Josh, I appreciate your channel. I am 49 and roughly 80 percent paralyzed due to multiple sclerosis. I can use my left hand and move my head and still talk. I have always loved history. I spend the majority of my time watching history documentaries and listening to your channel and a couple more. I just wanted to tell you thanks for the information it definitely helps pass the time.

I'm 49 as well. 1974. I have several injuries that made me stop being a mechanic and work in the parts department but nothing near what you have. History is awesome and I don't understand it when people say they don't like it. They are the ones who have something wrong with them! Just wanted to drop a line my friend. Hope you have a great day and many more to come.

Try I ver mec ton, or fenbinzadal those are anti perisitic drugs, but some researchers say they will help, I read some researchers think others researchers are clueless about what causes multiple sclerosis. Get at veterinarian 2cc every 2 weeks. I started taking mecton during covid, my skin cancer is going away. There was a man some years ago in Oklahoma that had terminal lung cancer, doctors said nothing more they could do, his vet friend gave him fenbinzadal and a list of vitamins and canibis oil, cancer free in a few months. It's on the internet if you search.

Same applies here m8_meaning that I would love to come to your side of the world!! "Stories"? I presume you mean history? Lol. Well I have them too. I was an archæological site supervisor,on Anglesey/Ynys Môn, & Gwynedd (the county unit),for about 10 years. So when I say the "druid isle" I mean it & know it! Village I live in is place where Romans crossed onto the island to finish off the druids! It's in TACITUS ' book the AGRICOLA. ?? DRUIDS dressed in white & invocating, long haired women ,dressed in black, running about with flaming torches,&c. I'm 500 yards from fields Romans & Celts had their battle. I surveyed & field walked them as part of my job. LONG ARMY FIELD & FIELD OF BITTER TEARS,are English translation of names they're still called! (I won't give you the Welsh lol. Enough to say Wales or Wild West...I don't care! I just love history! ALL OF IT!!

I had to pause this abot 1/2 way throgh. You mentioned Gen. Crook . He had a doctor named Porter w/ him. This same doc. was with Reno at the greasy grass . He , this gets very deep very fast . Doc Porter said Custer shot himself with a .41 colt double action . He doug the bullet out of the back of his head. Colt sent three of these revolers to the 7th , Long Hair had one , the gen in charge ft the whole campain had one and the doc had the third one . The doc put the bullet from long hairs head in the muzzel of his revolver , it fit and had the same pointed shape . long hair had been shot throuth the shoulder but in his view it would not have been fatal unless it got infected. Dr. Porter was the doc at the birth of this man . Doc told him not to say anything about this untill Mrs. Custer died . The clues here , 1878 colt the .41 cal and the doc was a man well known by the army. He was with reno ! N. Dakota doc. maybe south. I am old now . Thes clues may lead you to a very good story. Thanks for your work . And , Hoka Hay !!

There was a story Custer carried a double action British Bulldog " type" pattern revolver. So it is very possible he carried this experimental type revolver from Colt. Since Dr Porter was a very honest person, I believe Custer did shoot himself not wanting g to be taken alive and wounded by the hostile. The British Bulldog type double action was mistaken as the Colt was an experimental prototype from that pistol.

@@tbcoachniblick1208 The revolver was model 1878 i think , there was a 38 and a 41 cal. lightning ? and thunderer . billy the kid had one . i know not witch. It was enemac as the bullet did not exit , but left a bump on the other side of his head , this the Doc. , , excavated ? I believe this story to be true . Doc. Porter delivered the man that brought forth this story. i can not recall his name . this from about 60 yr,s ago. Happy trails . Gary

Tom Horn is someone I haven't heard a whole lot about compared to the likes of Billy the Kid and Jim Bridger. When you said at the beginning that Tom's dog was killed, I thought he was going to go all John Wick on us. Speaking of dogs, I just finished a write-up on the Conner-Low-Smith Feud of Sabine County, Texas. There was a battle with the Texas Rangers in which the Conners defeated them using their hunting dogs. The State of Texas brought their own trail dogs in from Huntsville Prison to hunt them down but were unsuccessful in the big thickets of East Texas.

And finding info on specific events more than 100 years old is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But the details you brought to this story showed me you didn't find all the needles, but found plenty of them. That info rounded your tale out nicely. You should do an over view of the magnificent seven remake with Denzel. Id love to hear your opinion on the character depictions , who they we're in the movie based on on who they actually were in real life there lives and background and how well or bad did the movie depict these characters like tom horn, and goodnight. How realistic is the storyline, was it based on something similar. Something like that. Either way love this vid all your work and cant wait for future vids but for real a magnificent 7 video would be sick and would love to hear your take and research on the subject.

If you read the biographys of General Crook, Lieutenant Gatewood and Al Sieber, you’ll get a pretty good idea of the Apache wars down here and what went on. Horn is never mentioned in any prominent way. Sounds like he had a pretty high opinion of himself in regards to his part in the Apache wars, but no one else did. Good roper though, he won the steer roping at Cheyenne.

I never understood why they didn't just kill him. He was only one man. As soon as they saw him, he was there to kill someone. As for stealing cows, it looks like both sides, the poor and the rich were both stealing cows. That is why no one wanted barb wire, from what I have read.

@@WildWestExtravaganza I understand the immigrants, who couldn't swim or own firearms. But some of the people who fought the Indians and bandits, I don't see why they didn't just light him up. Kind of like Deacon Jim, they took him from jail and hanged him. The only card I can see he had to play was telling who his employers were. Most places you are just as guilty for hiring a murder as doing it. Some states, you rob a gas station, and it goes bad, some gets killed, you are guilty just for being with them. I do think that was part of Horn's problem, you are looking after the Johnson Co. Cattle war and what a nightmare that ended in. I believe the big ranchers may have set him up on this killing and sacrificed to cool every bodies jets. It is just a thought.

I used to think Tom Horn was a pretty cool character but history tells another story. That of a psychopath and a habitual liar. Probably created by his parents. He murdered several innocent men in cold blood, preferring to shoot from cover when the victims weren't expecting it.

BTW, Cibeque is pronounced "C.B.Q." As an Alaskan Native artist, I attended Native Art School in Santa Fe, NM, 97-99 and I had two fellow students that are White Mountain Apache and we laughed at being long-lost cousins (we share the same language, but I dropped my understanding and accent in 3rd Grade in Tacoma, WA), but mispronunciation of their names is a kind of cultural insult (I can put you in touch with at least one of them if interested.), for reference, it would be like hearing someone pronounce Lincoln as "Link Colon", or Washington as "Washing-A-Tons....of clothes, I guess", Ted Roosevelt as "Tied-Door Rose-sea-felt" or even Thomas Jefferson as "Tomb...Toes....Two-mace Jeff's-a-sin". At first, it's heard in light humor, but by the tenth time hearing mispronunciation is annoying and after three sessions of putting everything else aside to focus on simple, accurate pronunciation the eleventh time is noted as an insult that makes the next episode avoided.

you say he is exaggerating about his achievements. Maybe he is. Maybe it is just the way how he remembers.
Or...there is a saying: It looks like a duck, it quacks like a duck, it is a duck.
Maybe as packer Horn was thinking he was doing the same thing all the fine people are doing. So he saw himself as one of them and not just as a packer. As you at the end say when talking about his deadliness you say that he was send to check for farms and send on patrol. Hard to say someone is just a packer when sending on patrol where he had real shootouts and not just the chance to get shot at.
Meaning from his point he does all what the scouts does. So he is a scout. Just under another name.
And as he later becomes a scout all this becomes maybe blurry in his memory. He was doing scout work so to him in his memory he probably also was already a scout.
I doubt he wrote a resume and kept it updated to send it in with new employers.
Who knows what really happened. And who knows if he was a boaster. It's just that these wrong statements could also be honest statements.
And cool vid. Love your vids. The way you tell the stories you bring life to them.

You said the battle of “big dry wash” (I think it was called) was the last Apache battle to happen on U.S. soil. Honest question, was there Apache battles elsewhere? Great topic, bye the way, separated from Hollywood, just the truth. .

Last major Apache battle. There were raids and skirmishes after, and the Army would clash with the Apache in Mexico.
