I just bought a 24 EXL fully loaded with 17 in tires. It’s not as loud as the sport 18 inch truck tires. I had a 20 fit ex. I love what they did with the new civic platform HRV.
I have the LX trim which does not have the low profile tires. So I do not experience all that road noise. I actually got the LX trim for that very reason.
You know, I've read many reviews of the HR-V and they either say that the HR-V has a "near lack of road noise and tire noise" - CNET or that the HR-V is "very loud" - Consumer Reports. I wonder if this is a tire specific issue?
Yes cuz they been driving the EXL with small rim and more tire. The sport has less rubber. The less rubber the more noise. Plus those people get those cars directly from the companies so they have to say good things
@@Iegend17 Two points about road noise: I think you're right about the tires on the Sport trim, but the other reviewers, if they gave into "pleasing" the manufacturers, then they lose credibility, so I don't think that has a lot to do with it. Secondly, it's loud on the highway...compared to what? A Buick? Of course it will be louder. I think you should compare to other cars using the decibel scale. That is the only fair way. Loud to you (on those crappy roads, BTW) could be fine for others.
@@williamwood1776Coming from a 2nd gen CR-V (my car) to this new HR-V would be an upgrade in noise deadening and quality of interior, you're right its all very subjective.
I have an LS460. I now what it means for a car to be quiet. This HRV isn't loud imo, but the tires can definitely react differently to different types of concrete/asphalt road conditions. I've driven loud cars, and this isn't one of them from my experience. THe problem with the HRV is the crappy tires. The main reason why the new HRV has a "loud driving experience," as reported in this video, is due to the SHITTY tires that Honda chose to use on them! Honda is using HANKOOK KINERGY GT tires on all HRV trim levels. They are one of the WORST tires I've ever tested on a new car. They have a HORRIBLE rating for dry grip. Horrible wet and ice/snow traction. Horrible with noise and comfort. Handling and performance is also one of the worst in the tire segment it competes in. They are the definition of horrible, and weird thing is there are cheaper tires available that easily outperform them in every category! If you don't believe me, check out tires reviews yourself.
I think part of the problem with the road noises that that road was just was not that great if you are on a nice new smooth Road you probably would not hear that much noise also the CVT transmission really shines when you are driving in heavy traffic
Yes, I do agree with you. I really liked the lane watch in my 2013 Honda Accord. the new seats are nicely to fold down flat and I showed that in the video so make sure you stay tuned for the full detailed review. Should be out tomorrow.
It’s not that loud on the highway, you are either driving on some clouds or something. I drove it the other day. The road noise is fine. You must have gotten a bad one. Or tires are not very good.
I have a question, could someone please ask Honda's executive board of directors to jump in , so they can hear the horrible cabin noise. Fix it Honda. Fix it. Put double pane windows ,, wait is this what we get for 25k ,I'm going to insulate it with commerical interior noise foam. I can't wait.
Lol. No one uses the wireless charging in the car. They are just selling point in cars. They don’t work. I have two of them in my tesla and never used them. Always plug your phone
I loved the 1st gen pre facelift HRV, but I think this is hideous. I like that it got the K20 but I can't find anything else I like about it. If I was in that market, I'd be getting the CX30 for sure.
Hi I have a 2023 I took for a test drive down to Marin county & back , in the rain. Great hardware and software, worked great. The cabin noise , hours later has left me feeling fatigued . I intestines loosen up, my spine was about to hemorrhage, my neck is stiff. What a horrible car. DO NOT BUY A 2023 HONDA HRV LX. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR A 55K CAR. Maybe just maybe I will try insulation the carpet from home Depot I'm going to buy a room of it and install it, I'm going to upgrade the tires to Michelin defender's 2 putting dynabeads, I'm going to replace the suspension with electromagnetic shocks using "the Bose suspension system" using clear motion kit. And just hoping that can solve my issues. I wish Honda would have added double pane glass throughout and super insulated this lx model for an extra 3,000.00usd I would have paid it, heck even $6,000.00 to have a Lexus experience.
It's just a big Civic. Almost like a Crosstrek and Impreza. Nothing wrong with that. Yeah it's a little underpowered. Just like the Crosstrek and Impreza. I'll bet the 1.5 turbo comes out in a year or two. Honda likes to turbo everything.
Shame on Honda for barely improving road noise. They do great with wind isolation so I know they can do better. The accord and crv are quiet for their classes. Not Mazda quiet, but 2nd to them.

Being way too dramatic over road noise. I just test drove a sport and it rode quietly.
I love this car the road noise is not a problem because 99.9% I am playing my music loud 😂
How do you feel about the road noise?
I have the LX trim which does not have the low profile tires. So I do not experience all that road noise. I actually got the LX trim for that very reason.
Solid review! This is definitely on my radar now!
I own EXL trim. And yeah road noise is an issue especially on freeways. Everything else is good
I just got my Honda hrv 2023 ., and I’m so excited and happy to have it! ❤️ mine is colour red ^^
Congratsssss 😊🙌🏼
How has the road noise and acceleration been for you since you got it?
Does your hrv sports exhaust gets louder when driving 65mph or above?
2023 Honda HR-V huge improvement over previous generation ! Slainte' ! Cheers !

Needs the 1.5 turbo, rear arm rest, rear vents and a power lift gate and it would be a good buy.
I wish Honda kept the rear hidden door handles, LaneWatch, foglights, and Magic Seats like on my 2016 EX

What trim did you drive? If Lx or exl then maybe that’s why
Sport awd
“Loud cabin” dude. Who actually sits in silence when they drive often?? Music will make the road noise next to zero
I got my hrv2023 few weeks, but my android phone connect that Bluetooth so weak.always disconnect... Anyone have this problem too?

What is the square orange light that comes on the dashboard while driving?
It means someone is at home sleeping with your wife.....read the manual man.
What is the best use is it a eco or a normal?
eco usually I've found. Good to kick into normal/sport if you need good acceleration (like entering a highway) but otherwise eco is good to stick in
Try a Miata if you want some road noise :)
LOLL. That’s different. Family suv vs Coupé sitting on the ground lol
Front resembles Lamborghini Urus, Back resembles MB GLC
I would think a good coat of under coating would help with the road noise. Nobody does that anymore
I thought i was the only one every time i drive my 23 hrv i feel like it gets louder 😂
Im confused, theres the same hrv with a different front? Here in denmark its model year 2022 and not 2023
Yes they made two which is stupid lol. Idk why Europe has one design and America/Canada have one design
The international model looks better
I do think so but it’s lifted so high. This one looks not bad in person tbh
I owned this car for 2 weeks. I am disappointed in the wireless charging pad, it only gives me 1% in 10 minutes.
Lol. No one uses the wireless charging in the car. They are just selling point in cars. They don’t work. I have two of them in my tesla and never used them. Always plug your phone

idk if you already got the cx-30 but i would avoid it, the ride is stiff.

Thank you. I was gonna say 1200$ or 1500$ then I was like let me shut up cuz if I don’t then I’ll make more mistakes lol
