    The all-new HR-V has a contemporary coupe-SUV body that appeals through the simplicity of its design, while its exceptionally spacious and versatile interior is more user-oriented and comfortable to sit in. This compelling combination owes much to Honda's compact, integrated powertrain technology and the centre fuel tank layout. The result is class-leading interior space, as well as unrivalled flexibility thanks to the versatile Magic Seats that offer both ‘fold-flat or ‘flip-up’ options depending on the cargo space required.
    As with the exterior, the spacious interior has a solid, premium SUV feel, but with contemporary fabrics and soft-touch materials. The modern, minimalist aesthetic is created by the horizontal sweep of the instrument panel and uncluttered lines and surfaces throughout. The feeling of airiness and space is elevated by a new air diffusion system that creates a curtain of fresh air beside and above passengers, flowing from unique L-shaped vents positioned in the top corners of the dashboard.
    Featuring the most comprehensive suite of advanced safety features and driver aids in its class, the Honda HR-V is fitted with active and passive Honda safety technologies designed to make driving both easier and safer.
    The e:HEV powertrain consists of two compact, powerful electric motors that work alongside an Atkinson-cycle 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine, a lithium-ion battery and an innovative fixed-gear transmission coupled to a power control unit. The system benefits from advancements made over 20 years of hybrid development in Honda road cars and in Formula 1.
    For its installation in the HR-V, the e:HEV’s power is boosted from 109PS as found in the Jazz, to a total power output of 96kW (131PS) and 253Nm of torque.
    The e:HEV system in the HR-V is more compact than in the Jazz, and has a higher degree of energy density that enables it to generate greater torque. The number of cells in the battery has been increased by 25%, allowing greater storage and deployment of electric power over the 80kW Jazz, with the power control unit (PCU) now downsized and integrated into the engine compartment, and water cooled instead of air cooled, for improved heat management.
    The effect is an effortless and comfortable journey, whether travelling through urban areas or cruising at high speed on motorways. The HR-V produces CO2 emissions from 122 g/km (WLTP), returns fuel economy of 5.4l /100km (WLTP), and accelerates from standstill to 62mph / 100km/h in 10.6 seconds.
    What sets the e:HEV system apart is how its three drive modes seamlessly interchange to ensure optimum performance of each component in both urban and motorway driving. The intelligent Electronic Control Unit automatically, and constantly, cycles between Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive or Engine Drive depending on which is the most fuel-efficient drive mode at that specific driving situation.
    When driving at a constant high-speed, such as on the highway, the system operates on engine drive as that is the most efficient for that scenario. If further acceleration is required, such as when overtaking, the car will switch to hybrid drive for that additional performance boost. Additionally, when in Hybrid Drive, power from the petrol engine-driven generator can be diverted to recharge the battery, offering additional efficiency benefits.
    ‘Sport’ mode can be activated via the drive selector, enabling even sharper throttle response, whilst ‘Econ’ mode adjusts the air conditioning system and throttle response for an emphasis on fuel efficiency. In addition to ‘Normal’ mode, where the car is best balanced between both worlds, drivers can switch across all driving modes at the toggle of a switch.

    What i love about the interior is that it looks modern but hasn’t given up ease of use for looking like a spaceship. And no glossy plastic in touch parts or lack of dials

    Nice review! About the acceleration, I saw two other reviews where they both did 0-100 in about 8.7 sec in sportmode. So that's quite a bit faster than the 10+ sec Honda said.

    Congratulations for your channel Dan. I have a question regarding the battery charge of this HR-V. What is the most efficient way to recover energy?
    1. Stepping on the brake and using regenerative braking (without actually using the mechanical brakes).
    2. Using the steering wheel paddles to slow down when releasing the accelerator pedal. (as an engine brake)
    3. Use both techniques simultaneously.
    Thanks in advance.

    • @SDADanCars
      @SDADanCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks Fernando for feedback 🙏 Best way to safe energy is to try to anticipate traffic and slow down slowly. When the car is rolling is better to use as less as possible the brakes. Use brake pedal slowly is the best way...try to make all driving smoothly....slow acceleration and slow brake is the best way 👍👍

    Hey Dan. Can the front seats be adjusted for height? I'm browsing through most of the hybrid/mild hybrid cars which are currently on the market and I'm finding that many of them either lack basic options like adjusting the height for the passenger seat or making that option available only on high trims. The RAV4 doesn't have it at all (checked forums and people are confirming this), Mazda is only including the option in the Luxury Pack (which is only available on higher trims and also forces the sound pack), Kia is also forcing the option within a Style pack etc (this example is for Romania). I feel like for any car with a starting price over 20k euros, height adjustments for both front seats and front seat belts should be standard. Why? Because it doesn't matter how many other options the car has, if you can't do something as simple as finding a correct position to sit in the front. Your reviews are generally very informative, I feel like you could include info like this in them to make the reviews even more complete.

    • @SDADanCars
      @SDADanCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      John from what I remember you can adjust the height but I can't remember.....I have to check again. Most of the cars I Review are able to adjust the height....it should have this option all cars...

    • @mariand.1087
      @mariand.1087 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SDADanCars Yeah for the driver seat, unless it's a Dacia Logan/Sandero where you also need to get the highest trim + an optional pack to get the adjustment, most other cars have it as standard. But for the passenger seat on more expensive cars, you have to really pay attention to the trim level / optional packages because you might end up ordering up a car which lacks basic features. I don't know what manufacturers are even thinking, if a car starts around 25k and you as a buyer would be content with that package but only want as an addition a simple feature like height adjustment, you are cornered into paying an extra 7-8-10k for a higher trim (better engine, more gimmick options) only to have the adjustment included. From the pictures on the HRV it seems like both seats do adjust for height, however the car configurator on their site lacks this info. Also, wireless smartphone integration only for Apple? How they even manage to do that, honestly, is beyond me.

      I wanted to get a Mazda 3 M-Hybrid Elegance but after everything, I feel that a SUV give more space, higher ride and very slightly more premium. Mazda has advanced hugely along the way, but so has Honda, also the resale value for Hondas are higher. In the end, I chose this Honda but the petrol version (1.5G/FM2021) and now driving one so far, it has given me approximately 15.5-18.9km/L with 98 fuel grade. My mileage is now at approximately 1100km with the first oil change done. Overall, love both cars but this Honda SUV is the new pick for me, feels good. Handling wise has been much improved from previous predecessors, especially the suspensions too. But don’t expect GLC/BM X model kind of power :) Hope this helps everyone!
      Edit: Also, I’m not in the west, I live in South-East Asia which has heavy traffic and mad amount of traffic lights, so this suits my climate and country, you’d have to test drive those cars to really feel what suits you!
