THANK YOU for posting this video my brother.....EXACTLY the video I needed to upgrade the RAM in my new ASUS TUF gaming laptop and yet another example of why I think TH-cam is hands down one of the all-time most useful and therefore most important creations of the internet age WELL DONE sir! 👊🏼
Thank you for the guide! Using this video, I was able to install 2x32GB DDR4-3200 RAM sticks on my TUF F15 FX507ZV4. This is not the exact model as in the video, but it is stated on the ASUS website that this model can only go up to 32GB. The 64GB that I installed works just fine and are recognized by the computer (as I see in the task manager etc.)
Crucial website can scan your laptop and it will tell you if you are able to upgrade then give you recommendations on ram and ssd. I am up upgrading to 64gb and 2 TB ssd. Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.
In some other videos, they mentioned about draining the battery of the laptop before doing any ram or ssd upgrades. So how to drain the power, like press power button for 15 sec or completely disconnect the battery. Is it necessary?
if you put this "wmic memphysical get maxcapacity" in command prompt and hit enter,it should give you the max supported amount of RAM. However Asus says my laptop supports max 32 gb ram I have the FX506LH model with GTX and 16gb ram i5, it can be upgraded to 64 gb,i am considerind to upgrade it to at least 32 in near future.
mate, can i put 8-16 combo? im using same i5 1650 model (2022) as i already have 8 gig can i just put 16 on the other slot and called it a day or is there any problem in it?
👍 Thank you! 😍 How many times did it take opening the back panel to make it so easily come apart? Or should they all disassemble that easily? 😮 I've read the maximum ram capacity is 64Gb; I've also read the maximum ram is 32Gb... if I find the correct answer, I'll get back with you. 😊
Hello! Thank you for the SSD video as i watched that to install mine. I am now ordering RAM too. I have a question. My ASUS TUF came with just 8GB of ram, can i put in a 16GB or even a 32GB Stick mismatched with that 8GB stick or do i have to match the RAM with what is already inside?
You can, and it will work, but you will suffer memory performance issues causing timing latency, but if you keep it to 4/4, 8/8 etc, the ram will run in what is called 'Dual Channel' mode. Much like Desktop PC's.
@@ChannelReuploads9451 yes, I found that out later that day. Finding that dual channel is better I ended up just sticking another 8BG in there to have 16Gb. So far so good. Thanks!
thank you man you really helping me changing my ram on my own Can I ask you a question pls ? Can I add another nvme SSD + a sata SSD or its only 2 nvme or 1nvme 1 sata SSD ?
Can we use a 16 gb ram in second slot, in addition to the 8 gb? Or both the slots should have same RAM? Also, can we use RAMs from two different brands, like one from Samsung and other from Crucial etc.?
Hey, I am trying to take the cover off of my laptop, but the bottom right screw isnt coming off and I cant take off the cover because of that. What should I do?
The bottom right screw should come right out, you need to elevate the cover with something (i did it eith an old card) and it should stay in the cover. Hope this helps!
can you remove the pre-installed 512 nvme ssd and replace it with let's say 1tb nvme ssd plus add another 1 tb for the extra slots? if so, can you copy your previous os to the new ones or is it better to just installed a new os? My first question also applies to the ram slots. one other thing is there a limit to how much the limit of ssd storage you can put in this device?
The analogy is that both will run at the slowest speed, so why pay MORE money for faster ram (3200) when its only going to run at 2900. This even dates back to the days of Late 80' 16 bit 68000 based computers, when you added things like Coprocessor, even though rated at say 50 Mhz, but the main CPU was rated to 33mhz, The extra components ran at 33mhz.

Thats the same one I have. FX507ZC-ES53. I was always told for laptop you can basically double it. So if it starts with 8 max can be 16 an if it's starts with 16 it can go to 32 etc
it means that your motherboard supports 4 slots, although there isnt enough space in the hardware to install 4 of them, so you have to adjust with 2 slots. Hope it helps.
if u go with 8+16 your 16 gb ram will work as 8gb only, either u can go with single 16 gb ram, or if u going to use dual channel u can go with 8+8 gb ram or else 16+16 gb , while using dual channel your performance will be increased, don't go with bad combo like 8+16 or 16+32 like that
I bought a kingstone ddr4 3200mhz RAM but it doesn't fit😅, it does not lock the pins and I'm afraid to put more force because i might break something😂. Are there different sizes of RAM?
I don’t think you can upgrade GPUs on laptops but If you’re trying to get the most performance out of your laptop, definitely upgrade your ram to 32gb (16gb should also be fine) but 8gb is just not enough for these laptops and it really restricts the performance capabilities of the gpu and cpu. Thank u so much for this video. I was very shy in opening my laptop but only because of this video I am able to upgrade the RAM by myself.
Glad I could help
Did you replaced the existing one or added another?
Excellent video. Clear and concise instructions. Best of all, no annoying, loud Muzak.

Some models supports up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM, installed as two 32GB SODIMM of the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 laptop

Upon occasion, when upgrading dual ram cards, it is necessary to buy ram in “sets” because different brands do not mix.
Do you need thermal pads on the ram? And if so which one should I get?
which brand ram came pre installed in this laptop?
why does the original ram have those silver things? im assuming its a heat sinker or something similar?

I have done exactly this but did not copy over my OS. I just backed up my OS and then restored it during re-installation
there is no extra process like entering the bios and making changes?
Noo
Should be none..it will take care of itself. Bios changes probably needs to be done in the event of u building ur own pc
Do you need to match the brand to the original ram? Thanks.
Is there any problem with put two 8gb modules one of them of 2933 mhz and the other one 3200 mhz ?
i think your 2 rams will only use 2933mhz even if 1 is 3200mhz
The analogy is that both will run at the slowest speed, so why pay MORE money for faster ram (3200) when its only going to run at 2900.

done it support with AData 8 G 3200 mhz?

Planning to upgrade to 16gb, may I know how is the performance when editing video like using da vinci resolve?
16gb is not enough for editing , you have toh upgrade to 32 atleast for editing with da vinci
