  • I know. I know. I'm crazy. Who needs lighting like this in a bedroom? Well, this crazy bedroom lighting is a testament to my obsession with lights; an obsession that I have in common with my son - both from a very young age...

    You are my new TH-cam addiction. I've wanted to do indirect lighting but only saw it done with crown molding (a little too dressy for my style). I showed this to my son and we are doing this for his room. I appreciate your instructions. Very easy to follow. And the look on your sons face says it all. You are a very cool dad. Thank you again.

    Great video. Keep them coming. Who doesn't LOVE lights. An old desk top computer power supply works great. It comes with it's own power cord and all you have to do is use a multi meter to find out the the 4 volt, 6 volt or 12 volt wires and hook them up. There all kinds of computer power supplies around.

    Okay I'm crazy to because I need these lights in my room. I have white xmas lights going all around the top of my bedroom. but I live in an apartment and cant put holes in the walls. those are some perks of owning your own home... but love the nerd parts of the video I do crafty DIY but this is awesome!

    I'm looking to do something similar for my apartment, though I plan on having a RaspiPi control it and hopefully integrate an audio input based pattern show. Plan to use RGBWW with a diffusing piece of plastic so I can use it as a main light

    cool video but you don't need a power line in the first 2 rolls as its receiving its power form the control box, the extra power should be used when using 4 rolls then you would plug power into the second roll for the voltage drop

      Eight AA batteries produce 12V. Not sure how long they will last. If you need more time, you’d need to use C or D batteries.

    Great job and thanks for the video!
    I have a question regarding the connection of the strips and supplying the power to each strip.
    How did you do that and where did you hide all the power wires that come from the power supply adapter (as I understand correctly each strip of 5 m needs a separate wire from the power supply)? I need to cover a leaving room total of around 66 ft or 20 m, which is 4 strips in total, and it's not a squared shape so one end won't meat the other one (I'd call it L-shape to make it more clearer). Or maybe I should use a two outputs one and start from the middle? Also, how many Amperes power supply adapter did you use? I'd like to go with 3528 LED lights as my ceiling is very small and this should be enough to brighten the whole room up. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
    I apologize if I missed it somewhere in the comments. Thank you for your time!

    • @bryanwhite3651
      @bryanwhite3651 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the quick response Chris!
      A few more questions:
      If I go in opposite directions will the lights be going from the middle to the opposite directions separately? I'm trying to avoid that (mirror effect) as I have an L-shape project, which ends will not be connected to a circle.
      I'm asking all these questions as I want the lights show start to move from one end all the way to the other, and that's why I need to figure out how and where to put a power supply for each roll.
      I'll be using 3528 LED lights so they'll need 2A for each roll, which means I can get away with a smaller power supply 10A or 4x2A separately. So my dilemma here is if I can't make the lights start to move from one end to the other by going in opposite directions (power supply in the middle of the chain which makes it easier to power the rest of the rolls), then I have to start from 1 end and go all the way to the end of my leaving room pulling the power line all the way around the room and under the light rolls.
      Any advise here would be greatly appreciated!

    • @bryanwhite3651
      @bryanwhite3651 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't purchased the lights or controller yet. That was one of my next questions - if the controller will be able to control all 4 rolls at the same time? I know you had to adjust yours with 6803 IC Chip. Don't know what to do with 3528s.

    • @bryanwhite3651
      @bryanwhite3651 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't know that. Thank you for that info on 3528s. Then in this case it doesn't matter where I start. Thanks again for all your help Chris!
