- Well, here's the Cyberpunk 2077 Police Behavior Analysis video! If you thought Mafia III Police AI was bad, watch this. Some interesting features here and there but that's it.
This analysis is for the 1.0 version of the game.
As always, this video is not commentary and if you have any feedback, suggestions, etc, please do let me know in the comments section! Alternatively, you can join my Discord Server. I think Bethesda could come up with a police system better than this.

Obviously they are competent game devs, they had some fails but they competent enough to make something good, not JUST better than this.

Hell Oblivions wanted system is better than Cyberpunks. Guards chase you into literal Oblivion while cyber cops give up on the first block.

I don't think a behavior analysis is needed as it simply doesn't exist. But again, great video as always!

Potato Police. They can't even use their car to chase you. They magically spawn right next to you. They have to fix this!
There is no fixing that. The whole system is half baked and will never change.
They can patch out bugs and glitches. But they can’t fix something so fundamentally broke.
The instant spawning no matter where you are is unforgiveable. Why did CDPR think that was acceptable?
I loved how that if I backed myself in a corridor police could still spawn behind me, the police in this game Is so shit. Completely unacceptable behavior

Honestly man this game is disgraceful. Such a disappointment. It puts into perspective how astonishing a game like red dead redemption 2 really is.
Now that CDPR has revealed the official overhaul of the wanted system as of August 24, 2023, this video is due for a remake.
A side by side comparison would be cool as its a huge improvement complete with passive car patrols, vehicle responses when wanted, a new APC for SWAT, and MAXTAC finally getting airdropped in as a squad of mini-bosses. And no, killing them only sends more.
If the remade police system is worth a remade video, sure. Side by side comparison won't be needed as this video will stay. One can compare this video with the new one whenever that comes.
Let me just talk about red dead redemption 2 wanted system. So you got witnesses, witnesses have 3 stages, if they saw you doing a crime with a mask, if they just caught the body, and of course if they see you without mask commiting the crime which is the worst. The first two options you can come back and almost of the time you are alowed to have a talk with the cops and get out of there. You can also do petty crimes like fighting shooting to the air or vandalizing and the cops have also a stage where they kick you out of the spot with no repercussions, you can even taunt them one more time and they get this mad stage where if you dont leave immedeatly they will bust you down. There’s one more situation that is just beautiful and no one talks about: unholster your gun and follow dudes that have weapons, just follow them and dont taunt them either.. they will get mad, pull out the gun on you and shoot you after different warnings from them, you can kill them all you want in the middle of a town, everyone will run from you and the sheriff will come see what’s up but no one will do shi, because the npc pulled the gun on you first, and that’s how it went in the west.
People talked a lot of shit saying that game is just another gta, when it’s really not. And now look at this cyberpunk game. It’s so sad, it’s actually worst that gta3...
Next, you should analyse the Nazis' behaviour and the Alarm system from The Saboteur. That game contains plenty of intriguing gameplay mechanics surrounding its "Wanted" system. I think you'd love it!
The whole game just has shitty AI and combat mechanics. not even counting the bugs just the design of it all is super bad. Nobody can live out their role-play fantasies of running from bounty hunters and cyber police that was promised. It really angers me they made it so badly.
Just wait a year or so, not for CD Projekt Red to patch everything, but for the community to do it themselves with mods.

@@mateush998 those are scripted, it shows that there's a lot of dystopian sht happening in night city. Most of these jumpers are well dressed,maybe corpos. i find that pretty interesting
@@MrOscar1696 I think if these "accidents" are scripted then developers were amazingly lazy to be unable to create a basic illusion of someone's suicide act. They just dropped a guy from designed height + added a screaming sound. I think it's another bug in night city
They just spawn next to you that's so lame -_- in the newer GTA games they at least traveled to your area
I'm pretty sure in gtav tho they spawn like a few blocks away from where you are but not right fcking next to you if you know what I mean

Pretty sure this is a demo version of the AI system but because they decided to release it anyway, it was never finsihed. This seems like the barebones implementation for internal testing rather than a finished AI.
I always do unarmed combat in Cyberpunk 2077, and I was running around punching a gang, and randomly hit a civi hunkered down, and suddenly had a ton of police trying to kill me with the gang, was weird. Lol, this is a highly detailed, and amazing analysis. 10/10

Ouch Cyberpunk's police AI is basically the worst if not terrible Hell, Frickin Mafia III's Police AI and the Police AI from Driv3r are much better than this Not even Mafia III think about it

Mafia 3’s police was at least a bit innovative, they had crime scenes and also response speed varied between locations

Nice work! I am actually impressed that you got so much information, despite those flaws/simple Al. While it is a good game, I agree, for being so long in development, the police could have been really better, it looks cheap/low for a game meant to be next-gen.
Still, I find the cop cars have cool designs, don't you think? Plus, rave siren.

The one cop said "Go NPCD".. ughh.. even the voice actors were buggy in this game LOL.. the game is def fun but the police system is NOT one of the better ones... GTA 4 has it beat in terms of Police AI/Police "Wanted" System

I think Saints Row 2 has the Best Wanted System. If the player gets a Wanted Level
while on a Motorcycle, the Cops also start spawning on bikes as well.

I shot a civilian with a sniper rifle and damn she bounced off the car and vaporized, making the car go airborne.
If you have played for more than 20 minutes it isn’t even surprising anymore.

2077 is a police code for "Don't chase anyone".
I prefer they have arrest system in wanted level 1 like most of the game. Help player fight the criminal organizations.
you missed the police pursuit, is in game but is a unfinished work, you can find it in one police event in the industrial zone in the north side, don't remember the name of that zone

This is a 60 dollar AAA game from a big game studio that had made big promises and given us high expectations for years. They deserved it, just like F76. If we let it slide because it's CDPR, what's going to stop other game studios to follow suit?

2023:
Case #1: Cops are fighting gang members so I decide to help them only for both the cops and gang members to start attacking me.
Case #2: Gang members are shooting at me so I run to the cop for help (I don’t have any weapons out) only for the cop to attack me as well (wtf). Then as I start to run away I aggro all the cops in the area.
I freaking LOVE Cyberpunk 2077 but I have never seen AI this fucking bad.

Did you see my videos? There are traces of actual police patrols in the game, they just don't seem to be getting utilized properly.
I was wondering why this game had no planned player vs cop content as part of any jobs.
They never implemented anything (beyond spawning cops).
Why does the game spawn police officers in the middle of a highway with no cars, them not being with a car anywhere else is also weird

Cyberpunk 2077 is a good game IMO, but too bad that the cops AI in this game is so broken and they don't even use their cars to pursue you
I hope that the developers behind this game might gonna do something with the cops AI, to make it look more better and also I do believe that this game has a potential though
That's weird because i was outside the city limits in that starting town and i nearly ran over an NPC by accident and several police spawned and killed me, I'm almost 100% sure they were police.
The police in this game are GMOD moderators.
When you kill an NPC its like RDMing some kid on a DarkRP server.
The mods /tp to you and kill you.

Cyberpunk still make GTA, Driver, Saint Row, Mafia, Watch Dogs, Gangstar, All Points Bulletin Reloaded, Sleeping Dogs, The Gateway, Scarface : The World is Yours, The Godfather, Red Dead, True Crime, L.A Noire, Yakuza, Just Cause all suddenly better

I just wish they fixed this and had cars pursuing you and exiting their vehicle instead of spawning out of nowhere. I also wish that you didn’t get 4 stars when you only committed 4 crimes. That’s just dumb. If we at least have 4 stars when we commit more crimes than 4 crimes that would be much better. They should extend from 4 stars to 5 6 or 7 as well. It wouldn’t be much necessary and it will probably take up the screen a little, but it would be more better to add more weaker units than max tac to add to the extra stars! Then max tac will be at the final star! I also wanted helicopters for the law enforcement like in the gameplay trailer... When you start the game from the beginning, you will only begin with having limit to 1 or 2 stars! Last but not least, probably this is optional but more easier for the player. Night city police should use melee at 1 star. Which could be easier for the wanted system to the players!
If you have other good ideas, let me know. But this is just me.

Never. NCPD don't know how to ride, is unable to enter shops or use escalators. Individuals having IQ over 20 are banned from NCPD.

How hard is it for devs to NOT add double-speed or make the cops not always know where you are?
if the police don't have double speed it's usually too easy to escape them

@@maxwellmorgan even in games like watch dogs 1 where the police are insane drivers and very rarely crash unless ramming you they suffer from speed issues (and that's WITH double speed)
if you're in a fast enough car you can outrun the helicopter and the double speed chargers they send after you little effort
@@maxwellmorgan another example is need for speed 2015, the police are decent drivers but barely have any speed buffs
the result being that the police in the game are incredibly easy to outrun, even at max heat, it actually has one of the most hated wanted systems in the need for speed community just because of that

And the fact that the presence of double-speed still didn't make police in Watch Dogs difficult to outrun is simply evidence of the fact it is a flawed mechanic that is, simply put, ineffective and frustrating.

Well sure, Cyberpunk 2077 is not a Future GTA or tries to be a Mafia (and yes it is a great game in many regards), yet a proper Wanted System would be nice.
Yes, the NCPD is a bunch of corruption still just make them shooting dummies even for minor crimes is a bit inadequate. The possibility to bribe them would be nice or some kind of arrest. It does not have to be a Police Simulator but it also has not to be a stupidity simulator.
I'd love to talk with them like on Skyrim
