another $100 purchase. I never had one, so I thought I'd try it out. Happy Flying.

@@RCPlaneAddict I wasn't saying anything negative about you having 9.5 by a longshot. I think that is why most people are into this hobby, or really any hobby for that matter. At the end of the day very little is necessary, meant nothing against you at all, sorry if you seem to have taken it somewhat that way. I was merely trying to give my experience for the benefit of others, same as you were, sir.
Maybe I just read your reply a little weird, written words can be read into a totally different context at times by others.
