As always, nice to follow your journey. I've started pretty much at the same time as you, and I'm also seeing results with time and dedication, and I'm also facing some setbacks, at times. Good job on the 70.3, keep on !
@@JMower Yeah really enjoyed it. You've inspired me. I'm 45 now and going through the same thing as you. Will be doing a 70.3 next year. Your times are very good. Thankyou again for effort in making these videos, and yes please next time show as your game plan and structure! Cheers
Great effort on the half triathlon, 6hours of cardio is no joke! For sure if you can hit 90kg it'll feel a helluva lot easier. you finished 30th out of 38 for men, but I bet you that everyone of the men that finished ahead of you was probably a LOT lighter and had a more IronMan lean phytsique, so that's gotta be encouraging. Doubt there were many 104kg contestants besides yourself. Diet thing is super important to weight loss, I am sure your Coach will have a detailed plan for that..... As the saying goes "You can't outwork a crap diet!". Keep on track mate, you're heading in the right direction.
Well done kiddo! The thing is, in OD, you blow up and still manage to finish, its a 10k run. Lets say, you blow up in km 5 and you just have to run for another 5. In a half IM, on the other hand, your legs are toasted from the bike and any situation where you blow up will take you directly to -1 floor, in hell. Hahah anyway, congrats!! Next challenge, sub 5h half IM... Edit: also, cafeful with "overeating" on the bike leg. Train your body to eat carbs (gels or whatever) or you will have to pay a really high price (as I did). I try to eat 60gr of carbs per hour in the bike and usually fail... then 1 gel for the run leg and its done.
Thanks! I think if the weight loss goes well then next year I can shave quite a lot of time off. Not sure about sub 5 but i'll give it a go for sure! Yeah i definitely over did the carbs, i was so thirsty and I made the mistake of putting carbs in all my bottles. I should've left one bottle with just water
Been waiting for this. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Hope you enjoyed it!!
19:21 I hope that guys okay! Looked like a nasty fall after all the cycling and swimming too!
He got up pretty quickly after, not sure if he finished or not though...
Fantastic effort, congratulations!!
Great effort 👍🏻

Cheers! Yeah you're right, I'm 100% focusing on diet now, got to grind it out for the next few months
Great video. By the way my doctor told me bmi means nothing if you are a clysdale and do endurance athlete..
Also you will get the ironman goal
Great effort :)
Cheers! Next year I'll do it again and smash loads of time off!

You should start a weight loss challenge for your community. We can all chime in on how we’re doing; in the comments section.
I’d be up for joining that
Great idea! Maybe a series where we all try to reach a goal before Christmas?
I’ll definitely be making a vid on this, stay tuned!
@@JMower Super Awesome!!! Really looking forward to it!
The guy eating shit at 19:20 hahah
brutal..... he got up a few seconds later thankfully
Please go into detail about your training schedule. Thanks
Will do!
I'll see if I can get my coach on a video call to talk about it, he'll definitely be able to provide more insight than I would on my own!
Technically you didn’t finish an IM 70.30😀😎
You finished an IM distance event and not an IM sanctioned race.
haha yeah you're right! Maybe next year I'll do the 'real' thing!
@@JMower Luxembourg 70.3 is an awesome race with fast times.Look at that for mid 2025👍
