I lowered mine by introducing cardio and lowering my salt intake (stopped eating chips😢). Ive always been thin but have a strong family history of hypertension and a very stressful job. Lifestyle modification is king. Great video mate!

This is inspiring. I’m trying to reduce my bp, although it isn’t usually higher than high normal. I also don’t want medication. I do a lot of exercise and try to watch what I eat. I’m a normal weight. I’m 70 in April though so age is an issue and makes it more challenging. I’m finding weights and resistance exercises are a challenge however because of arthritis and aching.

I was regulary getting figures of 145/90 and that was even taking meds. The doc tried me on different pills but it didn't go down. I did a lot of reading, ditched the meds, cut out carbs and beer and added some supplements. I do a nitric oxide dump daily but should do it three times. My readings are now in the low 130's / 75 or sometimes in the 120's. There's still work to do but it's going in the right direction.

So far so good here. My main focus is no eating after 7 PM, eat three times a day, nothing in between. No, I am not on a diet, and I generally am around 115/70 and this has more to do with something that was discovered. POTS and Vasovagal Syncope have, for sure, played a louzy access to my ailments the past 6 months. Working out with heavy weights is a no-no but... I can always work with lighter weights in the home. Cardio is something I must force myself into, every day I do my walk at an RPE of around 6-7 and I get there pretty quick, and by golly I walk like an old man (61 now). But I keep going, need that crisp outside air freeze up my nostrils. The past three weeks have been challenging with the fam getting covid - my daughter got it first and she pulled through quickly and a week later my wife got it. Overall I am not the healthiest that I have been yet, but I am much better than 2.5 years ago. I am still losing weight gradually which I like. The constant dizziness had me concerned but the doctor assured it was fine to go for walks and to drive to work.

Together with exercise and reducing stres, reducing carbs to minimum is probably most esential for lifetime BP decrease. Most people today that mainly eat carbs through the day have metabolic syndrome. Carbs are number one fuel for blood sugar spikes. More carbs you eat through the day, more unvanted blood sugar spikes you make. Liver try to ged rid all that extra sugar from bood sytem, by producing more fluids. All this making pressure on the liver and also hearth and over time with constant carbs bombarding, liver and hearth start to fall in function. And this is number one recipe for high BP. By now is absolutely undenyable blood sugar spikes produced from to much carbs intake is connected with high BP. So people with high BP, should absolutely avoid carbs as much as they can. Even some fruits are dangerous, like ananas, mango and other fructose full fruits. I can comfirm all this in my case battling with high BP.

Thank you for this informative video! It’s amazing how low you got your blood pressure to be through simple modifications to your diet and workouts.
I remember watching another video about lowering high blood pressure with a plant-based diet (this one:th-cam.com/video/uHT2ttp0OWo/w-d-xo.html ), and I was wondering what you think about plant-based diets. Would you ever personally go on one?
Thank you for sharing your workout tips and your story on how you overcame your high blood pressure!

You're welcome. I wouldn't, but it might be OK for you. Also I'm not a nutritionist so not very knowledgeable enough to provide advice on diets etc.

In another video you say NO weights overhead but in this one you do bench and lat pull down- both OVER your head. ????

It's not recommended to lift weight above your head in the FRONTAL plane with high B/P. This means shoulder press/ military press/ overhead press. Lat pulldowns/ pull ups is working a muscle below the heart (lats) so the peripheral resistance is much lower as it's a bigger muscle compared to deltoids and blood isn't being pumped against gravity in the same way. I don't say you SHOULDN'T do an exercise, but explain the risk associated with it so you can choose whether to do it or not. It might be worth watching this video that will help explain: th-cam.com/video/OHVdYOggcco/w-d-xo.html

Thank you! To avoid a BP spike do I need to avoid straining for that last rep on weight lifting? Working to exhaustion I know builds muscle fastest but maybe I should avoid that last rep??? @@ExerciseForHealth

Incline press also not advised? It's overhead but not as much so as bench.

Basically if everyone followed a natural bodybuilding lifestyle from 18 to 75 wed all be healthy? But its not reality? Stress and high cortisol levels is the biggest fat gainer.?????

That's a sweeping statement. Can one way work for everyone?
